What wonderful waterfalls, the noise was phenomenal but I loved it. The images you got were awsome and I really did like them all. I did like the landscape version but I loved it when you cropped it into a square image, it just seemed to focus on all that was great about the photo. I wasn’t too keen on the portrait version, well not till the last one you put up, your favourite, Wow! It became my favourite too, such a detailed image and showed off the are around the falls and including the falls at its very best in nature. Cheers Paul 😁👍
One thing we do get a lot of in Wales is water and there was plenty coming over the falls in the first location you were at Paul. Agree with you on your favourite image as the branch doesn't impinge on the waterfall which it does in the previous shot. 📷👏👏
Great video Paul, that first falls was amazing, so I did it, I took your advice and went out the other day after being inspired by your video. I made my own video and gave you a shout out near the end, thanks for giving me that kick up the arse to get out.
Hello Paul. Thanks for this video. I'm going there on Saturday. I've been to quite a few waterfalls in area but not this one. Your video is very helpful to me. I like to watch others before I go any where. I'm new to RUclips, rubbish with technology, but slowly learning. In a month or 2 I'm hoping to improve and use a camera too. I have a Nikkon D5000, haven't used it in years since my kids were little. Think it stil ok for photos. Thank you for this video. You have loads more too.😁 I'll slowly check them out, especially as I start to use a camera for better shots. At the moment I just use my phone. Your vids are very high standard. Thanks.👋👍
Sorry i am Dyslexic and i spell wrong sometimes, i have been told the TO should be TOO... if you like the Atoll camera mount here is a link to see more. ruclips.net/video/QuIYbR-ALKA/видео.html
Wow certainly a lot of water at the first waterfall. No wonder you couldn't get a shot, but you managed to get some really nice image's at the other location.
Up to around the mid 90's, significant parts of sgwd yr Eira would freeze, and there'd be 20 foot long icicles like tree trunks, sometimes for weeks at a time - especially in the sixties and seventies. It's quite rare to see it freeze now the climate is changing so rapidly.
As I get older the more waterfalls I seem to shoot. The views from the top of mountains are a little beyond my hip joints these days. I get there, slowly, but I pay for it for a few days afterwards. So waterfalls it is, I've got a few favourite 'secret' ones that nobody goes to. They aren't even far from roads but as people head for all the tourist traps and honeypots I get them to myself.
Wow, there's some power there in the waterfalls, Beautiful. I tried to get the Attol camera mount, but it won't fit over the Canon EF L lenses, at back end of the lens, the diameter is too big. I wish they did one a bit bigger,
Next time you are down get Danks to show you Gam, it's up river grom Gwladus and it's an adventure to actually get to it but worth the effort. I was there when it was frozen prior to Xmas if you fancy want to see what its like. I find Melincourt Falls messy to photograph even when there is not a lot of water, impressive to see but photographically I find the cascades further up stream better - if you want exact co-ords next time you are down let me know. There is a deep area closer to the falls itself - deep enough for people who are stupid/mad enough to jump off.
Hi Paul, just come across your site. Love your presentation and the images. Wish I had found it earlier. In a previous vlog you showed us an alternative to the L bracket - what is it please???
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking of buying this Jacket. Do you have any recommendations for a waterproof shell jacket?
The more impressive waterfalls are over the other side of the valley, first discovered these in 1984 didn’t see many people then, definitely autumn is the best time of year. Just above that first one you shot is a waterfall you’ll rarely see because you have to cross the river a couple of times. The falls on the other side has been in the news as two women lost their lives there , that bend at the top of the ogmore valley we call the keyhole bend btw

they are making one now
Great video and pictures Paul, do you know what causes that brown tinge to the water we see in most of the UK streams?
the brown is the peat it flows through
Both second shots
thanks
