maccatori Yeah, it’s all relative I guess. I had the atmosphere nailed for the ‘95 performance with purposefully saved shrooms and that. The overall line up that year was pretty special and considering entry only cost a fiver for a bunk up, it was certainly value for money.
Wild flute, unique voice, and pure pagan energy. England before it was even it was even England and also, the words, the poetry, in rhythm with prosodic care. Merci Robert. You bring back something constant in a world of plastic.
Burn has been my favourite Cure song for 25 years, and I was blown away when they first started playing in in recent years - was lucky enough to see them play it live in 2016 here in New Zealand. Took me back to being 15 again.
I went to see The Crow in 1994 just to hear this song. I never thought they would play it live, then in 2013 they played it Live for the first time in New Orleans. I was lucky to see them play it on their 2016 tour of the US. Such a great song, and a great movie. What's interesting about the song is Robert was a fan of the comic book, The Crow, so when he was asked to do a song for the movie he wrote the song specifically for the movie. None of the other songs in the movie were specifically written for it. The soundtrack is killer nonetheless.
I had no idea the live version of this song would be so damn brilliant!! The Cure still have that signature sound. I think of Brandon and Bruce Lee when I hear this song.
Remember that the original version was recorded with just Robert SMith playing all the instruments (bass, guitars and keyboard) and Boris WIlliams at Drums !!!

And that there is what it (music) is all about. Connection. Enjoy it!
The only other act I saw at Glastonbury this year that was as good and made me feel for live music was Stephen Lewis and the Big Band of Fun..check them out and if you see #EmilyEavis tell her they deserve a bigger stage next year!
@@neilgrant7170 aww, glad to hear it. haha, I will check them out, cheers!
I know exactly what u mean neil
Omg I’m SO jealous! I went to the anniversary film on July 11th & couldn’t believe how amazing Robert/the entire band sounded. I’ve only seen them live twice-the Wish tour & the 2016 concert in Boise ID. I think he’s like a fine wine & his voice only gets better with age.
Un moment arrive dans les concerts de Cure où toutes les digues de l'émotion ont explosé, c'est une extase particulière que je n'ai pas trouvé ailleurs et que je ne sais pas exprimer. Je sais beaucoup me comprendront. Je me lasse pas de cette vidéo qui est un exemple parfait.
Someone is cutting onions again
R.I.P Brandon Lee aka Eric Draven aka The Crow
Explain please. 😊
Elaine Crompton The crow is a comic book adaptation which came out in 1994, it stared Brandon Lee, the son of martial artist Bruce Lee. During the production of the crow Brandon was accidentally killed. This song is featured in the sound track. ruclips.net/video/gieOlKPyFSM/видео.html
Still don't get what this got to do with the Cure .
southerner4566 the song is featured in the crow soundtrack.
Thanks for the reply, I've never seen The crow , Maybe I should watch it .
Guys I’m just gonna say it... Brandon Lee’s spirit graced the stage on this performance
I agree.
i say it stood on the top of the stage in full black, watching on
before flying off once again
@@PChamileon97 yep.
CLASSIC SONG PLAY LOUD FOREVER Brandon Lee The Crow
His Voice never gets older! Amazing!
Roberts voice is outstanding
Never fails. I always get goosebumps listening to this song.
Me too.
Me too
Yes! Me too!
Me too!
The drumming on this song really stands out live, incredible. Whole band sounds good but those drums, simply relentless...in a modern mainstream band context that drum would be overlaid loops on playback...so enjoy it while you can folks!
Tribal
Agreed
So agree with the drums Incredible!!!
I saw them in Hyde Park in 2018 and the memory of the drumming there still gives me shivers today.
@@ushidoe4122 the drumming is also what gets me to the bone!!it is eerie but i love it so much that i play this video everyday!!
Brandon Lee we haven’t forgotten you RIP ❤️
Hot damn, they still got it! 30 years later and this song still gets me pumped up.
Genuinely one of the best Glastonbury headliners ever, a seminal moment in the festival's history!
Adam Knight
They were better in ‘95 I reckon.
@@Elephantstonica it's down to personal preference I think. Don't think better but different as was 1990 which was arguably more dramatic due to what happened 40 or so minutes into the set!
@@Elephantstonica I was at the last three, I think this was the best. The sound was incredible. 90 was weird just after the Prayer Tour and as he said, they just weren't ready. 95 was good but lacked the atmosphere of this one.
maccatori
Yeah, it’s all relative I guess.
I had the atmosphere nailed for the ‘95 performance with purposefully saved shrooms and that.
The overall line up that year was pretty special and considering entry only cost a fiver for a bunk up, it was certainly value for money.
Dream on. The Cure were at their peak around 1990.
Props to the person who mixed this! Doesn't get enough credit to this superb mix.
Wild flute, unique voice, and pure pagan energy. England before it was even it was even England and also, the words, the poetry, in rhythm with prosodic care. Merci Robert. You bring back something constant in a world of plastic.
Honestly Robert sounds better as he gets older. Can't say that about many singers.
There are plenty of opera singers who've been at their peak at over sixty years old.
Richard Ashcroft
90s smith is waaay better
@@workingtitle7049 shhhhhh
Part of that was he never smoked.
The first Cure song I heard (From the masterpiece, The Crow, soundtrack) and my favourite Cure song! Amazing they played this
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS !! I've never heard this live !!
Best one
Burn has been my favourite Cure song for 25 years, and I was blown away when they first started playing in in recent years - was lucky enough to see them play it live in 2016 here in New Zealand. Took me back to being 15 again.
me too!!
yes, me too!
Possibly the best soundtrack ever as bad as the second movie was the soundtrack for that was sick too
I've said it on many social media platforms but Robert Smith's genius is criminally underrated
This song is genius, and I'm a rock and roller...
What Robert Smith is as famous as they come!! They wouldn't give him a part on South Park otherwise.
The Cure ------ "Burn" ... absolut Amazing !! ... R.I.P. Brandon Lee ......
This song is from the movie The Crow. Main character is Eric Draven where I get my name. Rest in peace Brandon Lee 🙏🏻
Rest in peace Brandon.
Aka : Eric Draven
Brandons masterpiece one to stick in the mind....
I had no idea the live version of this song would be so damn brilliant!! The Cure still have that signature sound. I think of Brandon and Bruce Lee when I hear this song.
Remember that the original version was recorded with just Robert SMith playing all the instruments (bass, guitars and keyboard) and Boris WIlliams at Drums !!!
it's true: the emotions you feel when you listen to songs like this , leave marks in your hearts that time can never erase.
I literally cried when I heard this. 2 days is all it took to create a musical masterpiece.
Rob sounds amazing
this has a different energy than the recorded one. My favourite band of all time !!
Rest in peace Brandon Lee.
No need for a crow remake. This film, and the original score, is legendary.
How is his voice still this good?!?
It hasn't change in 30 years. Good care and good luck I guess.
well it wasn't a few years ago, you could barely understand him but he seems to have gotten back on form.
Them drum rolls awaken the soul. That melody calms it.
Cures any despair. 🖤
Sound like someone running through the jungle with the crow after him..
the lyrics ignites my passionate energy
This is the first time I ever heard of this song live, totally awesome.
One of the most masterful songs by the Cure, the drum beat throughout this is amazing and it continues to increase through the song.
The crow Brandon lee 1965 - 1993 R.I.P
When I first read that they are playing this live i almost flipped my desk in my office
And finally when i went to see them live on that tour i waited the whole show just to hear this one song ( not that the other ones are not good or anything don't get me wrong ) i was the only person to dance and sing like a lunatic while other probably did not know what song that is ( poor bastards )
Hearing my favorite song live the first time was cathartic and uplifting I hope and wish you felt at least as good as I did that night
Cheers to all Crow fans
Keep Brandon's memory alive !
I bought the soundtrack for this song. Would have been right there belting it out with you.
Good to follow your dream man. Way to go...
Couldn't believe they played this. An obscure fan favourite from the awesome The Crow soundtrack. Love this band. New album please
Black Sunshine they’ve been playing Burn for the past few years now; Voodoo Festival in the US was it’s first appearance. I remember Robert Smith saying they’d never play it out of respect for Brandon Lee; I’m guessing though ‘It can’t rain all the time’.
@@davidanderson1639 I never knew. Got loads of their past performances but seen nothing recently. A welcome and nice surprise for me. It certainly cant rain all the time lol RIP
This has been a live staple for some time now

Fascinating track. Not only is Roberts voice just awesome, but just listen to the guitar solo from 3:08 and the switch-up at 3:53. If you don't get goosebumps at that, quite frankly you aren't human!

The privledged crowd do not know how rare they play this live. The band had a deep respect for Brandon Lee
Love the spooky feeling...that sky, the wind, the flags plus the music. Epic intro
It was a truly exceptional performance on a warm , windy English summer evening. I had the good fortune of being there on that lovely Sunday evening watching the best in the business deliver a knock-out set. After that , there was a killer set by DJ tennis just around the corner.
If you get the chance, by hook or by crook, get tickets for next year’s festival. It blew me away...
When that flute plays you know what's up.
The spirit of Avalon has you...
@@joliecide No joke...especially when it's Robert doin deus
I hate the term legend....so Robert is just a spiritual force of nature. Utterly mesmerizing.
the drummer is insane! man i wish we had more music like this.
Robert and Simon Jason on the drums just blew me away
