Democrat/Lefty here. I’ll always have the utmost passion for my imperfect country, my grandfathers before me all served, I’ll never disrespect their memory and their bravery. I’ll always support our military, they aren’t the ones causing the need for war, they’re the ones who go to fight whether they want to or not, period. I feel their presence with me in my darkest and most shameful times, so I will always respect the men they were.

I served from Bill Clinton through Donald Trump. I'm proud of my service but I'm NOT proud of what this country is getting at. I didn't sign up to support all of these racial politics and race baiting.

Same here. My graduating class won the banner of excellence and it was presented to us by Reagan. I had the opportunity to meet him on that day and after that I joined the Army because I wanted to serve under a great President.

I served in the Marines under Ronald Reagan. During his Presidency he commanded more Loyalty from the military than any other President since. He loved the Military and the Military loved him, we would have followed any order he gave without question.
And he was elected just a few short years after the end of the Vietnam War when patriotism was at a terrible low, people would spit at military in the airports or yell derogatory things at him.
I’ll tell you, when Bill Clinton was elected, it took 4 years before my husband’s unit to take down his photo and replace it with Clinton.

I can never forget the time I had the honor of shaking this great man's hand.
I worked at the Ronald Reagan Library and would hear his speeches every day. I had never heard and still have yet to hear a president that could command so much respect even from those that disagreed with him. He truly loved this country and would be so disappointed in where we are today. God Bless Ronald Reagan and God Bless the USA 🇺🇸
I live about half an hour away from the Reagan Library and it’s one of my favorite places on earth. I could sit in that rose garden by his tomb and look out over the beautiful hills for hours.

My absolute favorite President. I cried for days when he died. His Presidential Library is only about 1 1/2 hours from my home and I've gone often when I feel all is lost, even in death, his optimism and love of America always comforts me. I take a Rose to lay at his gravesite and browse the Library's exhibits and come out renewed.
I was 8 yrs old when President Reagan was elected. My Grandfather sat down with me on voting day and explained why voting your conscience was essential. Why making sure your voice, every voice was heard. This was the first time he took me in the voting booth with him, let me push the buttons to vote for Reagan. Because of his teaching I have NEVER missed an election be it local or national. I still remember and feel the pride I felt in my nation, my home. His words to me even now ring true and I honor him every time I vote. He told me that day "We have too much to lose for people who love freedom to remain silent" Love you always Beba, you never leave my heart and I have passed your lessons for life to my sons, I know you would be so proud of them! Actually, I totally get that. The first day I went to vote - it was like that for me. I had looked forward to getting to that age and being able to do that. It seems right to me that it took you like that when your sons reached that threshold and took their rights seriously.

My oldest son literally made charts of the candidates, their platforms, their history of voting and EVERYTHING! My boys are 4 yrs apart and my youngest was SO jealous :-) Pink highlighter for the bad points and yellow for the good HAHAHAHAHA it was great, literally filled a 3 x 3 bulletin board.

I appreciate your sincere passion about America. I believe a lot of our fighting spirit was passed down from our forefathers' Scottish heritage. Thank you for honoring our country and Ronald Reagan. He was one of the greatest leaders we have ever had. There is a battle that you might be interested in and that is The Battle of Fort Sumter.
Don't forget your English Irish and Welsh forefathers, we Brits fought each other for a thousand years fighting is in our DNA. We took it with us to the colonies.

Not sure if you are a reader but Ronald Reagan’s autobiography is one of the best books I’ve ever read. A truly great, humble, powerhouse of a man.
My dad was a proud marine in the Korean War and WW2! Till the day that he died he wouldn’t eat a morsel of rice he could barely even look at it. Thank you for your passion for American 🇺🇸 history! God bless ❤️

He is the first President I became aware of as a child growing up. He made me understand the President wasn't a person only on the pages of a text book, but a real, live, person. He was and is an inspiration

Reagan was trained as an actor. And when he was President, he brought all those skills to bear on delivering the speech he intended to give. He was real, and he believed what he said he believed. God love him, he was a great President for what he said and what he did as President.
A few generations ago a my ancestors came from Scotland to north carolina. In 1987 while I was in the USAF I had the privilege to visit UK at RAF Lakenheath for only a month. I had 3 days off but we meet some british army blokes that took use to london for a very memorable time. Love your channel and you like most all are my brothers, Scots English wales and Americans. We have each others 6.

My first time voting I voted for Reagan. I entered service in the USAF in Mar 1981 and Retired in 2001. I served under Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush. The Republican party definitely treats the Military better. We got better pay raises, better funding and better equipment and we were definitely Respected better by Republicans. Clinton was terrible for the Military!

I was always taught that we say "our" country when we talk about it. Lately political divides got us saying "my" all the time. Our forefathers, brothers and sisters, all fought and died for a United states. I hope someday we move past this and talk about our country again. We are a great nation when we stand together. All our leaders speak the words of us being United but most seem to want us United under their parties ideals now. Imagine where we could be if we actually listened to each other and met in the middle more.

I've been watch several RUclipsrs from other countries do reactions about several American stories. It brought me to tears to know their is this kind of support for what America represents. You'll always have people in comment sections trying to break the country down. It's easy to find a scenario in every country that you can talk about how bad they are. But what makes America different is that we are always trying to self correct. It has become the new fad to hate everything about our country and constantly chant that America was never great. I don't think they realize they are only showing just how great the country is. You can't tear down an entire country every time your mad about something just anywhere. Only in America can you feel free to take to the streets if you feel wronged. Other countries would squash you if you stand against it. In America you can stand against it and the government will provide traffic control. We don't want to silence anyone. That's why I can't understand this socialist push and attack on freedom of speech from the youth in our country. America is beautiful because we will fight and die to make sure you have the ability to hate your own country. If you where in China, you would have been silenced already. It really warms my heart to see this many people from our original country that still love us. Because that's what Americans do. If our allies our in trouble we will stand with them, no matter the cost. And we've backed it up several times. Their is a crazy push in America to strip it down and build it up as some sort of Marxist utopia. But just like many times before, the flag and the constitution will hold. The tides our already turning and I have a feeling this next few elections our going to show that. A lot of people voted for the mobs this election because they thought it would bring peace, but tgeir not blind and realize they were lied to. Now the middle of tge pack voters are seeing what their true intentions our and tgeir will be a reckoning.
I am sad to feel that many Americans today have abandoned patriotism and respect for their country and flag. As a veteran with 24 years of service, I agree the politics such as CRT does not belong in the military. We should be able to do our jobs and build our teams. CRT is a danger to team building.

Reagan was the most authentic president in my lifetime. My father had the pleasure to be his pilot on a chartered flight. Reagan sat in the co-pilots seat the whole flight and my dad told me that he was extremely likeable. I have met a few people that served in the white house with him, he was very much respected. Hope we can find another president like him.
I was just a little kid when Reagan became president, I didn't understand politics then but I was in awe of Reagan when he was on the television. I loved listening to him speak so eloquently and passionately about his love for the US. It made me feel proud of my country and blessed to be here. My mom took me out of school so we could go see Reagan on his campaign stop in '84. That's when I got my first taste of politics and the ugly side of things. I saw protestors shouting ugly things about Reagan and holding signs that said bad things about him. I was honestly confused, how could they hate such a nice man who loves this country? Of course now I get how these things go but I'll never ever stop reminiscing of those innocent years when I had just a strong love for Reagan and my country. I remember crying in my office the day I heard Reagan died. That last piece of my childhood innocence was gone. Still miss him. God bless Ronald Reagan.

My brother died a few years ago. He was a Veteran. When we all left the church there was a lone bagpiper on a hill ringing out a solemn Amazing Grace as the courtyard cleared. So it was finally the ending of his life. Now I can not listen to bagpipes without a lump welling up in my throat. It is the same feeling as when I am consumed with patriotism. I am an American and have two halves of my family pulling in two directions of politics, I’m in the middle. No matter what, if push comes to shove we WILL band together and move forward. I don’t know where this inner fight comes from, I just know it’s there. I was 11 when President Reagan made this speech and still remember it. I love your videos because It gives me a perspective outside of my life as a teacher here in Dallas,Texas. On a side note I took a dna test and am 43% Scottish, who knew!!!

I remember this speech when Ronald Reagan uttered these words...I also remember that my eyes began to tear with the love I have for this great country and I remembered why I joined the Marine Corp. and it reminded me of a Latin phrase that still means alot to me SEMPER FI! ("always faithful" or "always loyal"). NOW my eyes tear feeling as though tens of thousands of soldiers who died protecting this great country have been betrayed by today's democrtic actions to DESTROY AMERICA! SEMPER FI, WWG1WGA!

During the Civil War I have one ancestor that I know of that lived in the Northern states and fought for the Union (North) out of Michigan; John Burke. I had two ancestors who lived in the South who fought for the Confederacy (South); Leander Taylor from Missouri and William Riley Owens from Arkansas. I had 4 ancestors who lived in the South and volunteered/fought for the Union; Sandy Hickey, Ammond Davis Jones and Henderson Tilley all from Tennessee, and Albert Beavers from Louisiana. Then there was my ancestor George Guest Russell from Louisiana who fought for the Union and the Confederacy. It's quite a story, one I always thought would make a good movie. He volunteered for the Union Army, his wife got sick and he wanted to be home with her so went AWAL and he was then forced to join the Confederacy after his wife passed away. His brothers joined the Confederacy from the beginning. My TN ancestors had cousins in the same county who fought for the Confederacy. Literally brother against brother or cousin against cousin conflict.

All politics aside, Reagan knew how to make you PROUD to be an American. Not just as a single individual, but as a community, a city, a state, a NATION! That pride could make us fight each other for multiple reasons. But when we turned our gaze at YOU, it was a warning to back out of the room very quietly, or you would be facing a strongly united force to knock you out of the room.
I always considered America, as a whole, like a large family. Sure, we will fight each other like brothers will do. But when you try to get between those brothers, they forget all the fighting that they were doing against each other, and turn that effort against you for DARING to try to get in the way.
I'm not much of a cry baby but to here this speech and to see those images with love of our nation and pride in ourselves as free Americans brings a tear to my eyes. Then I turn on the tv and hear people talk about how America is terrible and racist and they say the police are bad the soldiers are bad and everyone is bad just because if their race or creed or who they just happens to be born to flat out rips my soul in to. The tears are as real as before but now they are filled with sadness and pain instead of pride and love. I pray to God the father that he can bring us back together and let our LOVE for each other and our country and for ourselves put or country back together "so that this great nation shall not parish from this earth" may god bless us all.

Reagan was the GOAT, for sure! I grew up in the '70s/'80s and there is no doubt he gave us our mojo back. Dude was a beast. Also, ultimately he was a peacemaker, which no one knew until he was out of office. He knew America had to be negotiating from a position of strength. And he spoke truth regardless of the implications. The man had HUGE balls and gave us ALL in the US confidence, even if it did scare us from time to time. He was brilliant in a million ways, and almost single-handedly destroyed the Soviet Union.
I remember this speech, you may have disagreed with policy but he made you proud to be American. We were not perfect and we knew that, but we were proud to be the voice of democracy. I do not understand how we got from this to where we are now.

I was fortunate (and honored) to serve under President Reagan as a Senior NCO in the US Army, stationed in the occupied city of West Berlin from 1981 to 1984. The Cold War was at its peak then, mostly as a clear confrontation between NATO (commercial west) and the Warsaw Pact (communist east). President Reagan made his first official visit to West Berlin in June of 1982 and spoke initially to those of us in the Allied military forces stationed there. This was long before his famous ‘Wall’ speech.
Membership in NATO was formed from western allies voluntarily; France was excluded because they chose not to join at that time. Membership in Warsaw Pact was formed, and enforced by Soviet forces, in countries they invaded during World War II. Any country that tried to leave the Warsaw Pact because of freedom movements (East Germany (DDR) / Hungary / Czechoslovakia) faced violent suppression by the Soviet forces. The members of the Warsaw Pact were not the comrades as the PR often claim. It appeared similar events would happen in Poland during the 1980’s.
We were able to see the evils of communism everyday in the DDR. Oftentimes in areas just across the street or closer. Escape attempts and bloody retribution were pretty common occurrences with blatant and often loud results. Everyone on that side suffered in some form or other from food shortages to constant brutality.
I was attached to the Military Intelligence (MI) Detachment as an interrogator tasked with interviewing defectors (Border Guard / Military) and refugees (civilians) from all of the various Pact countries. They were fleeing similar oppression with many vivid stories of their own. We had an almost constant flow during my time there.
We were especially concerned about events in Poland as the Solidarity Union disturbances were watched closely by the Soviet seniors. During one of my 1983 interviews with a Polish officer who had defected; I asked him what would happen if the Pact forces invaded Poland to suppress the activities… … would the Polish military fight or not. His answer was both humorous and cynical. He said:
“Your question presents a very serious issue for Polish soldiers to answer; do we do our duty to the people and country by shooting Russians? Or do we enjoy ourselves by shooting Germans? No more invasions.”
We were pretty certain something was coming soon by that time; just not sure if we would become radioactive dust or the Soviet Union would collapse.
I am surprised it took until 1989 for the Wall to actually come down.

I am sorry to say this, and I may be wrong.....but after seeing the latest US Army recruitment advertisements, I feel that the American spirit which Reagan spoke of has drifted too far from what it must be- Willing and tenacious- for America and for the world.
