As the one who taught this class. I am a science teacher. What some seemed to miss is that I didn't only teach science. I also taught English and Grade 10 Christian Ethics. This was done in our Grade 10 Christian Ethics class. It had nothing to do with Science.

I believe that teachers should not stop learning and searching for a change. when the teacher changed her point view about teaching, she gives the students a chance to learn better and make a differance.

In all of the classes I took in college were never taught by leading teachers in America except one. He started out his career as a janitor. The second person who encouraged me had been a high school dropout. The third person had founded one of the top schools in the world. It was because of those people that I developed what became the top program in CA in what I taught.

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, DL, FRS, RA was tutored by a teacher who decided to use student-driven learning and he ended up Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, during the Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955.

I liked the story. It is similar to my own experience of my diploma (TEPD) in QRTA in Jordan. It is really a changing point in my view on teaching. Teaching is now no longer a method of spoon feeding and direct teaching. It is the way how students construct their knowledge and allowed to share most of the parts of their learning .However, to be more realistic, it could be hard to ignore the dominant educational system in my country which considers exams the only way of assessing students and jump through grades after which the students sit for a General Certificate of Secondary Education Exam-Tawjihi.
It is worth contemplating a phrase from the video describing the students “we are not the future, we are now” ,and I agree with the idea that students are often able to exceed our expectations of them if we only give them a chance. The role of a teacher should be to trigger the lesson and facilitate the students’ active learning by allowing them to discuss and explore knowledge by themselves.
The inspiring part is how children can design a school inside their school. I can apply this suggestion to engage my students in designing my lessons. I can ask them to create their own design of the lesson and suggest the supporting materials.

Connection: we have the same experience when we were at school we have traditional way and the one who was always talking teacher . also, we read for exams.
Challenge :role of the teacher, students ability to do more and search.
Concepts :students can design their schools .
Change: students come with new thought .

It is the time to alternate the traditional learning strategy to the most effective one. The changes start from the teachers. We need an effective teacher to discover the student's creativity. A teacher who has the ability to challenge and inspire students in learning.

I think that that the teachers need to attend pre-service training programs for the purpose of being ready for teaching. They also have to be followed by a professional teachers until they become a professional ones . Today ,teachers' role is to make a creative, independent, and life-long learners.

You know, I really love it... but what CCS does that use? We are now given framework booklets and are forced to teach certain material and types of test questions in a certain amount of time. The kids have to pass their 15 standardized tests to prove that you had been teaching those particular things from your subject. If I put this into my lesson plan, like an awesome goal to help people, my principal would say, "and how is this helping them pass the iLEAP test so that our school isn't a D school anymore?"

I think that while this was a situation for a Christian ethics class a lot of the same principals could be applied to a science or math or any other class. Asking them how they would learn best is a great start - finding what in the sciences a student might be passionate about and are there ways to take learning out of the classroom ect.

Hi fellow teachers. I am looking to have three teachers answer these questions. Any takers?
    Teacher Interview Questions:
How much of a priority is it for you to teach your students how to use the technology that you integrate into your class lessons?
What are your main sources for discovering the latest in educational technologies?
What have you found to be the best ways to assess the effectiveness of an integrated educational technology?
On a scale of 1-10, how effective do you believe your school is in the area of teaching digital literacy? What steps would you suggest for your school that may increase your school a few points on the scale?
How do the teachers and administrators who take the lead in the use of technology in the classrooms share their experiences, ideas, and knowledge with other teachers?
What has been the most effective piece of technology that you currently use to create authentic learning experiences for your students?
How have recent education technologies been integrated into your assessments?
How has edu. technologies made a difference in the differentiation of your instruction, content, and assessments for various learners?
How have you noticed students using available technology to support their learning process?

I think we should be more aware to engaging students and believing in them, but it has to be with an axis of knowledge (not information).

What this teacher is talking about is called Inquiry-based learning (IBL) where students learn by seeking deep questions and researching on what truly interests them. Hope this helps! I am a huge fan of this approach to teaching and learning.
