Every week it’s something about Ron Simmons Great Character. But the old WWE crew didn’t care enough about him to give him a title shot.
Why would they be so retarded? Ron Simmons horribly bombed when he was WCW World Champion. He completely destroyed their business (Watts even called it one of the worst mistakes he ever made) and proved that he wasn't a draw beyond the midcard.
@@shadowangel4303 Ron got over big in WCW, as top champion. With Watts biggest mistake was his mouth and it cost him his job.
@@rumarspencer7302 Are you from an alternate dimension? Because here in this reality, Ron Simmons bombed like rarely any other wrestler before or after. House Show averages declined from 2,960 (Sting & Vader as Champions) to just 930 in December with him as Champ (and instantly jumped back up to 1,590 when Vader had the belt in January again and climbed every month of his reign)
On December 5 a measly 692 people filled the 5,000 seat Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minnesota to watch Ron Simmons...
He did so bad at TV and PPVs, that he even was put in the midcard, far away from the main event.
@@shadowangel4303 See you putting him down personally, instead of just being happy that he accomplished the main belt. Attendance stuff doesn't erase what he could do in the ring, then you choose to be negative, there's been plenty of wrestlers that haven't drawn well, but it doesn't erase their accomplishment and popularity.
@@rumarspencer7302 Well the sole point of a wrestler in the business is to draw crowds, to sell merchandise and make money.
Yeah, it's nice for him that he got a belt that means actually not that much outside the business but that doesn't divert away from the fact that he was a monumental failure at what he was supposed to do: Draw and make money.
And it says a lot fhat not even in 2000, when WCW was unwatchably awful, the numbers declined to the level they declined when Simmons was Champion.
I don't know what that is so difficult for you to accept.
