Just finished up building the micro cage for the my T3i. My early thoughts are to add an additional mount in front of the existing one.Allowing to move the camera forward and balance out the weight when you are using lighter lenses. I am also adding an additional shock mount tee on the forward arm. Allowing me the option of mounting my H1 closer to the subject or adding some other optional equipment.
Real awesome rig Knoptop. Love the way you make your videos too, they're super cool. Definitely gonna make this rig with extensions for a mic and I'll put a GoPro where you have the shock mount. Cheers
The design looks awesome Knop! I think it would be great for a follow focus, as the Z shape allows space for focus pulling. I might try and build this rig, and will definitely get some test uploads uploaded. - Red Spectrum Pictures
@comicreaper Depending on your tripod setup, the bolt should have a 'c' washer that keeps it in place. (you may need to pull up the rubber padding on the plate to find it) when that's pushed off with a screw-driver the bolt will drop out. Then insert your longer bolt in it's place. Hold on to the old bolt and c washer in case you want to put it back on down the road.
Whether it works great or not - it looks COOL! Go and shoot something or somebody and show us the results on camera - UMM - I mean - video - not to shoot someone and video that (my own legal disclaimer - heh)

thats smart to put bright colored tape on the lens cap so you know when it is covering the lens
