I would definitely do something about it. My buddy is now paralyzed and on a ventilator with a trach in his throat. He's been there for about a month and a half. 🥺 DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL... IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF NEUROPATHY!!
You definitely do your research, this is good to know when trying to live your life after GBS. I learned this the hard way, doctors didn't even have to tell me, I knew because it was out of the ordinary, something that I hardly ever do. And it went badly. But I was fine, understood it more after hospitalization.
It really depends on your dedication towards therapy. You need it forever even if it's at home, you gotta keep moving or otherwise you will become paralyzed again. Sleep deprived, depression. Occupational, speech, and physical. I actively suffer from GBS since 2019, the year I birthed my son after receiving a flu shot for the first time. I'm able to work, feed, and care for myself and my son but it can be draining and 4311, constant, daily, pain. The attacks are the worst though, making you feel like your entire body is creating an avalanche. The paralysis takes over, and the pain is excruciating, and you have trouble breathing. Most mornings, I feel as though a train ran over my body and my face and body will lock up making it hard to speak, swallow, and move. There's no cure, and over the counters barely do anything... but it's something you learn to endure. My life has changed since GBS. Taking the good with the bad...
@@animatedbiologywitharpan thank you for replying. They put my husband on gabapentin for the pain. After a week, it stopped working, so they upped the mg. Just yesterday, they upped it to 800 tid. It’s very frustrating. He has an EMG scheduled next month, but these doctors seem so slow to respond.
Find a doctor ASAP that will do something for you! Unless you want to become paralyzed and possibly on a ventilator! Do not drink alcohol!! Or it may be permanent!!
80% of the people can recover from this if treated early. Please research, please get help. It can take up to 3 years to fully recover.
