Omg I was listening on the way to school and you had me tearing up talking about anxiety and how overwhelming it is 😢 I've struggled with negative self talk my entire life and it's still something I deal with here and there. A therapist told me that when those negative thoughts start to come up, imagine myself talking to someone I love instead. I always imagine my little sister, and if she was frustrsted and angry with herself, I would never talk to her the way I self-talk! That's helped me a lot and if there are others reading this that struggle with negative thought patterns, I hope this helps you too ❤
that movie did me dirty.. I completely appreciate and agree with what your therapist says! I actually do often stop myself and think if this is the way I would speak to my daughter..and of course the answer is no! Sometimes..the voice is just a bit too loud ya know. one day at a time 💝
I'm halfway through my 1st semester of my hygiene program and I really hate life right now, but I'm too tired and busy studying for my next exams (we take 6 classes our first semester) to let it sink in. 😂😭😂🤢🤮
I’m thinking about anxiety meds but I’m scared of side effects. Also not sure how to go about going to the doctor about it. I usually can’t sleep when I have an exams the next day because my mind is racing and thinking about the exam non-stop.
this is exactly how I was/sometimes still am! ive had horrible side effects when it comes to xerostomia but otherwise nothing-maybe some lightheadedness I just told my doctor how I was feeling..but I have a wonderful doctor who I feel I can be really open with-which helps. I know it's a tough conversation! but you got this :)
Im starting DHY school in september and im binging all your videos until then! Thank you for all the motivation, excited to study alongside you this next fall semester :)
Hi Liz, I sincerely hope your health will get better. You are killing it at school and thank you for taking the time to share and offer your knowledge with future DH students on your RUclips channel. I know that you will be successful and pass the national board and all this stress will be over. I am so glad you are going to the gym, as you know it is so good for our health and I will make sure to do it as well when I will be a DH student. And reading books is such a great idea :) Thanks for sharing these tips with us
thank you so very much for all the kind words and well wishes! means the world to me! I have a few classmates who primarily speak in a different language, and they are doing just fine!! it can be done 🤗
@@LizPodNich I would be so interested to see how you manage your schedule, like time for family, time for study etc... please :) Also, could you share great tips on how to take quizzes/exams? I am going to take the ATDH test end of September, and I pray to do well but the stress could overwhelm my mind.
@@juliegourgeon3831 ooooo okay! id love to put together a video about my time management and the way I manage my school/personal life!! oh gosh, I’m a horrible exam taker. I apply stress relief lotions, make sure to sleep well the night before, big calming breaths..idk I definitely struggle and get so anxious every exam..one day at a time. one exam at a time 🤍
@@LizPodNich Thank you :) I am looking forward to it. Okay, I have one more question concerning ATDH. Do you remember if you were running out of time or did you feel you had enough time for all questions by subject please?
anxiety has been such a wild character to allow into my life..just trying to manage it all! like everyone else...but we got this! hehe thanks girl! tooth bestiesss for the restiesss 🦷🪥🤍
@@marymmoon1190 if you are talking about the hygiene program...yes! if you have a passion for it and are ready to give it your full devotion for 2 years-I am very confident in my decision
Yes even if it’s one class😢 but sometimes you get a second chance to repeat but you’ll have to wait a year and start with new classmates that’ll be entering the program. Some programs I heard once you’re out that’s it.
I’m starting the DH program in less than two weeks and the best advice I’ve gotten is to make sure to find a good group of people bc it’s hard to do it alone! How would you go about putting yourself out there and make friends with the people in the program?
eeeep!!!! so excited for you to start your journey! You are going to do great, I just know it! honestly...I struggle with this still. Yes I have one really good friend in school who I knew before the program and we definitely share the load and check in with one another often. but aside from that, I have a few other friends I talk to more often but no other like class bestie! I love friends and def hope to still make some within my cohort
we lost one after the first fall semester due to grades, had another drop a few weeks into spring semester, and then lost another after spring semester! I think thats it!
I haven't been diagnosed. And I have met a few wonderful people with truly intense symptoms and I understand it can be horrible and affect your life. you are so strong! I am proud of you :) I mean no harm when I say I have OCD, it may not be extreme in any way..but I cant help it if things feel big for me ya know..and sometimes my ADHD mixed with what I consider OCD, leaves me feeling truly lost and scrambled and scared..idk how to explain it but yes, everyone has their battles and we are so freaking strong and powerful for pushing through each freaking day!!!!
It's true, people use the term "ocd" wrong and don't realize they have a choice for the things they are "ocd" about . We don't do things because we really like them that way, and people without ocd won't understand, but I'm with you!❤
Thank you for this video. i watch a lot of your videos! i am deciding if i should go to dental assisting school first and then go to hygiene school. do you know if DA courses go into DH courses?
hey! yay I’m glad youre here! definitely dont waste your time going to school for DA before hygiene school!!!! not necessary whatsoever. get your prerequisites done for hygiene, and you'll be on the right track 🦷🪥🤍
I wouldn't waste my time assisting if you want to do hygeine, that's more program costs and time for something you don't really want. I say take the leap and go for hygeine if that's what you want!!
I’m taking my prerequisites right now, hopefully I’ll get into the program this summer.
almost done with your prerequisites?! you got this! I believe in you! keep me posted and good luck!
Heyyy, greetings from Seattle. I’m halfway through my prerequisites. Thank youu❤

This coarse sounds really hard you know😅 so people get kicked out if they dont get a grade c at least?
correct! in order to continue with your class you need to pass the class which is a 77% and higher, in my school at least.
I really like your content it's very interesting
Would U recommend this coarse ?

I had literally almost no upper hand, aside from knowing teeth numbers and teeth surfaces. that is about it!
