The woman vaginally egg laying at the end, which hatches into a smiling engineer-human thing was a bit of a misstep, expecially with how rain uses the acid left in the broken egg to dissolve the floor of her ship to create a hole that it gets sucked through. @@ImpressionBlend I still like Prometheus more compared to Covenant. It had Noomi Rapace too (an actress that I like) and I also first saw it in 3D (back then I think the 3D was still a fairly new thing for movies 😅). I still remember that scene when that big ship crashes down and I kinda felt a need to raise my arm (like out of fear of that ship being ready to fall on me 😂 it was an amazing feeling back then / it looked so damn real). I also saw that with my brother who back then visited us kinda rarely (from other country that he was living in) ..like once or twice a year so it was extra special to see that movie in our home city and in the movie theater. I will never hate that Prometheus movie 😂 I have some good memories with it (from my first viewing). Me and my brother had a good time watching it (we didn't exit from the movie theater like a bunch of haters of that movie / as SOME other people from around the world ..MAY have been) 😂. I even have it on a bluray disc in my movies collection.
@@cianeck6993 Prometheus is still one of my favorite movies. It was disappointing that they just left that story line from Alien Covenant on a huge cliff hanger and never planned to wrap it up. Very frustrating because I liked the cast. Now they are doing another spin off? Nothing will ever compare to the first 4 Alien movies. But Prometheus was close for me. I will still check out the new movie.
@@ConsciousSoul2I love Prometheus and invested so much to the series too. It is so disheartening to me they just forgo the series. Therefore I was not so excited with this new alien movie at all but after the viewing, I could say I am surprisingly satisfied with this movie and the hype is no lie!
@@Taku10619 Right on, I will defiantly check it out . I just hate having something that huge left unfinished. They could have done so much with the Prometheus story line. 😁
That whole portion was laughable and unnecessary. I found the pregnant woman uninteresting, so I couldn't wait for her to be killed by the alien. Instead, she gives birth to the most ridiculous CGI fail I have seen in quite some time. Fail.
@ImpressionBlend I am so damn excited for this movie that I actually decided to watch the entire franchise past aliens for the first time ever and honestly, I don’t see why people hate Alien 3 so much, was it a major step down in quality from the first 2 films? Absolutely it was, however I thought it still had it’s great moments particularly the chase sequence between the Alien and the prisoners on Fury the prison planet was pretty intense and fantastic. I don’t know it was a major step down in quality in my opinion but, I didn’t outright hate it like a lot of people did I thought there was some interesting ideas brought to the franchise in it personally.
Thanks for keeping the conversation interesting Marianna, I would love an Alien unpacking. I just purchased the currently available post of William Gibson’s Alien^3. [I also have the version Dark Knight Comics had before… well you know 🐭] Off topic, After I finish listening to the Grapes of Wrath, I am listening to Anne Applebaum’s Red Famine.
I don't understand why people don't like CGI beloved characters, if it doesn't look like cgi people would still say "oh, hmm, but he is dead", i like when i see cgi of characters regardless of quality
For me the third act ruined the experience, unfortunately, I believe it's better to keep things simple. But there was a lot to love, still. Love to watch your reviews and would really enjoy to know your thoughts on the prequels 🙂
Can't wait to see this i was so impressed with his evil dead 2013 remake of the film he done. From all the trailers i've been seeing from his new alien films looks what i wanted from Prometheus and Covenant but failed back to it roots from the the first 2 Alien films

Next week, sorry, it’s my birthday this week
@@ImpressionBlend Oh no worries at all, I just look forward to them after every episode! Hope you have a Happy Birthday!!!! 😊🎉🎈🎂
Thank you! ☺️
I love aliens, but when I saw the trailer, i thought it looked like a poor Netflix movie.
Really? I can't say the trailers gave me that impression
The trailer was not so appealing to me as a very dedicated alien fan, but the movie itself really succeeds in many aspects surprisingly. Trust the hype! You will love it if you love alien & aliens!
Didn't alien covenant also bring back the horror element?
I mean… it tried, especially compared to “Prometheus”. But “Romulus” is a lot more successful on that front.

Prometheus is still one of my favorite movies.
I'm still conflicted about the "2nd ending with the hybrid." Maybe I'll come around when i watch it a 2nd time
That whole portion was laughable and unnecessary. I found the pregnant woman uninteresting, so I couldn't wait for her to be killed by the alien. Instead, she gives birth to the most ridiculous CGI fail I have seen in quite some time.
Fail.
Space: where no one can hear you *MEME.*
Man it'd be awesome if something similar could be done to the Terminator franchise.
I don’t know it was a major step down in quality in my opinion but, I didn’t outright hate it like a lot of people did I thought there was some interesting ideas brought to the franchise in it personally.
agree with you about the CGI character...didnt need to be "him"...coule have been someone else...avoiding spoilers here
Thanks for keeping the conversation interesting Marianna, I would love an Alien unpacking. I just purchased the currently available post of William Gibson’s Alien^3. [I also have the version Dark Knight Comics had before… well you know 🐭]
Off topic, After I finish listening to the Grapes of Wrath, I am listening to Anne Applebaum’s Red Famine.
10:13, yes please do rank the movies that would be cool and the controversy probably would drive engagement as well.
Yup I almost sh!t my pants on the 1st jump scare. I hate them. The sound was way too loud! I liked it, the end was a bit cheesy.
I feel I'm a hard to please moviegoer. I liked it. 8/10.
Extremely exciting for this one
At first glance I thought your necklace was the derelict ship lol.
Thank you for this review. Was wondering if you plan on posting a 'House of the Dragon' season finale recap video and what series you will review next. Thanks Marianna.😃
Yes, of course! As far as episode recaps, I'll definitely do "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" next year because I'm committed to Westeros, but I'm also considering "Dune: Prophecy", depending on how much there is to talk about after the premiere.
i think it should have been named ALIEN: The Thrill is Gone. i actually fell asleep... twice
I like Fede's remakes but I want another original film from him. Don't Breathe was an excellent film.
It's fine
I'm just hoping I enjoy it more than the prequels....
Try Ranking the whole Alien Franchise !
