It could've been that she couldn't hear her monitor or something. Try putting headphones on and singing to a song, but record yourself. Bet you it'll sound like shit because it's hard to sing on key when you can't hear yourself.
One of the problems defining a goth is that it seems there are as many definitions as there are goths (or more). My own definition is that a goth is a person who exhibits one of multiple psychological patterns of personality that causes a deep appreciation for the beauty of all aspects of human experience inherent to human life, including pain, pleasure, life, death, light, and darkness. A goth is not necessarily part of the goth subculture. Alas, I find goth hard to define, esp. in 500 chars.

She really needs to work on her voice. It's different when you're in a studio sitting down comfortably in a chair with water next to you, and all the time in the world if you screw up. Singing LIVE is an incredibly difficult task compared to that. But at least she's not lip syncing like Simpson did.
