Thanks for summoning the courage, open-mindedness & patience required to listen to such a long piece of fan-favorite music! Many of his longer pieces can transport the listener to another place and are well worth the excursion. I have played and performed electric and classical guitar for decades, so I’m aware of all the stand-out players. He pretty much dethroned almost all of them for me because of his skill, creativity, and huge body of work. I believe he is the most important guitarist since, Hendrix & EVH, but remarkably & unjustly flies underneath most of the rock community’s radar. Be aware that he only performs a small fraction of his greatest work in a live concert setting, I’ve been lucky to see him 4 times. If you’re craving another outstanding track (16 Minutes) that is well worth the ride & nobody has ever reacted to, try “The Moltrail Part 2.”

This song/album is an orgy of the tastiest licks and riffs of the electric guitar

Many artists make sad songs when a family member dies. Buckethead, on the other hand, makes an entire EPIC album so that in some way the memory of her mother is a happy one to admire just as she surely was. For these things I love Buckethead

I always think that this song is 5-6 minutes too long. With the fast pacing it get's kinda exhausting. You just can't keep up the energy over such a long time. At one point it is just too much. Still an amazing song, but i prefer the slower and more melodic Pikes like 266.
I would also recommend "Earth Heals Herself", it is similar to "Too Many Humans".

I feel like buckethead had so many ideas and just didnt want to stop playing. Not even ideas, but memories of him and his mom which he translates through the guitar which is why he didnt want to detach from it and just keep playing. But i totally get your point.
