The first song (Disney Haunted Mansion) is sung by Thurl Ravenscroft, who also voiced Tony the Tiger commercials and sang “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”.
I’m a baby Gen X’er kid who grew up in the 80s & early 90s - love this music🖤🎃it’s like a time capsule back to my mother’s childhood - to a more innocent time in America. So much has changed.
Man I miss my childhood. My school would make a mini fair in the quad and a haunted house out of the gym. All sorts of treats like rice crispies, candy apples, kettle corn and churros. I remember the art stuff too like a badge maker, color your own masks, and stuffing orange paper bags with popcorn and drawing faces on them. Take me back to 97 again please!
I love listening to the Halloween music from years ago where everyone was safe going out at night after dinner Trick or Treating, a d you would get lots of candy and treats. We had a neighbor who would give out Extra Large Candy Bars at Halloween!! Our eyes would bug out at the sight of the Large Candy Bar. We sometimes would get money too, I remember One year getting fifty cent pieces. So many good , safe fun memories from long ago. We also made our costumes too.❤❤❤
Halloween, nowadays, has such a vicious element that it makes one cringe. Being a ‘Baby Boomer’ (68 yrs), this music takes me back to when the holiday was all about ghosts, goblins, and such.......the only real fear was not getting your tricks or treats pillow case full of candies. 🎃 Thanking You for the jog down Memory Lane.
You're not the only one who doesn't care for the gore-fest that Halloween seems to have become. This Millennial mum tends to favor the cute Halloween costumes and decor for her kiddos.
i wish haloween today was more focused on fun and the "spooky" creatures like ghost and such are seen as good or just something fun to dress up as not the gore and other terrible stuff modern people watch on tv or whatever, yes i know there is terrible stuff but haloween is not JUST about that and it does not have to be, i rather see Halloween as time to have fun in the spooky things but see the good in it and that some spooky things are actually not scary but fun and nice like those haloween town movies and the whole scareing thing is just for fun to pull pranks and stuff not hurting anyone, now if someone likes those bad and scarry horror films they show today fine go ahaid and watch it but pleasedon't make it the ONLY thing shown on haloween i mean we don't have enough reruns of old haloween specials anymore like that miss switch witch or the pumpkin that couldn't smile or whatever anymore it's really sad
The Real Ghostbusters had a great idea for a purpose of Halloween: To help all ages, kids especially to NOT be scared of monsters & the Super Natural by dressing up as such.
Oh, This Takes Me Back To The Early 1970s Where Halloween Meant Making Your Own Costumes, Walking In Groups To Trick Or Treat, And Using Pillow Cases Or Decorated Paper Grocery Bags To Hold Our Candy! And Watching Charlie Brown In His Hole-y Sheet Say "I Got A Rock"!
I'm from '72 & my costumes came in a box, 3 of them. My 2nd & favorite was of Superman...Vinyl smock, plastic mask held to your face by a single rubberband stapled on & let's not forget...the RED CAPE. It's wasn't scary...unless You were Lex Luthor😱.
Each generation has it's own nostalgia of Halloween. Unfortunately these current times are much more 'sterial' then in years gone by due to the infliction of some warped psychosis.
@@robinbeaulieu7700 Correct. 1st it's poisoned candy & now Covid-19. Let's not forget now banned costumes involving weapons (Fake or otherwise), blood & even masks (Which we're supposed to wear during the Covid-19 pandemic anyway). It just encourages me to stay to myself & locked tighter indoors for everyone's own good. WTF else matters?
I know it's early on Wed 9-21-22 but I just couldn't stay away until next month. I can't get enough of the music & vintage imagery of Trick or Treating. Many of the treats shown here still exist to this day. In my childhood, costumes came in a box & I owned 3 before I aged out. My fave was of Superman, complete with separate tie on red Cape...A MUST HAVE btw. I'll admit it wasn't scary...unless you were Lex Luthor😱. Also, instead of a pillow case, I used a plastic Jack o Lantern I would play with all year round for years as my candy carrier. Got tons of candy yet I barely recall getting to eat even 1/2 of it, WTF happened I wonder🤔.
Right when the Disneyland Sing-Along Songs version of Grim Grinning Ghosts started playing, I knew this was going to become one of my favorite playlists! Thanks, I'll be listening to this all year round! 🧡💜🎃👻

😯Darn. I thought it was Boris Karloff of Frankenstein fame.

I despise the overly-gory modern take on Halloween. It takes the mystery out of it and reduces the whole thing to a blood-themed jump scare.
