    I'm very happy for Markelle. He heard all the criticism and many dismissed him as another completely forgotten bust. But he kept growing and improving his overall game. He showed there was more potential than the bust title.

    I am rooting for Fultz and not Simmons because here is a guy who at the start of his career, had already faced a crippling health issue (thoracic outlet) and a potentially career ending injury (acl tear). But he kept his head up despite criticism and kept slugging away never giving up. He has 3 traits Simmons never had. Mental, intestinal, and testicular fortitude.

      Fultz not living up to expectations mostly wasn't even his fault. But he kept his head down, worked hard, and repackaged his game and now he's set himself up to have a longer and solid career. Plus he's only 25 and has plenty of room to get better than he already is.

    The kid went through so much at a young age. Can’t imagine everyone telling him why you change your shot when in reality you have no clue what’s happening to you. The mental tool it must of taken on him. Crazy.

      It makes you want to kill yourself because no one hears you and everyone is saying it’s in your head but in reality you’re highly injured and the doctors and people around you are idiots. I can speak from experience. I’m an athlete that had his career ended due to doctors misdiagnosing me for 8 years. I’m now 32 and cooked and it’s all because the people that are supposed to help let me down. Fultz got let down too but at least he can still live his dream and is rich.

    I'll never forget the massive amount of people on social media who were clowning and mocking him when he was dealing with his shoulder injury. Markelle deserves all the respect in the world because after every setback he got up and kept going.

    Markelle was really one of the greatest PG prospects of all time. Quite literally had 0 weaknesses. Having your greatest strength taken away has to be one of the hardest things to overcome. Yet he still managed to rework everything else and become a good player. I hope the shot comes back

      @@kurt168 think about all the best PG prospects ever. Before the 2000’s most of them were under 6’2 and couldn’t shoot/score super well. In the 2000’s, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose were the best. CP is a generous 6ft and DRose couldn’t shoot well. In the 2010’s John Wall and Kyrie Irving. Wall really couldn’t shoot, and Kyrie is 6’1 and not a great facilitator.
      In comes Fultz; 6’5, longgg wingspan, super athletic, 3 level scorer, elite defensive tools, efficient. Not a single weakness or deficiency. Only knock was that his team was god awful and couldn’t win much

    I think with the Magic next year Markelle could be a borderline all star, there’s a lot of comp though but he’s gonna make a huge leap either way

      Yeah, that sould certainly happen, last season he did 14/4/6 in less than 30 minutes. If he improves some more, especially from three, (I think, the Magic are a great young team to grow with atm) and he manages to stay healthy through an increased amount of minutes, that could easily turn into 25/7/10 in 40 minutes. If you watch the Magic games, he is such a good playmaker there, when he is on the court, so much better than Cole, really looking forward to next season.

    I'm rooting for him. I also love how JJ Reddick defended him against the media in a video during shootaround, cussing out a whole bunch of media guys. You can see him saying "shoot it" too Markelle at 12:55 passing him the ball.

    One error in this video Markelle was born and played high school ball in Maryland. His high school, DeMatha, is located about five minutes away from the University of Maryland actually and they play in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. So he did not stay home when he choose to play for Washington, he moved across the country.

    He didn't "change his shot" until no one BELIEVED he was injured. THAT SIXER ORGANIZATION FAILED HIM MISERABLY. They were an EMBARRASSMENT to the city of PHILADELPHIA'S BASKETBALL COMMUNITY. The people of PHILLY knew better and wanted to continue to groom him but the MEDIA's stupid "he changed his shot" NARRATIVE was relentless... for whatever the MEDIA's reasons.

      Crazy that he's already a vet presence as the rest of our team is so young. He completely changed us when we were healthy - when Kelle was off his minutes restriction, we went 29-28 (over .500)

    If he makes it to All-Star status and reverses that "bust" impression the media and NBA has of him, it would an amazing basketball story. I didn't even know he made such a comeback from those injuries because no one talks about it. But maybe its better for him in the end as it'll make him more hungry to come to the spotlight.

      Unfortunately you never lose that bust title but you can be a bust that manage to turn your career around and do something worthwhile in the league. He didnt pan out to be what people projected him to be and that's ok, man will make his own lane and prosper if he can continue to grow.

    His story is basically another never give up story. He was an amazing basketball player from high school to college and he was even the 1st overall pick in the draft and then he had something that made it hard for him to shoot. But he still didn’t back down. He tore his ACL. And he still hasn’t given up. What a guy.

    There have been number 1 picks that end up bust like Bennet and Kwame and there have been number 1 picks that had career ending injuries like Oden. Fultz is on the verge of overcoming both. He doesn't need to be really good at the 3 pt line, he could be like Demar and dominate the mid range and at the same time be a solid defender on the other end of the court. He could have the biggest comeback of any player in nba history.

    Markelle’s from my city in Maryland and I’m so happy to see him turn his career around for the better. as somebody that’s had shoulder issues and other chronic health issues from sports, I at least somewhat understand what it’s like to deal with undiagnosed injuries and to feel like you’re going crazy. losing confidence in your jumper because of pain is super scary, and I hated hearing so many people criticize him back in 2017-18 for something he had no control over. credit to him for finding a way to fight through it all and become a productive player in the league. he’s only 25 as well; the sky is still the limit for him 🙌

      Fr man Fultz had shoulder injuries but he's slowly getting it together, but Simmons just don't have it in him. I'd rather Simmons convert to being a PF/center if he doesn't want to shoot outside, he should shoot right-handed instead too.

    Im so happy for this guy man. I really wish him so much success. You can tell that he himself was befuddled as we were, seeing him drop off the cliff with his skills like that. His game in Orlando compared to Philly is like night and day. I love his rise from the ashes.

    Fultz has an interesting game, now that is a recovered player and played full time after recovery, I could see him doing great next season. He did great last season all things considered, I also liked his defense

    I don't think it's over for him at all. His skillset is really valuable in an NBA that really values creative playmaking more than before. If a guy like Jalen Brunson can break out as a star, I think there's still plenty of time for Fultz.

      @@bumbino9577 There was still upside on the defensive side and as a slasher even during the darkest days. I wanted the Sixers to keep him, but one of the picks became Maxey so it worked out for both player and team in the end.

    I caught a few of the Magic’s games at the end of last season when they had started playing well. Fultz looked like one of the best players on the court in those games.

    It's hard to surpass Antony Bennett, many 1st "bust" draft picks had decent career or were crippled by injuries, unfortunately Bennett wasn't NBA material.

    Hate to be a dick, but Markelle did not “stay home” to play in college. In fact🤓, he went 2,760 miles from Hyattsville, MD to Seattle, WA. (I’m a salty Maryland fan btw) rooting for Markelle nonetheless!
