    Very nice presentation. You are really into the matter and passed this positive vibe while talking about the subject. It is an easy 1 hour 20 spent hearing and learning from you. Also nice hints and tips you spread along the way (like the comment that the hazard rate can only be computed at the end of the experiment). Thank you for preparing the material and sharing online.

      It is SO well explained!
      I have been wondering if the data I have lends itself to using a cox hazard model.
      I have access to cross-sectional data of 1.000 adolescent mothers who have been asked "How long did you continue going to school when you found our you were pregnant?" answers have been given in weeks. I was hoping to use this model with "Discontinue vs. Continue" as an outcome and weeks as the time variable. I understand it's not ideal to ask participants retrospectively but I am wondering how much of a barrier it is for me to use this method! I am not sure what else to do with the data otherwise ... THANKS!

      @@janinajochim1843 sounds like you could use Cox regression with the event being "discontinued" and it could be time in weeks. They would be "entered" at the time they found out they were pregnant and timed until they dropped out. If you want to reach out to me via email with your data and questions we could schedule a half hour to discuss your study. And I am always available for hire if you need more help :). My email is elaine@omegastatistics.com.

      @@janinajochim1843 I tried to send a response but it looks like it didn't go through....Yes, it sounds like Cox regression would work. You would enter them into the study at the time they found out they were pregnant and then your event would be "discontinued school". I wish you the best!

    Great presentation - I have a question as it concerns some data I need to analyze. Can this analysis be used for non time events? I have data for an animals withdrawal response based on pressure applied and it includes animals who would have not responded to maximum pressure applied. Also one objective would be to determine if there is a difference in withdrawal response between animals who got the disease and those that didnt get the disease.
    Thanks

      @omegastatistics  4 года назад

      Hi Anice, If time isn't a factor then check into other regression models. Is withdrawal response yes/no? Or is it numerical? If it is yes/no then try logistic regression. Numerical, try linear regression.
