Very nice, Pete, thanks very much. Yes, the book serves a certain purpose, but other AC/DC books serve other fine purposes as well. And thanks for the comments everybody. And you're right, it's timed with the 50th anniversary.
Saw AC/DC with Bon Scott when they first came to Boston, way before anyone knew them. Looks like Mr. Popoff has written another great book on one of the best bands in rock. Maybe he should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (Better candidate than some that have gotten in!)
Book looks awesome and always appreciate the weekly new product shows including books. Recently received some more of Martin's books as a present from a family member. Finding Martin's books has been one of the many benefits of watching SoT for over three years now. This looks like another epic. Thanks for the show and share and kudos to Martin for the book.
An amazing story. Hard rocking bar band do years of road work and build a following with kick ass riffs and an amazing lead gtr player. Singer dies and they get a semi retired singer who was in a low level band and they rise to the top on an album that should never have worked. Arguably the best one trick pony in rock but they did it so well and haven't compromised
Saw AC/DC Open for AeroSmith in Portland in the late 70s. Bon Scott and Young were amazing. AeroSmith who was my favorite band at the time, sucked bad, after being blown off the stage by AC/DC.
I just wish he would re-release his Collectors Guides to the 70's and 80's. I need to replace my copies as they were destroyed by my dog when he got sick. Still have the CD'S that came with them in pristine condition but the books are toast.
50 years in the music business and at the top of album sales for nearly 40 of those years and respect and adoration from not only the majority of the listing world but also the bands musical peers in every genre of music, is all the high points any artist could ever need or wish for. The question is, why don’t you think so? Because in reality, takes true talent to take a minimal amount of chords and turn them into a franchise that remains at the of the music industry, and still subtly reinvent yourself as a band the way ac/dc has done. And on the other hand, it takes a true music aficionado of their music identity the bands subtle changes that would seem giant to the ac/dc fan, which has always attracted the listener, whether passingly or religiously, which has brought a longevity to the band and its music, both on record and live, for 50 years thus far. Some great tracks? AC/DC has great ALBUMS, for even the albums of theirs that didn’t sell well (because during 50 years every decade brings a new flavor of the decade) those albums were still miles ahead of the majority of music that was being distributed, most of which is still not in rotation today or even spoken about. For many, ac/dc’s most popular songs aren’t even their best. The band has so many deep cuts on every album released that are indeed still being discovered by the world on a daily basis, which will ultimately carry their music for generations to come. Especially when they have two different singers and eras, and personalities to keep them busy listening. And finally, what brought all of this together and what made so much enthusiasm and excitement for the band was their live performances, which were and are historically and legendarily the definition of pure power and adrenaline that most artists never achieved or will ever experience. I just feel sorry that you never got the chance to experience any of this.
@@timothya.olmeda7299 --I went to see AC/DC in concert THREE times and have a half dozen of their records so I certainly know who they are. I was born on a Wednesday but not last Wednesday. I listen to them once in a while but for me after 50 years they are no longer a "go to" band and have moved on in terms of musical interests..
@@robertwheatley9153 I haven’t been to an ac/dc show in 27 years myself, nor have I bought an album of theirs in 13 years, but that didn’t mean that I didn’t like those albums or didn’t check them out on RUclips over the years, nor did I stop loving ac/dc at all. I think everyone goes through phases of adoration and various fandom scenarios for all types of music, and or any kind of entertainment, but that shouldn’t keep someone from liking that entertainment any longer. Nor should it make someone go out of their way in defaming an artist simply because an individual has chosen to downplay the artist’s achievements and legacy. Otherwise you just sound like a jealous girlfriend, wife or ex. It’s an easy thing to say something negative. It is much more difficult to give credit where credit is due. No matter what you claim, ac/dc has absolutely earned all of their unmatchable success and legacy. End of story.
My musical tastes have changed a lot in my 50 years but I will always love AC/DC.

Tremendous book. Thanks Pete!
Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember the 1970s when people would point at my AC/DC badges and ask, 'who are they?' Half a century of pure joy.

AC/DC at CBGBs...wow! Another one for the time machine Pete.

Wish the book will also be available in our state in India . ../ and also love the Band
My favorite of all favorites… man those riffs are so magical…playing them the right way, so hard.
Martin has brought a lot of enjoyment to rock fans over the last few decades.
I was there on the very first Rock in Rio in '85 on the day AC/DC was one of the headliners ....Perhaps the biggest band on the whole event. Cheers!

My sister got me the other one Martin did on AC/DC for my birthday and I loved it, so I might have to pick this up
A "must have" for sure. Purchased mine some time ago and very glad to have my own copy! Thanks Pete
I managed to see ACDC with Bon just before he passed, it was at Newcastle Mayfair and was a blast!
I Don't listen to ac/dc nowadays, but i have fond memories of being blown away first hearing back in black and highway to hell, great band
I guess Martin's getting more of my money. :)
The book looks great. I wish I had an opportunity to purchase it. Unfortunately there's no shipping to my country.
Nice. Thank you 👍💯

Id be more interested in reading Jesse finkes book about bons death, as all the other information is readily available.
Alright, that is a book I want to have 😊🤘🏻
Barnes and Nobel is in the future for me or is there his personal website
Seems an interesting book
This is also the 50th anniversary of the band.

Nazereth or AC/DC ?
Sorry To Say There's Alot Of Mistakes in This Book But I Only Found out After Buying it Photos Nice Though
Did AC/DC even have 50 high points??? LOL. Some great tracks but they basically played the same 3 chords every fkn song..
