    Got the api setup, thought I would drop you a note the command y -N when requested for next action in the autogpt run sequence give you the ability to make autogpt run a certain number of times without manually having to enter the y. For example "y -11" would get auto gpt to run through the next 11 steps without requesting a y from the user to continue.
    Hope that helps. :)

    Hey Dad. Great video. I worked my way through your set up and after a few set up hiccups got this to work (never as simple as what you show). One comment is that when it came to entering the google environment you blurred out the component that gets copied in and I assumed it was to be the "Https://...". Looking forward to see what you come up with next on this application.

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  Год назад

      Yes, I was blurring out my API keys since they are supposed to be secret. I know it made it difficult to see what I was doing, but you should have your own API keys that you will be pasting in to the .env file

    Hey CryptoDad, what i would appreciate help with is creating the google search api, im stuffing around with google cloud trying to figure it out and it has me stumped at the moment.

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  Год назад

      Yeah, it can be a little tricky. And I had basically gone through the process before I started to record the tutorial but of course the first thing you want to do is activate the free trial, which Google usually will give you an alert box for. this will give you access to the tools, but if you follow the steps in the video about creating an API, you should be OK. It’s going to ask you a few questions and I believe you should choose for it to be external and don’t restrict it. It might be best practice to restrict it but for our demo purposes better just to leave it unrestricted Google can be a big rabbit hole, so try not to get sucked in. You can still run auto GPT without enabling the Google API if it gets to be too much for you.

      So the latest version of auto GPT posted on GitHub is now 4.0 in 4.0 they have altered the code, and are no longer supporting pinecone and a couple of the other memory back ends. The only one that they support now is Redis or local cash. However, their support for Redis is still pending. It’s not quite operational so for now you’re going to have to fall back on local cache

You can get a free Open AI API, but it is not very useful because it only allows a limited amount of calls, and Auot-GPT calls it every time you hit Y. That is why I recommended the payment plan for the API. You can Use ChatGPT 3 to help you troubleshoot your error messages.

    It wasn't clear to me how it came up with the goals and if it's possible to provide that to it as an input. Every RUclipsr I've seen has failed on making this clear.

      Yes, it’s a little bit of a black box since it doesn’t really ask you to list your goals in version 3.0 usually what I try to do is give it clear-cut sentences about what I would like it to do try to be very specific and if you notice it going off on a tangent, just tell it not to do that. I’ve had a few instances where it starts, trying to do something over and over again and fails and I just give it human input and tell it to stop. It will usually move on from there.

    Hey ser thank you for this video, however it didn't help me at all, just made me moreferestrated.d
    First of all you start with the API- why? chronologically it isnt the first thing to do
    Second you didn explain to us how do download the AUTPGPT, you just show us the website.
    Third-why making it so complicated? i mean why we need all those softwares.
    DONT YOU HAVE "Auto-GPT Setup FOR DUMMIES"?
    SOMTHING MUCH SIMPLE AND NOT SO PROFESSIONAL

      10:25 the clone command is when you "download" auto GPT to your computer. I do things "out of order" because I am trying to demo all of the preparations you should make before trying to simply run the software. I think if you follow the video step-by-step, you will be successful. And yes, it is complicated.

    Turned it off after 15min...do not understand why I would ever need this AND pay $70 for it p/m. Love your usual content Rex, but this one I will skip.

      Thanks for watching. I noticed after I posted it that I should’ve pointed out. You can set your monthly allotment much lower if you want to. I used it for several days and it’s only racked up about $1.20 worth of charges so far.

    after using the command pip install -r requirements.txt i recived this
    Defaulting to user installation because normal site-packages is not writeable
    ERROR: Could not open requirements file: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'requirements.txt'

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  Год назад

      If it’s not finding the requirements file, you want to double check and make sure that you’re in the correct directory. You should be inside the directory that you created for your auto GPT project files. Also, you might want to double check to make sure that the files were in fact downloaded into that folder. I like to use my windows explorer to navigate and view my files. It helps to confirm that everything is where it is supposed to be, also remember once you’ve opened the correct folder in windows, you can shift->right click to open up the windows, power shell in the correct directory

    Hey, Love the Vid!! im running into a slight problem running [ .
    un.bat ] it keeps sayinng python 3.11.3 was not found even though ive installed it just like you did, even allowed for max path, and even ran powershell as an administrator but I think im missing a step, can you please carlify? thank you!!

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  Год назад +1

      It sounds like for some reason it’s not in your path variable. Even though you may have had that option ticked off when you ran the installer, I would maybe try to focus on that. maybe ask chat GTP how to add python to the path variable.
      By the way, I have had tremendous luck, cutting and pasting error messages from my windows power shell into my chat, GTP browser interface. Sometimes chat GTP will actually write code for you or give you shell commands that you can cut and paste directly back in to the windows power shell . When all else fails, you might try that.
