Nothing quite like being in your early 20’s and having that first screaming banshee of a muscle car. It’s a glorious time in your life.
Just so people understand how loud that is, most cars stock are around 95 to 100 decibels. And every 10 decibels, the sound is 2x louder. So his car went from 116 to 126, meaning it's now 2x as loud as before.. absolutely insane
Yeah put headers on my challenger and it seems like it got 3 times louder

Sounded great with the stock converters. But those headers made it ridiculously loud!! His neighbors are going to be mad at him. Lol
wasn't the headers that made it loud. it was the high flow single cats.
@@Cuda_JrIt’s both of those that can make the exhaust louder; any kind of removed restriction, really. It’s even if you have shorty headers and get aftermarket downpipes/cats like you mentioned, it’s just as loud. Probably not nearly as loud as long tubes, but close enough.
I’m currently running some Flowtech shorty headers, with the stock downpipes with the 2nd cats deleted. It’s definitely much louder, although not as loud as HFC’s would be, of course.
Long tube headers with factory cats are still pretty loud, especially since cats luckily don’t restrict sound other than a lil. Still better without them but if ur in Cali like me you gotta deal 😔😔

That's what I would've done cuz it's gonna be alot of drone at low RPM. Now this kid needs a tune because that AFM is gonna sound like a WRX subaru.

Mics typically peak at high decible. With your own ears on sight it probably roars even at a distance

I owned an 03 2500 with the 6.0
Cats went bad so I cut them off and had nothing but a borla pro xs muffler.
It was mild at idle but would absolutely scream at the top end. Wish I had a video.

I test drove a used red 2010 Camaro 2ss 6 speed with long tube headers, two weeks ago. What a fantastic sound it had. It was to be a daily driver, so I didn't buy it. Really had to think about it, it was nice enough.

@@noahcotney2957 nice itll sound amazing. i think my friends trans am is a 2000 or 2001. i have some videos of it on my channel. he has a stage 2 btr cam, full texas speed exhaust from headers back, and hes getting a built 4l60 put in soon
Sounds good - but does no one own a manual car anymore? I feel like every video, especially sports cars, all have automatics.
Automatic transmissions have become faster and smoother then manual transmissions these days, it’s really a shame that no drives a stick shift.
@@MEATYMILKY No doubt this is true. The 10-speed automatic in the 6th Gen Camaro is an incredible transmission - but I still bought my 2020 LT1 with a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual. Just doing my part to save the manuals before they all disappear or become ludicrously expensive.

Damn I'm running kooks long tubes here. I had it with 3 inch pipe and flowmaster outlaws. I got tired of the drone n put the borla atak system on mine. I miss the 3 inch pipe n the outlaws watching this video.

Mean, but way too loud. My local townies would park at the foot of your driveway just to write you up and you know the drone is absolutely horrendous. A++ for RUclips and an F for the real world....

I feel like I got cheated when I put long tubes on my truck. Sound changed almost none. Maybe got a little deeper but not much. Plus I’ve been chasing a leak, or at least sounds like a leak. Can’t get it to go away either
If you have the stock mufflers on it I'd cut those off and replace it with just pipe.
It'll really let you hear the natural sound of the engine and actually give you better gas mileage. (Less restriction)

@@unnamed9410 I had one, in that year it was the 6.2L LS3 ugh 426hp when you got the 6 speed manual and 6.2L L99 400hp with the automatic. Had the same set up, it’s really loud bro the camera doesn’t do justice
