I have one of these. I got it delivered in January! Part of the year we full-time remote work out of it. Pull this with a 2023 2500 Duramax, love our setup! Highly recommend this unit for remote workers!

One of the best walkthroughs of a trailer we've seen. We love this model for the great storage and its simplicity. We have an Airstream Classic and storage is not as ample on those. We tow with that exact GMC you suggested and love that truck! Definitely recommend not towing with half-ton, as even we close in on our max cargo limits because we have a 500 pound topper on the bed. We know of someone towing the 30 foot Flying Cloud who blew the transmission of an F150 within about 4 years of travel. Thank you for the excellent tour!

Airstreams hold up for years and I do mean years. Top quality and pull nicely.

Everyone I’ve ever met on the road had older rigs and swore by them, low maintenance is the biggest selling point for some 🤣

Airstreams also retain their value. We love ours but I’d love more room. The bunk option instead of the office is great with kids. And agreed on the truck. In our research I wouldn’t suggest a 1/2 ton truck for anything over a 25’ Airstream. It could be done with a 27’ but I wouldn’t want to deal with the hassle.

I was just looking at some used ones and even a 2004 Airstream ask big money. No doubt, I bet these pull pretty easy but because your down on storage for outside things, the bed will definitely get used which will exceed most 1/2 tons 👍🏾

@@JB_WhoWork for sure. I use a F250 super crew short bed and the bed is full of stuff, but it pulls the 30’ Airstream without issue.

That camper is pretty sick. Keep the content coming brother. Can't wait for you to get your 6.6 gasser. Looking forward to the Ford, but TBH a bit less....I'm a GM guy, what can I say? ;)

TIP - Move your camera much more slowly. Your bid actually made me dizzy at one point. Couldn’t finish it.

We’d love a 30fb bunk, the no slide is a win in our book. We have a no slide unit, but we don’t get much love outside of airstream for longer units.
Jayco offered a no slide option similar to this for 1 year and killed it when the pandemic hit in fear of not making it…. Wrong call 😂

Ha, I’m hoping to find a bunk model at some point because I would be able to figure if something like this could actually work…
I’m shocked why others don’t build rigs without slides, great option for rental companies 🤷‍♂️

Just wish the Flying Cloud came in different wood panel options. The tan seems bland. A Globetrotter with the office would be great.

It looks like the dealership dewinterized the RV and dud clean the shower floor, someone was standing in it. A very nice trailer.

Some great features, but still an RV with subpar quality like the rest. Especially for a trailer close to or exceeding $100k, or $60k more than others with similar floorplans and features.
Also, please make sure to qualify that GM/Chevy increases the GVWR on their 3/4 ton pickups to increase payload for marketing purposes. So, it's not an apples-to-apples comparison to RAM and Ford who still use the industry standard 3/4 ton 10,000 GVWR. You should mention this and also note that GM/Chevy will cost more to register the higher GVWR in many states. I can't speak to Ford, but RAM 3/4 tons use the exact same power train as the SO RAM 3500s. It would be appropriate to say that the 2500 RAM powertrain is way over built for the legal towing numbers.

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  Год назад

After walking through this rig, quality is still better than the competition and I’ve noticed some travel trailers exceeding the $60k mark. Does that mean Airstream is better? Depends on what you’re comparing it to.
Ford raised their GVWR back in 2022 and the 2023’s are pretty much in line with GM from what Ive seen. Not to pick on RAM but they seem to be having issues internally because they lowered their tow capacities and they actually lowered the GVWR on the 2500 Rebel. Whether a manufacture raises the GVWR or not it’s still apples to apples, Ram isn’t restricted from doing the same, thanks for sharing 👍🏾

JB, the queen bed setup is a waste; even if you're solo. It takes away so much closet space as to ruin the entire bedroom. The double bed bedroom carries two extra hanging closets unavailable on the queen bed. Plus, there is more outside storage with the twin bed. The Flying Cloud version of any Airstream is the cheapest, most sparsely equipped model in the lineup. I hope you weren't interested in buying this rig.
