Could you or anyone please do a mentoring or training guide for the console version? A lot of us can't afford a PC but we still love FM and the game is a bit different. Just a thought, love the channel and love the content
The most annoying part of mentoring is some players can get traits passed onto them from a mentor that aren't even in the group, or any of the groups... In that ascept it's broken
You left out that you can have Senior team members mentor your Academy players, which I have found very effective for potential wonderkids. I think I heard about it from you... move your Academy players to the Senior squad and then make them available for the Under teams for 90-minutes, then they can train and be mentored with the Senior squad.
yes but I believe they miss something like one day of per week when you use this method. another options is to go to training (I think) -> units and add the youth players from here. then go to mentoring, ask assistant to assign the groups and from there you can manipulate who mentors your youth players.. you can't remove the youth player from the group because they wont show up as an option when you try add them to another group but you can move around the senior players obviously.

Hi Jake if the player that is doing the mentoring has doesn't feel comfortable playing in big matches or a like can this be passed on to the other player at all
If you start at a club and your whole team is Balanced/Media friendly, what do you do? This is more common at the lower levels where at best you might have 3 guys that are not Balanced - and of those, it's unlikely they will be very good personalities either. Balanced guys just don't develop fast enough and it's quite common for their attributes to be completely unchanged for their whole career.
In unit part, I've chosen some of young players to train with A team. Problem - Ask assistant and he make groups with that young players but when I try to make groups by myself I can't add them. Sollution?
The game should be way more clear on how this mechanic is working right now. I'll quote and question some vague in-game texts. "Their mental attributes and Player Traits are the only areas affected", all mental attributes? if not, which ones?. "The closer they are in profile, the more likely the senior player will be able to translate some influence onto the younger player", what closer in profile actually means?
Hi there. I am playing fixed match dates wednesday saturday. For mentoring under 18 players i put them in to main team but they are not playing in under 18 match when there is a match in same day even when they are not selected. This is so annoying and i couldnt find anything to fix it. Realy need help for this please answer thank you =)
The mentoring system has been confusing and unclear since it was introduced. The ONLY way we even know how it works is because of people doing hours and hours of analysis and reverse-engineering in the SI community. The worst part is that the UI doesn't help at all. F.x. why doesn't the drop down list of players show their Media Handling Style? I have had a love/hate relationship with this part of the game for years.
I have tried that but it only ever gives an average effect at best. I just bought a 19 year old wonderkid for 40m hes off the charts great but hes fickle on a low wage and only on a squad player role. Any player i try to get him to mentor has light or average effect, i have him in a group with a perfectionist star player and my professional captain 3 months on there has been no change to him
@@kevinreynolds8755 don't waste your time trying to mentor to increase personality because it will take close to 5 years of mentoring to increase it. Thats near impossible to do.
I always have a mentoring group with my oldest and youngest players in it and then i forget about it. Now I am wondering if its doing more harm than good 😂

Right!!??? There is not a single FM RUclipsr or web site that properly explains the mechanics of mentoring with evidence. It's all just a theory.
That could happen in real life too, though. Mentoring groups don't stop your players befriending or idealizing other players in your team
That's not broken, that's your players speaking to their teammates and picking up traits from them. As would happen in real life.
people pick up traits by watching other people play. I think the FM mechanic is similar but it's a well guarded secret

I’ll be honest I wish they’d go back to the old system when they had one on one mentoring or at least allow us to have it

Yeah, both should exist, just allowing a group of 2 instead of 3 would make things better
one on one tutoring was OP, but i never bother with mentoring beyond telling my assistant to do it

How do you get that player view? Is it because you have the Editor ??

Minimum is 3, but more players > more time (aka less effective)

Just buy model citizen player old one or cheap one in every position. then start mentoring. ez game

The console version is different set up and do you know if you can get the editor for FM 23 Xbox?

Good video. As an aside, the system to discuss potential new player traits is pretty much as bad as anybody could make one.

In your clubinfo screen you can see the rating of your facilities. How did you get that on your screen?
0-3 Poor
4-5 Basic
6-7 Below Average
8-9 Adequate
10-11 Average
12-13 Good
14-15 Great
16-17 Excellent
18-19 Superb
20 State of the Art
you can remove all players more than 22 years old, as they can not be mentored. they are too old, it's only for young player in growth phase.
