Definitely it is. My family and me lived there for 6 years. We love Dubai and UAE and we would go back any time again. Greetings back from beautiful Hamburg in Germany.
My son and his family have lived in the UAE for six years and when I visit them I have only respect for their why of life and only hope no'thing will ever change the Dubai UAE culture, their look on life is something we in the west can only hope to achieve.

In UAE we have all girl schools and all boy schools. So when the national day came, me and my sister learned the Yola dance and borrowed my brothers thobe and did the traditional dance with two of our friends who were doing the girls dance. Because usually we have alot of non local teachers who will make us do dumb dances thay has nothing to do with our culture instead of our traditional dance in our national day, so I made sure we practiced and did our own routine and we preformed infront of the school. I was in middle school but it got on my nerves that they thought it's okay to pass every national day without any traditional dancing and clothes. So we took matters in our own hands 😂😂😂
You can be, it is greate country and greate society. I lived in Dubai for 6 years and I can tell you it is one of the best places to live in the world.

WOW! the so famous "Yola Dance"!!! ^_^ my favourite part is when they throw the gun or stick into the air and then run like a Dhab (Gazel) to get it back agin.... LOL :D ehehehehehehhe ya Emaratiyyaaaaaaaaah ^_^
It was usually performed by a solo artist or more people. 1, 2, or 4 people could perform this dance. This traditional dance dates back to roughly 200 years ago and was actually a victory dance performed when they won something. They performed this with a weapon though. Not a stick or gun.
I don't understand arabic, but I really like to seeing their heads like that.

Good. National dance is important. You could try to speak with the principal also before you do it on your own :)

Man hat den Stock zum Antreiben der Kamele gentzt, tut man sogar immer noch. In manchen Tänzen ist es auch ein Ersatz für das Gewer.
