So useful, thanks. I was struggling to set up because the companion mode icon had disappeared from my toolbar, so your tip that it was there in the main drop-down menu soon got me connected.
@@EyekooDrawsStuff Mainly iPad paired with my iPhone when I'm drawing, but it might prove useful on the iMac too, perhaps when I'm working on the graphic design side of things, such as layouts. I've been concentrating on drawing in Procreate but the release of Clip Studio Paint version 2 tells me that it's time to start dipping into that again.
Interesting. I suppose generally people with tablets that include a pen will just use CSP to draw on the tablet itself, so there's less demand for that. But it could be interesting if they set up a sort double-panel version of it for tablets where you can have one half of the tablet screen being the touch pad and the other as the color mixing palette for example.
I wonder if the 1 hour limit per day is spent even if csp is minimized or the pc is asleep, guess I'll have to try! As a side comment tho, great video! Informative and straight to the point. Also appreciate your efforts in answering/replying to a LOT of the comments, that's very refreshing to see 😁
Thanks for the comment @Grey Swallow. I appreciate that. Yeah, sometimes it's tricky remembering everything to put in video, so the comments section and people's questions are great to fill the gaps. Then I can plug them into the written article as well if I have one. So, regarding the 1hr limit... on my phone, when I minimize CSP or hop onto another app, the counter stops. Checked this after I saw your comment and had about an hour gap before opening CSP up again. The counter was still at the same position. This MIGHT differ with different devices, I'm not too sure. But this 1hr limit doesn't apply to the companion mode on your phone, only when you are active on a canvas on the phone. On my laptop, I haven't noticed any time limits when using Try CSP EX (only running trial for now).
@@EyekooDrawsStuff thanks! I just connected my iPhone to my old Wacom Cintiq 12! And it works flawlessly without delay or anything to see my webtoon creation! Thank God, and thank you for your excellent and straightforward way of explaining! You've got another subscriber with that!

I really wish they add a Wired mode like plugging your phone via usb connector so It would be less delay and work like real time. xD I guess well just have to wait.
Interesting. I didn't experience a delay issue at all but I suppose it does depend on your network. Good thing to keep in mind, thanks for pointing it out :-)
Personally, I don't see the use of such a function and I think very few people would make use of it. It's really too small for that. I could be wrong though. Already they have a mobile app, so you can draw directly on your phone. But overall, it's going to be a better drawing experience to buy a cheap drawing tablet that can connect either to your phone or to your computer.
If you REALLY need that I would give SuperDisplay a look see on the Google Play Store. It does work and the latency isn't the worst, and Pressure sensitivity works on Galaxy Tab 6s lite Note 3, Note 4 and s24 Ultra and it connects over USB, I warn you though if your Android device DOESN'T have a Stylus you will be FINGER PAINTING and unless you are REALLY down for that I wouldn't bother, especially since the Android gesture DO NOT WORK, but if you need a bit more power, have a stylus android device, and a Desktop/Laptop with Clip studio paint it is QUITE useable in a pinch

Yeah. Haven't looked at this feature in ages. Wonder if anything has changed since this video XD There was certainly some more potential in ways to use this
It's pretty cool. I was actually wondering the other day if you used CSP at all. I'm curious to see if any other apps will follow suit and explore ways to turn your phone into a handy peripheral 🤔
@@EyekooDrawsStuff I will do. I have been trying to transition from PS to CSP, I am tired of relying on Adobe for everything, and my display pen thingy doesnt have touch, so was actually trying to see how I can use a phone for a touch zoom pad.
Ah man, I think that's the motivation for a lot of people moving over. I just find the interface to be quite an adjustment. Haha, and the touch thing is definitely a nice thing to have off to the side. I've gotten so used to zooming and rotating like that with my pen hand on the iPad.
I'd love to have color sets for companion mode. I'd also like the option to do this via USB c. I was unable to use this on a flight and I had been able to.
Regarding the connecting via USB... agree that would be good option. If you can use your phone as a wifi hotspot, companion mode should still work. It works on my devices :-)
Do you perhaps know how to pair the companion mode with Clip Studio Pro? Ive been trying for hours and could not get it to connect. The website has nothing about this issue :(
doesn't work in areas with bad internet, i was so excited when this came out and attempted it many times but it just doesn't work for me. I wish they had a option to work through a wired connection
I'm surprised there hasn't been an update to avoid that issue by adding another connectivity mode. But one thing you could try is using your phone as a WiFi hotspot and connecting your other device to that. You don't need to have an internet connection for it... It's just using WiFi to transfer information over a local network pretty much

Hi LordCha. Happy to help. First have your canvas open. Then click File > Import> Image... The window that pops up probably has no items in it. Click the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) just next to Cancel. Select Import. This will open your file manager and you can select which files to put in the gallery. Once the images are there, select the one you want to add to the canvas and tap Open. The image will be a new layer on your canvas. To reorder the layers, tap and hold the hamburger icon of the layer and drag it to the right position. Hope that helps.
In your menus at the top, go to Window. There you'll find Navigator (to see thumbnail of canvas while zoomed in) and the Sub View (to import reference images from your gallery) :-)
