That's why people say that if you want to know that if there's a tsunami coming and you're at the shore, the water will go away a lot from the shore, that's how you know smth big gon happen
Can I just say I'm really interested in these natural disasters. And what shocked me the most is the 2004 tsunami that ruined nearly half a million peapole😮
I think people expect it to be a wall of water 50' tall like in a movie and instead it's just an endless barrage. It's like a wave crashing to shore except instead of receding afterward, it keeps crashing. It keeps building. It's like a river being spontaneously generated except it's everywhere and it takes hours. Stuff of nightmares
Look up the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean that hit Southeast Asia... It was *over 100'ft tall* & wide enough to hit *multiple countries* ultimately killing *over 200,000 people* 💯 One of the worst natural disasters in modern history... maybe do some research before spreading misinformation about things that can cost lives👍
I did this all the time when I was younger in the bathtub lol, id move to one side and the water would go to the other and cause a mini tsunami that would move me around lol
@moneyheist_- I appreciate people having different theories, believes or ideas about this topic or astronomy in general. A myriad of scientists, astronomers, data, stats and information has been put forward supporting the heliocentric model of planetary motion and order
@@earthscienceclassroomwhich data or stats and information in favor of a heliocentric model and won't be compatible with the fixed earth at the center of the universe?
@moneyheist_- retrograde motion of planets, kepler’s and newtons laws of motion and gravity, Einstein and hawking to name a couple. I’m all about other theories and scientific concepts revolutionizing the way we understand nature, but this has been established for centuries and all new information and scientific break throughs do not go against the heliocentric model
I learned that in science off topic but most earth quakes happen by the movement of tectonic plates rubbing against each other creating the shaking feeling
Thank you so much, its so nice to have your kind comments, I try to get my students in New Jersey to visualize this amazing natural phenomena. Also, to see the shear power of the ocean and how destructive these natural hazards are. I wish everyone at the museum all the best!
At 0:29 , you can see how the water retreats. that is the sign where a tsunami is gonna happen. When that happens next is a big wave, that will wipe everything on its way. Even trees were wiped off (it depends on the wave)
Here in the PH, in the Mindanao to be specific. We experienced earthquake almost everyday, thank you for the information. This video helps ❤️ please include Mindanao, Philippines in your prayers for our safety. Thank you 🥹❤️
Thank you so much for your comment, I wish you health and safety. I love to study earthquakes and seismology but do not live in an active region. I always pray and hope for everyone’s safety whenever an earthquake occurs.
Maybe my paranoia but we live in FL and every time we go to the beach, I'm watching the water, looking for alot of water suddenly moving away from shore. Even before we go on the beach, I make sure there is a tall condo or at least 6+ level parking garage within a short run of where we are.
*me in my bath going back and fourth to act like a tsunami is taking me away literally little me if i saw this* so then tsunamis are fun! They are like baths :D
What if the tectonic plate slide in on a direction that a tsunami would be going in sea and now inland. Would it just go past and smaller or would it just get super big
That's why people say that if you want to know that if there's a tsunami coming and you're at the shore, the water will go away a lot from the shore, that's how you know smth big gon happen
Not true
@@yogeshkoranga2323Yes it is true we got a receding water on 2021 and we got a mini tsunami after the receding water
If one tectonic plate goes above another, wouldn't a hollow created for waters to enter the magna layer?
It all depends on which part of the “wave” is created first, the trough or the peak
@@yogeshkoranga2323yes its true you dawg bot

same
Peapole? I’m disappointed.

The adult version of waking up and realizing that the science report is due today.
Tfw you look out to sea and realize you’re about to become a science report

It CAN be 50 foot tall or even bigger, depending on where and how much of the plates hit and displace. It's happened before and it can happen again
IS THAT TIDAL WAVE REFERENCE!1!1!1!1!11🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥¿¿????
yes.
You hurt my throat
I was searching for tidal wave ☠️
I love how he hearted all your comments. He's aware of the existence of the level lol
Gd fr everywhere i look
I did this all the time when I was younger in the bathtub lol, id move to one side and the water would go to the other and cause a mini tsunami that would move me around lol
Same 😂 !!!
Really cool! 😊
Omg ! 😱
man I wish I had this when I did a science project for tsunami's at a science fair
tidal wave explained by zoink
Bro put water in a dish, moved the dish, and said "and there you have it"
Yeah, the mini-version!
Container*
Pretty smart if you ask me
Super Lab experiment
The demonstration isn't the issue in this particular case...
Imagine the power to cause the displacement for a tsunami
Great explanation and easy to understand, thanks to the visual aid, well done!
Bro explained it better than any Harvard master 🥲
it is so cool, the water looks like water!
Real.
Yeah, how did he do this? It's amazing 😮
Of course this is water
That loss of water at the shore is important. When you see that sudden loss of water and low tide, run.
This is amazing. If will be an honor to work with you one day.
Appreciate it! I wish I could have a larger container to demo this better!

that’s fucking awesome!!!

A concise and effective demonstration!👍🏻👍🏻
nice :)
It also shows us why the water looks like is first getting sucked in, very cool
So cool good Job

I did that in my bath one time
Saint Patricks day water💀
LMAO
Small tsunami infinite going tsunami that processing
Omg😮😮😮
Yeah but aren't tsunamis also created by something impacting the water with lots a force?

Who would have known a genre of music could cause such devastation
Very informative 😃❤Thanks 🙏🙏👍👍
Cheers! 😃
my dumb ahh thought he was gonna snake the table
(This is rlly sick tho cuz you can see the water receding is a sign of a tsunami)
Great video 👍👍

Can you do something like this on square waves?
"I BEAT TIDAL WAVE OH MY GOD, OH MY GODD"
Wow
gd reference??????? also ill try to do that looks pretty fun as an experiment
so that's why water moves away from the shore before a tsunami?
How do we get out of TSUNAMI ? I mean to avoid the places.

As soon as japan got a new year tsunami , this feed appeared in my homepage......
I just saw the news update on a possible 7.5 magnitude quake in Japan. I hope everyone is well informed and evacuates any areas at risk

Next do a tsunami cause by an underwater volcanoes like the one in 2022 cause by Hunga Tonga - Hunga Ha'apai
Thats a challenge, I love it
Nice one
I think it’s important to note that really life tsunamis don’t hit a wall and go the other direction
Yes, however wave refraction does occur on larger tsunamis across ocean basin when the energy meets a coastline and either multiples or reflects
Well they would if the wall was big and strong enough.
Your accent sounds familiar, but I can’t quite place it 😅 all the best from NE England
Cheers! I’m originally from Cornwall but parents are from outside London (herts and bucks) and been in the United States for a while!
What if the tectonic plate slide in on a direction that a tsunami would be going in sea and now inland. Would it just go past and smaller or would it just get super big
Depending on the location and size of displacement the tsunami could magnify or be dispersed before reaching a coastline
Nahhh he aint dimistrating he a water bender
Tidal wave verified by zoink lol

Thanks for the nice feedback
I love tsunamis
Thank you☺️
Wow ❤
Oh my gosh this is so scary
People who did this in the shower alot
👇
I was under the impression that tsunamis were huge and dangerous. That demonstration puts my mind at ease. Oh, you mean…
You didn't mention or show that when the wave gets close to shore it gets BIGGER.
Exactly.
I wish you guys were my teachers 😅 My teachers wouldn't bother showing us a VIDEO about it
Thank you, really appreciate the nice comment
Very interesting
Thanks, I love being able to demo very simply these processes
😮 wow
Bro thinks he is OniLink
Thats a cute little tsunami, why are you put that little tsunami there? Release it back to the ocean 😚
But the tsunami never stops💀
👇
Uhhhh... DUH!
The teacher gonna be mad with this thing
I experiment like this daily in my bathtub.
i want to try it
I love your explanation but the word is Propagation. The waves propagate.
Make it bigger
I would do this all the time in the tub🛀
Next one can you do a simulation of a tsunami caused after a glacier falling off
Bros top 1 is kinda cool ngl
Tsunami ⚡🌊
People who skip to see tsunami 😂😂
