So funny. A very happy and amorous little bird indeed ! Well done for providing an environment that makes it possible for this fluffy little bird to be so happy and comfortable.
To all you haters: the bird is not sad. If you believe that, you clearly know nothing about domesticated birds. Dieter's body language and constant chattering proves that he is perfectly content. And please take note that he is actually speaking English which demonstrates that his owner spends PLENTY of time with him, which is what domesticated birds like. Are we clear??!
no! don't soar over the truth of biology and animals! The bird is irritated, has too much arousal, he shows so much desperate wish to sozialize, but he never comes to an end. The are we clear-reaction is very embarrassing, bc. this is this soaring-manner which has no content-value but is just a direct spreading of not high-league-impulses! We are not right, as Dieter's keeping is not right! The keeper knwos that Dieter would immediately turn his attention to the other budgies, if they were there...and he does not share Dieter's attention with others! That's it! That has nothing to do with animal love! Much lower!
Dieter is a very happy Budgie! I've had many Budgies. This little guy is very content, busy, talkative, active. If he was unhappy he would be sitting in his cage with his feathers all fluffed up staring into a corner not making as much as a single tweet! His feathers are sleek and fit nice and close to his body, his cere is nicely colored. The "cere" is the waxy covering right above his beak. It is blue on male birds and pinkish on females. When they are babies the cere is rather colorless. His wings haven't even been clipped! That is awesome. He looks to be rather young but no matter, he's a happy budgiebudgie! Maybe a teenie bit agressive but guys get that way sometimes. HA!
What a riot! Poor thing needs a real female. Our cockatiel used to have play dates with neighbors' birds. I love the way he says 'Dieter' over and over.
read the comments carefully, then think and feel carefully...and you will see that you only sticked to the surface! So many ppl do not get the point...which is not only an intellectual matter. WHY don't you FEEL that a budgie can't be kept like that? WHY don't you FEEL that DIETER is urgently seaking for a real other budgie? WHY it pleases you to see an ANIMAL put together with PLASTIC-stuff? WHY don't you get the point?
Paula Pianda Oh please! I have kept budgies all my life! He is most definitely not unhappy. I am not a stupid person and would thank you not to come on here patronising people because they do not share the same opinion as you!
Laura Baker 12 year-old Americans make tutorials how to clip wings.....Americans never have branches (with leaves) and herbs in their cages. They do not replace the hurting and feet-damaging perches they bought in the shop. It seems that: - concerning animals Americans: - are totally denaturated, without feeling to the creature, no real contact to nature. Plastic, mirrors, clipped wings, no flight, no partners, no branches...this is what Anericans do/give to their birds. They do not learn over years, they do not learn understand their animal, they do not feel how wrong they are in relation to their "so called pet" They just go wrong in so many respects and dimension! And now YOU will tell me that YOU understand your birds? If you say this constellation: DIETER alone on a artificial wood-plate "playing" with kind of plastic-sex-figure? hahahaha! Please, do reflect, do inform, start feeling----> and try to do justice to your birds! I'm only talkjing in favor to those lovely, but sp poor-kept creatures!
Paula Pianda I am sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about. You are making no sense. If you are implying that I am American then there is at least ONE thing you are wrong about: I am British. I am very shocked and upset at your little outburst to my light-hearted, innocent comment with which I meant no harm to anybody. I wish I'd never bothered now and will not in future.
Laura Baker Laura, I'm writing to change standards! Here, the fact that lots of ppl just utter, "how funny", "how sweet" such a single-kept budgie, playing with plastic, talking bto himself, is! So I write just to make a break....always intended to reach the lots of watchers who - without break - would just adopt this DIETER-concept AND would be "confirmed" their believe that keeping a single-budgie like Dieter would be o.k.! So, I just stress several aspects....and do this in a manner, pll. are touched: with the message and with the affect! So, please, no personal offence: ppl shall get the concept of: - budgie swarms - free flight - fresh branches, leaves and herbs (willow is vrey good or hazel or fruit tree's) - no plastic, no mirrors! Apparently ppl REALLY don't get the tragic of those single budgies, even their disturbed and unsatiesfied behavior is misinterpreted. Therefore I do the BREAK, ppl must be shakened - in their concepts and their feelings, not just you!
I so agree with the response against the critic about little Deiter. Budgies do this and since he is a male, a female will just ruin everything. It happens with cockatiels as well. First you have this wonderful little male singing to you and dancing and then you bring a female and they don't want anything to do with you. If you know about keets you can see that this bird is healthy, behaving true to form and is truly loved! You better watch out they may pass the "Budgie Brothel" bill... LOL
No bird should be raised alone. Socialization with others from their species is very important for the bird´s well being and fulfillment. Please consider getting Dieter a mate, you will see how happier he will be.
hbsharkman They do bond with humans, but naturally they´ll be more into each other, because same species partners are much better for their needs (emotional, psycological and physical) - just like with humans, who would have thought. I have two couples of cockatiels and they are very confortable with me (i can hold them, kiss them, etc) but it´s clear to see that their same species companions make all the difference in their happiness (which is much more important to me than having an animal completely emotionally dependent on me). Not giving a partner because you want to be everything in your bird´s life is just selfish. I´m more focused on providing them the best life possible.
kazymerchyk and you´re the kinda dumb person who can´t read, count OR think. I wrote A mate (not 3); dieter + A mate = 2 (not 4); one bird living alone with no chance of socialization with other birds =/= having one kid who will play with lots of other kids in his life (plus is already living with parents from its own species).
kazymerchyk Go eat shit. The more the better, obviously, but the least minimum would be 2 birds. And anyone who can't get at least two birds shouldn't get birds, simple as that. And anyone who purchases birds for their own selfish needs hbsharkman can take the closest bar they find, and shove it up their asses, sideways.
Budgies are so great at distinguishing voices of other budgies. Since that's right, my female budgie calls this guy "darling", "baby" or "chéri" :O so here we go, "bird online dating" lol
He sounds like Grover from Sesame Street. The problem with buying a mate for a bird is that they seldom want anything to do with you after that. They become so bonded to their mate that you become way less important to them. I've seen this happen with parrotlets and lovebirds.
Love your Videos, My budgie Freddie loves sitting on the laptop speaking to Deiter. We have plastic toys similair to those Deiter has but were wondering where you bought yours as they looks lighter than the things we have.
wow, your budgie talk so clear, you train him well, he's so cute, how old was he when you got him? He start talking at which age? I have a baby girl, I want her to talk, she just yawn and make some clicking sound when I talk to her, she loves kissing. I love your blue budgie.
You really should get this little fellow another budgie. He isnt happy, thats maladjustment. Hes trying to mate with this puppet and trying to feed it. And btw he could also get pretty sick, cause his crop will get infected from feeding that puppet. Please think about it. You would make your little bird very happy, I promise.
*Phew* No wonder he get tired in the end! All that talking and exercise - topping off at the end *LOL* Fun video! :D I started wondering if i could have gotten hold av a toy budgie like that for my budgie too - In the vidoelist at the side here it looks like Dieter has an green one i n the same series as the blue one..? Haven't seen the vidoe yet, but will next :) Any clue who the manufacturer of these toys are? :)
This budgie isn't horniest, this is only abnormal. This budgie is a very poor boy!! If he would have a real budgie-friend he won't do it like this anymore.
@Ichthypriapus You should really buy him a real budgie friend. Trust me, he will not be terrified just surprised at first and will be really happy after a a few days. It may seem as if he has fun with the doll but it does not respond to any of his play attempts nor reacts to his mating proposals. This causes frustration. He needs a bird who really responds ,interacts, plays and communicates with him. Best would be another male budgie, they get along well with each other.
There's nothing wrong with this bird, I have two hand reared budgies living in the same cage and they both do this, no diff to a dog humping ya leg lol he's just self lovin'. He's a very happy bird. As far getting sick .. WHATEVER been breeding budgies for over 20 yrs and some have tried feeding me lol. NEVER got sick. A sick bird is an inactive bird not a talking bird full of life. Also going by his ability to talk he's a well looked after and loved bird. A female would stop him talkin.
@Ichthypriapus Budgies are social birds, they can be excellent friends of man and live with other budgies. Your male budgie needs at least another companion.

These haters need to do some research smh
Inkdip the Rainwing EXACTLY
Thanks chief Heather

Dieter is a very happy little bird, and obviously gets a lot of socializing time with people. He reminds me of my little Pepe, RIP--a chatterbox!
How on earth does such a HUGE personality fit inside such a tiny bird???? He is a truly remarkable character.
ahww very cute, i love this bird. he reminds me of my budgie croeckie. looks like he got freaky at the end haha
He sounds like a serial killer... Cute bird though, aha...
Or Satan...lol
Dieter - the name of the budgie? really?
oooh - i love it.
Greets,
Günther, the green budgie.
Danke , für so niedliche Aufnahmen, großartig und was für ein schönes Gezwitscher. Alles Gute weiterhin.⚘🌸🐦🐦🐥🐥🐦🐦🐤🐤🌷🌷☘🍀🌳
Those budgie toys are great. I'd love to be able to get one
This budgie is amazing!! AWWW
parrott
He needs a real budgie wife! It will make him happy.
Oh my god my budgies heard yours and they started chirping so loud oml
He has GOT to be the horniest bird on RUclips! BIG Thumbs up for ALL his videos!
I remember when my own budgie was running around all the time. Now he is like 10 years old or more and doesn't move around a lot. :S
OMG THE NOISE IT WAS MAKING! I was about to die, tooooo much cuteness!
Yep, just the one. I couldn't imagine how traumatized the second one would be if we had another one.
Ichthypriapus yes
Ok
Go. Yes
He's so good he calls his own name out! LOL
Too funny, so adorable!
What a riot! Poor thing needs a real female. Our cockatiel used to have play dates with neighbors' birds. I love the way he says 'Dieter' over and over.
R U alive?
The blue toy budgie is his piece on the side when he gets bored, but the green toy budgie is is one true love.
I have budgies and other birds. And even with companions, they still hump their toys (or sometimes my finger). It's not abnormal.
What a beautiful clever boy!

Deiter gives "her" kisses, whispers sweet nothings in "her" ear, but "she" doesn't give him the time of day, poor guy.
He sounds like Grover from Sesame Street.

He is so cute!!!! lol
I loved when he was kissing the toy... he was actually doing the sound and movement. Too cute!!!!!

"A female would stop him talkin." lol... i guess they're not that different from us.
he is like trying to wake the dummy up , poor budgie
Hahaha! Hes trying to "love up" on the toy ;D

I seriously doubt the bird will get a infection in his crop from "feeding that puppet."
That's dumb
Budgie budgie budgie lol! I love budgies, they are brilliant. What happened to the bonkersaboutbudgies website?
He wants his friend to get in the proper position so he can give him a good rogering.

I LOVE HOW HE GIVES IT KISS', THEN HE VIOLATES IT lol
Oh my gosh, reminds me of the late great PeteyBird!
That poor bird toy, it looks like DIeter chewed his feet off.

Haha my budgie is not interested in objects he loves mirrors
He pounded the legs off that budgie party girl!
he sounds like and old cartoon engine backing up
this is so cute :))
funny how he sounds like a DJ scratching records
the bird is talking.
this bird is clearly trying to mate with many objects and that is not really good for his character
Dieter is amazing!! My Budgie loves him :o) How old is he?
"Why u not answer to me, honey???"
@Ichthypriapus Budgies are social birds, they can be excellent friends of man and live with other budgies.
Your male budgie needs at least another companion.
Lovely.
lol looks like he's performing cpr
You need to get another budgie. They live in flocks of 2000 birds. Do you at least have a mirror for it? Get him a wife!
