I watched several Here Be Barr videos before my May 2021 NYC visit, because it was my 1st time, and this video was IT! It took me 3 tries to get up to the Magic Hour Rooftop Lounge, as there was a line & long wait every night. They suggested online reservations, but the system wouldn't let me make reservations for 1. I tried calling, but after several attempts only reached voice mail. On night 4 I got lucky- it rained! And the rooftop crowd left. By this time, the security man at the front recognized me & made sure I got a place at the bar. I enjoyed myself SO much I made personal reservations for the next night! I had 1 other rooftop lounge where I hung out every night- the Monarch. The servers were fantastic, the other patrons made me feel welcome & the view of the Empire State Building towering above us made for my most epic vacation pics! This was supposed to be my once in a lifetime tour. But I had SO much fun at these places & missed just enough of Brooklyn & Staten Island that I may go back in 2022! See you at the bar, Barr!

Cash if you want or you open a "tab". They hold your credit card and at the end they swipe the card, give you a receipt and you sign + leave a signed tip/gratuity.
Those are some really awesome rooftop spots, I've been to 230 Fifth once and its great, another cool rooftop bar is called Top of the Strand, its right next to my job and has a great view of empire state building.

The new Steinway skyscraper with the Central Park in center view should open a rooftop lounge. I would totally go after Sunday matinee at the Met Opera.
I wanted to reserve a table at the gramercy bar area, the more luxury one, but it says there are only bookings for 2 guests, not for single guests? can I stilll make the reservation?

I'll be in NYC in late November to December...not sure how the climate would be, but I wanted to experience a rooftop bar. Do they open during this period and is it advisable to do so?
@@MaubyMaster69 I would say pack some warm clothes dude December will get very very cold. But at the same time pack a lil bit of clothes that you use to wear when inside also don't forget to bring gloves. NYC weather is very random so one day it will be hot another will be super cold

We took a ferry from Dumbo to North Williamsburg to make the experience more epic. I highly recommend it too. Thanks for your videos. I love NYC more because of them

Rooftops are always open you can check the times and dates in their websites also November is kinda chilly so I recommend keeping a hoody/jacket
