They are so cute, 🥰 adorable and beautiful! ❤. What a difference between this and other channels, besides Arroz Marisco from Monkey Hill Hong Kong! ❤. I very much enjoyed both your channels. I’m glad I found your channel and the translation is amazing, question do you ever name the monkeys or not? 🐒🙈😊
The Vervet Monkey Foundation does incredibly compassionate work to help orphaned infant monkeys to be rehabilitated, overcome the trauma of losing their mothers then introducing them to foster mother monkeys who are as loving and gentle with them as would have been the case, had their own mothers survived.

Poor little one, just wants some affection. 😢 He’s a fluffy little guy. Despite needing/wanting a mum to cuddle with (his little cries break my heart) he seems to be doing ok. He’s very cute 🥰 I know all of the things that could have happened to his mum but it makes me wonder what actually happened. He just looks so lost without her. Just pushing around little rocks and crying, hoping mum will return. I know some members of the troop pay some attention to him. But I wish one would really take him under their wing so to speak and give him the love he desperately needs. Especially since he appears to have been with this troop for a while and was quite young when he lost mum. I also wonder if this is the troop he was born into, like some of them are family to him. Sorry for so many questions and thinking out loud. As this channel and monkey are new to me.
Thank you for watching. This baby was born in this herd. If she is in the herd, someone will take care of her and play with her. They may have siblings, but I don't think they have a connection because they don't have a mother. I think I can survive just fine.
Baby monkeys are not living on their own after 5 months unless they were abandoned pets. They stay with their moms in the wild for years and stick around with their moms and siblings for life. That's why they called troops
This monkey can live without its mother. And after the lactation period, they do not need to be with their mothers, so I believe they can live. If you doubt me, why don't you come to Japan and see? I will show you around. In Japan, no one takes Japanese monkeys as pets. Also, what information do you have that they spend their whole life with their mother and siblings? It is wrong. Male monkeys leave the troop they were born in after the age of three. Instinctively, a mechanism to avoid incest is at work.
There was a much older monkey, looked to be at least a yearling, grooming the baby at the beginning clearly sucking its finger as well. So, there’s at least 2 traumatized monkeys In this vid. I assume visitors can feed these monkeys ?? If so, there’s your explanation for its survival. Lip smacking at humans shows it knows how to beg for food. This baby could have only learned that from watching the other monkeys.
The most likely reason his forehead is messed up is because he's been punished for breaking the rules, begging humans for food and eating before the adults and other high ranking monkeys. You live around them and know the rules yourself, but still teach him to beg humans for food(a nasty habit) and feed him out of order. I think you want to record his death. Begging is a nasty habit. He's plenty big enough to forage and get water in the same way the adults do. You talk about him surviving in the troop, then you teach him to follow humans begging for food and to eat out of his very low ranking hierarchical order (you're teaching him the rules don't apply to him), especially after seeing evidence he's already been punished for doing so. He's not at all starved, there's no reason you should be feeding him.
" there are no other baby monkeys with this kind of charm, you'll be able to find them easily"... It's NOT "charm", he's begging for food and it's a nasty habit. There's nothing charming about a monkey who follows humans, constantly, yelling at them while demanding food, especially when he already has his gluttonous pouches full and food falling from its mouth. It's quite the opposite of charm. In the West we teach animals NOT to beg, including our pets. We find it to be a very disgusting nasty habit and an animal who behaves this way is unappealing and in need of discipline by the troop (or its master in the case of pets), which he'll get, and deservedly so. He knows the rules and chooses to break them. You have this monkey thinking it's special, can do whatever it wants and doesn't have to follow the rules of the troop. He thinks he's alone as he begs. There's always another monkey who sees what he's doing and with no mother to protect him, he's going to be in big trouble, as you keep feeding him when his pouches are overflowing and the others will see that. It's not charming at all, but the furthest thing from it. He's already exhibiting bad behavior and being gluttonous.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns. I appreciate your passion for the well-being of the monkeys and understand that there are different views on how to interact with them. Just to be clear, I do not live near this area and have never interacted with these monkeys other than with my camera. I have never fed the orphaned monkey. My purpose is to observe and document their natural behavior without interference. It is important to understand each other's perspective and I appreciate your input. Let's continue to respect each other and foster a positive community.
Feed him, he is asking for something to eat! Without a mom he will be low ranking unless he has an aunt or Grandmother. He probably wants to stuff his cheeks with food! He is an orphan, give him charity. Also if you film him at least pay him for his time in fruit , nuts or beans!! Don’t take him for granted!

He is adorable. I hope he makes it ok!!
So cute and fluffy 😍🥰

I watched this monkey for 30 seconds and it crapped twice!
its scared... key word "orphaned"

The rat will be looked after by people but likely not other monkeys.
