Concrete pad idea, I can help you with the concrete and I bet me and you could probably tackle it! I live near you in Oklahoma I believe.. You actually inspire and have helped me out, so I would love to help you out. I have over 10 years experience pouring concrete with my families concrete business started by my grandpa. My mother is a great fan of your channel as well lol
Your property and your animals and your final decision is all up to you and Marci, not your viewers. Just like decisions about your home and your children. They are YOURS. YOU DO WHAT YOU THINK IS BEST. ❤😊❤
Crandall, that such a huge job, and it's extremely important for the pad to be perfect. Since you haven't done something this large then I recommend you hire that job out.
Never underestimate a woman. During WW2, my mom was not in the Army, but she worked For the army and drove a right hand drive Dump truck across a ferry at the mouth of the Columbia River! She was 18.
I totally understand your frustration Marci. Married for 40 years and ask all the time for opinion but was useless to give cause I was never right. Just learn to live with it. Cause it’s not going to change.
I’m sorry Crandall. I know you are disappointed about the pond. Im glad you’re filling it in so the boys can run amuck without the danger. After the fenced play yard is done Marcie and you can breathe easier for the boys playing outside. Hugs sweetie. Call 3 guys from the church or you tubers and yes do the concrete. Either that or do it in two pours. 2 pours 20 x 40 ft. You could handle with just another friend. Rent a big float and do a broom finish.
My brother and his business partner have several reefer containers they use as storage space for their canning and produce business (they sell their products at local farmers markets) The containers have electricity as they have freezers and a commercial refrigerator also in them. They luckily know people with the skills that help them with ac and power.
Ohhhh Crandall! I completely understand frustration that comes from previous home owners calling the Mickey Mouse contractors, and or subcontractors, or home repairs made by extended family of the Mickey brigade! At 71, as you explained the frig repair by that mouse group....I was gritting my gums for ya😮😂😂😂
Crandall, I did not think the pond was a good idea, but I never wished for it to fail. I don’t feel like I’ve gotten my way because you filled it in. I’m sorry that you feel discouraged. I’ve only wished for success for your family & your endeavors, even when I don’t 100% approve. This is your homestead, your dreams & ideas. I’m only here as an observer & cheerleader. I hope that you are all soon feeling your best again.
Poor Marci. You need a ladies day with your sister. Crandall needs a day off too. Maybe grandparents need a grandchild day. A reset always helps. You both go at 100 miles an hour non stop. Keep going your both doing great. These are the days your making memories ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm wondering if that pond was a quicksand pit. It had a spring feeding it, just add sand. That might be why all the garbage was buried there. You guys are making a ton of progress.
We brought our refrigerator off clearance. When it was delivered, the handle for the bottom freezer was broken. We couldn’t return it. After about 4 years of opening the freezer from the sides, I had someone put a screw in the broken end and it has been wonderful. Have someone do the concrete for you, less stressful for you and Marci.
If 1 container is exacting where you want it, just measure how far away the back of the 2nd container is from the back of the 1st, and then the distance between the the front. That should put them at parallel to each other
😂Cajun Country Livin’ is building a shop using shipping containers. They poured a large concrete pad first then set the shipping containers on the pad and anchored them well. They are building a storm shelter in the back of one container.
If you plan to use the pad to park cars on or if you deal with extreme temp changes from summer to winter you will need rebar in the slab and possibly footings every so many feet going below the frost line to prevent shifting and warping making the slab crack and degrade. If you think you can tackle that I say go for it you never know what you can do until you try. If anything it will last a good 3 to 5 years allowing you to save more money to put in a more sturdy slab latter. As long as the shipping containers and support beams are not sitting on the slab it shouldn't affect you roof alignment the only thing that would affect that is if the shipping containers themself shift or settle into the ground throwing off the levelness.
Crandall and Marci you are so fun! It was cool that you got into the Skidsteer to help. Who knew you could drive a beast like that. I've never had the opportunity. It must have been a bit fun. You and the kids are going to love watching this little gem sometime in the future! I wouldn't have the patience to fiddle around trying to fix it. I'd tell them to pick up the bucket of bolts and bring one with some power and a track that stays on! 👍🏼👍🏼
There is so much to do, and with a family there never seems to be enough time....I raised 4 under 5, and their father traveled out of town or overseas often...projects took forever...Y'all are actually blessed with time....
Gosh so glad pond going. It kept messing up and the water didn't look too good. If you have friends that can professionally set up for a concrete pad, you order the pour of concrete. Whatever you think. Ask God what's the best way. Hugs and love, Janet 🇺🇸🗽🙏
Marci you are awesome - us women know what we are taking about- men only THINK they know… gorgeous couple. Love watching your family and congrats on all the hard work…..❤ keep smiling 💕💕
See if you can order the handle. Look for the model number go from there. I do that. My fridge was for real bought in 1994 and we can still get parts. As lo g a youclean the under side pull it out from the wall clean tbe back it will give you longevity. I telling you this frigde really is that age. I have the warrenty book and wrote the date of purchase on it. Good Luck!
Oh Crandall what have you done. Lol personally, I would hire someone that had some knowledge in this sort of thing. Since it’s so big and you won’t want to have it wrong. Go Marci go. Lol nice going on your shop. It’s looking fine. Thank you for the video.
Love your family and you too. I was wondering why you are putting concrete around the shipping containers, and not under. It would help you with the leveling I think. And I would probably hire out the concrete. That is way better since you have not done something this large.❤❤
I’ve seen a few negative comments on every video. Don’t let the ear worms mess with your minds. You are both doing great! Some insert their controlling ways even on people they don’t know. that’s all it is, controlling behaviour. Telling you what project you should be doing, telling you what to do with your kids, property, each other etc.. they have the issues, not you two.
Crandall, so sad to see the pond go. RIP! Marci, looks like you were having fun driving the skid steer and you did an awesome job! Crandall, awesome job on the shipping containers. Looking forward to your next vlog.❤
Crandall, I love how ur giving Marci first time lessons on the skid steer then when ur done fixing it, she just takes off on it like a pro 😂. Awesome Marci. Great job. I would like to see her working that machine more. ❤
I saw one channel called white house on the hill they are building an aviary but they had a really neat water feature built that has little ponds for the ducks and it circulates with a filter and everything and the small ponds are deep enough they can relax in the water if they want not real deep. Something like that in your gazebo area would be cool , something nice to look at but not real deep.
Get the concrete professionals to pour the concrete, it will be a massive help to get that job done you can level it yourself or maybe get self leveling concrete
I am excited with your idea of a pool & gazebo & a fenced in play area. I worry about you in the extreme heat. Sorry about your dream of a pond didn’t work out now. Sometimes things happen for a reason that we never know the why behind. Marci, I❤how you go outside & try anything! For someone who didn’t like being outside you sure have turned into an awesome homesteader! You have fresh eggs & pumpkins too! 🎃🎃🎃
Watching you fill it in I kept thinking it looked like a beach. When you said it was sand I guess I knew why. Working out on days like that kind of make you wish for an outdoor shower. Jumping in clothes and all just to rinse all the dust and mud off. Cools you off and a hot day working so hard in the heat.
Nothing wrong with admitting a change is needed or that something did not work as you hoped. This is how we learn and grow. I pray the haters stay silent!
If the goats keep getting out you may need to put a fence around your vegetable plants sad that you are filling in the pond and getting rid of ducks 😢I would love to be on that machine well done Marci ❤❤❤❤❤
I knew Marci would want to do more with that skid-steer (sp?) once you got in it. That was awesome! Crandall you are a good hard worker, but I think you'd be lost without Marci...and her dry humor just cracks me up.
I’m sorry Crandall. I know you are disappointed about the pond. Im glad you’re filling it in so the boys can run amuck without the danger. After the fenced play yard is done Marcie and you can breathe easier for the boys playing outside. You can use a mini split for the containers. BUT. I really wish you would reroof the house and finish the entertainment center before u do a shop. Hugs sweetie
My brother is a builder and he was standing on it very high, and the ladder moved some. And he failed and broke his shoulder. Be careful better safe than sorry.
There's no doubt you can do the concrete work with just one maybe two good friends ,I'm sure you could buy or rent the bullfloat needed but I've seen what you can accomplish I've got faith in ya. 👍
Crandall, I wouldn't put the containers on there until you lay the concrete, and then I would slide the containers over the top of it. I think it would look better. And you'd probably be better off if you did the concrete in sections , it would be easier to handle the concrete. Justa thought. I love watching your channel and your beautiful family. ❤
it would be better to have someone come do it, you have so much that you can do around the yard and house. give yourself a break and take your time to make sure you know where you want things in your shop. It is a big endeavor.
Concrete pad idea, I can help you with the concrete and I bet me and you could probably tackle it! I live near you in Oklahoma I believe.. Aww that's so lovely ❤❤❤
Thats very kind of you to offer to help this family out godbless you
This is what the world needs more of, your kindness to offer help to this amazing young man.
The world needs more people like you 🙏
Your property and your animals and your final decision is all up to you and Marci, not your viewers.
Sorry to see the pond to go but it's will be safer for the boys.
The concrete pad, hire someone to deliver the concrete that’s too much for you and then it’s done in one day
Never underestimate a woman. During WW2, my mom was not in the Army, but she worked For the army and drove a right hand drive Dump truck across a ferry at the mouth of the Columbia River! She was 18.
Kevin(HIDDEN HEIGHTS FARM)put a system in his shop so MOJO can go in there to cool off in his old age
Sorry to see the pond project go. No worries, your priorities, and we’re here to support you.
A “mini split”is great for smaller areas for cooling and heating.
Definitely hire that slab pour
The should bring you a new machine. Never heard of renter repairing
Impressive Marci! You have that on cam forever for the boys!🚜
I totally understand your frustration Marci. Married for 40 years and ask all the time for opinion but was useless to give cause I was never right. Just learn to live with it. Cause it’s not going to change.

Oh well, ponds bring in mosquitoes and snakes!

I give you credit for giving a shot with the pond project, sometimes things don’t always go as planned and we move forward
Sorry about your pond. But the containers are going to keep you busy🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm thinking hire someone. The slab is the most important part of the build and you want done perfect.
Your life, your choice. You had plans in place to make it safe. I am sad to see it go, but you already have plans for the future
Might be a good idea to wear a mask while you fill in the pond. That sand is like silt. Love to you all ❤
Great idea about the pond, I always worry about the boys being around it. When they get bigger get a pool. GOD BLESS!
Solar power on top of containers @ Crandall. Make sure you put that white sealant on it also. The container will last longer.😊
Raised 5 kids with a pond. Best times we had were fishing and swimming.
Crandall, I did not think the pond was a good idea, but I never wished for it to fail. I don’t feel like I’ve gotten my way because you filled it in. I’m sorry that you feel discouraged. You two are a hoot😂😂. God’s blessings
Mix some sand with good garden compost and the cow manure compost when you fill your containers for your raised beds and it will do great
😂Cajun Country Livin’ is building a shop using shipping containers. They poured a large concrete pad first then set the shipping containers on the pad and anchored them well. They are building a storm shelter in the back of one container.
Crandall doesn't know his own strength! Poor refrigerator. LoL
😂
You are making some good choices. Crandall can fix anything. Looking good Marci. Mom on a mission.
Please consider anchoring your shipping containers. They are just like mobile homes!
I think that's a big job and that you should pay someone to do it so you don't have all that hazel.
If you plan to use the pad to park cars on or if you deal with extreme temp changes from summer to winter you will need rebar in the slab and possibly footings every so many feet going below the frost line to prevent shifting and warping making the slab crack and degrade. Your renting right? It should be up to the renters to fix. I would expect them to replace with the better one
Not rented
Crandall and Marci you are so fun! It was cool that you got into the Skidsteer to help. Who knew you could drive a beast like that. I've never had the opportunity. It must have been a bit fun. You and the kids are going to love watching this little gem sometime in the future!

I would look at the containers from inside the house...that way if look out, it won't look crooked ❤
Good job, Marci. You are a quick learner.
Oh Crandall what have you done. Lol personally, I would hire someone that had some knowledge in this sort of thing. Since it’s so big and you won’t want to have it wrong. Go Marci go. Lol nice going on your shop. It’s looking fine. Thank you for the video.

So fun watching y'all, place is looking good!
Love the daily vlogs

I had to laugh looking at Crandall putting his hands on his hips. He looks just like a big Maverick. 😂 ❤
Hope everyone gets better soon.❤❤❤❤❤
Definitely hire a company to do the cement that's a big area it be worth it. Bummer about filling in the pond.
Woo-hoo Go Marci Go Marci. Thanks Crandall for teaching Marci.😊❤Team work.
Crandall, so sad to see the pond go. RIP! Marci, looks like you were having fun driving the skid steer and you did an awesome job! Crandall, awesome job on the shipping containers. Looking forward to your next vlog.❤
Crandall hirer someone that is a big job and you will have lots to do afterwards
Hey kids! You're a cute couple and great partners in life. You both said I DO a long time ago! Lol 😂 keep smiling! God loves you all!
18:57 makes me sad for y’all to get rid of the ducks. Mav loves them. 😢
When you said this work is for nothing I thought the container idea didn’t work! I was freaking, lol
Will the ducks leave now that you have no water for them?
Crandall, I love how ur giving Marci first time lessons on the skid steer then when ur done fixing it, she just takes off on it like a pro 😂. Awesome Marci. Great job. I would like to see her working that machine more. ❤

Marci, you got it going. Great mom , super great wife, and great helper for your husband ❤❤❤
I've never heard of a car/truck having over 400,000 miles on it! It must be a world record!
Team work makes the dream work. This is going to be awesome guys. 😊😊
I just love watching you guys! That is weird with so much sand.
You go girl. I’m so proud of you Marci.
Can't wait for tomorrow's video! It going to be an awesome shop!
Good work Marci!
Get the concrete professionals to pour the concrete, it will be a massive help to get that job done you can level it yourself or maybe get self leveling concrete
I would definitely spray foam for insulation
You got it covered. Just like the building you just did. Praying you saved alot on your containers. Can't wait , gonna try and do dry pour?

You did it, Mommy. Good job, Marci.
Save some sand for gardening if you have clay. Make a pile somewhere.
When I 🚻 into kind of the same thing with containers everyone recommended concrete pad under containers with anchors
was funny see Marcy on the skid steer riding away having fun
I’m enjoying your daily work videos 🥰

for me this is a sad day, I had hopes that it would seal once it got saturated , but it hasn't. by pond. I think how you must feel with all that work.
wow Marci how awesome you did a great job for your first time your boys are going to be able to watch this back and see there mom driving the tractor
I knew Marci would want to do more with that skid-steer (sp?) once you got in it. That was awesome! Crandall you are a good hard worker, but I think you'd be lost without Marci...and her dry humor just cracks me up.
Go to thermal King they make coolers for those trucks. They run on diesel or electricity or both that way if your power goes out you stay cold.
That was a good decision filling in the pond with little boys about
They should have sent someone out right away to reoair it.
Couldn't you just measure the distance between the front and back corners to square it up with stakes or markings .
I’ve seen a tornado pick one of those containers up and just spin around and dropped in a different spot. Really scary!
How about an air conditioner from a camper trailer. It goes on the roof. Campers also come with propane heaters.
I’m sorry Crandall. I know you are disappointed about the pond. Im glad you’re filling it in so the boys can run amuck without the danger. Paint white or something reflective. Any Insulation who will give you a deal for advertising their product?
