If you still struggles, there's 2 additional slot you can use. Sword battler can be a good meatshield with good damage, a generalist you can trust on. Baller battler is also a generalist although as a backliner instead of a frontliner like the sword battler. Titan/Telamon battler can be good for tanking but the enemy does a LOT of damage so it cannot survive for a long period of time. Although it has a crowd control ability so it can stop the sledgehammer and sword battlers coming in, or the bomb battler. These two slots must have a condition, (in my perspective) one slot must be cheap with a low recharge time (to spam) like sword, baller, miner, etc, and the other must be somewhat a "secret weapon" like titan/telamon battler. Investement can work although you wanna use meatshield for a longer duration of time to compensate it's money production. Powerhouse is good if you wanna send meatshield early. But remember to have your bank capacity to be well leveled to compensate with the price. If you managed to beat chapter 2 and 3, (isn't required to beat chapter 3 but it's your choice.) you should get your battler and trowel battler to level 20+ to soak up more damage as a meatshield themself. Sword/Baller battler should be level 20+ Titan/Telamon also wanna be level 20+. All base upgrades are expected to be level 12+. All units are expected to be 15+ aswell. Do not use the gattling cannon, due to doombringer's armor and the ability to give everyone a bucket (which gives armor to the normal peons except for titan and sledgehammer.) which can severely weaken your gattling cannon's damage potential. This is why the guide uses a default cannon, which can deal crowd control damage, potentually killing everyone that is using doombringer as a bodyguard. Backliner may survive but if there's no allied peons in the way the enemy backliner may head closer that can lead to them being in the frontline for the cannon.

I just beat this with battler, trowel battler, speed coil battler, Slingshot battler,Mafia Krip, Rocket battler, Baller battler (last is an empty slot, preferably a meatshield or backliner) with the starter base, i prioritised maxing out the bank. (I also had beaten ch.2 out of desperation to increase the maximum level of my battlers)
