that depends) he writes the music that he wants to write. Sincerely. Not the music everybody wants to listen to like all the pop-stars this days... And you know, in this way I find him kind of successful: he sings what he wants, something coming from the depths of his soul (I suppose), and he's got a whole lot of people around the world that truly appreciate his music. His music is that kind of typa music that you are listening to now, might be listening in a year and will possibly be listening in 10 or so years.. U wanna come back to his songs..that's what it feels like for me. His music is like an old friend of yours.

Everyone feels this song differently. For me its about when you got to let go of someone of the past, and you still love them but you just can´t let them make part of this new phase of yours bc they no longer fit in it. About a year ago, I was forced to ghost one of my closest friends. I was in love with her and she had a crush on me. But we had a complicated history. I was never enough for her. When we were younger, she had even wrote a letter stating how I was too depressed and that she couldn’t be around me anymore. We stopped talking, then started up again. When we did, we became really close. But it was all over text. She never tried to talk to me in school or in person. My family thought I had cut her off because of how much stress she caused me before. I wasn’t able to. I felt sick to my stomach when talking to her after she told me how she felt about me. It was like excitement and dread at the same time. I knew it would never work out and that I’d completely disappoint my family if they found out I was talking to her. Not to mention, her mother hated me. I finally caved and told a family member. They said I should drop her because of how I felt before. They didn’t want to see me like that again so I ghosted her. It’s been a year. I told her I’d be back in two weeks. I feel bad knowing that I hurt her but I can’t go through what she put me through again. This song perfectly describes how I feel about her. “If I could make you the enemy I would” really speaks to me. If I could turn it all on her and never feel anything but hatred for her, I would. I don’t want her in my life because I don’t want to hurt her or myself. “I hold a banner for you, but it’s upside down” I could try my hardest to impress her or be there for her, but I’d only mess it all up. It’s toxic and I’m glad we’ve gone our separate ways. Part of me wishes I could have some closure, or grant her hers. But I think I’d get swept back into her. I’m so glad I’ve found this song. It gives me a way to express what I feel without knowing the words.
