Hello I have just started watching your RUclips videos you are very good at making your jewelry i live in uk i would like to know where you get your wire from and what gauge you use for rings and necklaces and where do you get your sheets of sterling silver please i am 64 and just started to make handmade jewelry i would like to have my own website but do not have the money for one thank you
Thank you so very much!! I really appreciate that and am so glad you enjoy my videos!! I get a lot of my metal materials from Rio Grande. It truly depends on what type of ring you’re making but I usually use a range of 16-12 gauge sterling silver wire as I have mainly focused on more simple pieces as I’ve started out. Truly depends on what look you’re going for and how chunky you want your band to be. I get my sheet metal from them as well. I accidentally bought too thick of sheet metal my first go around but am working with it anyways because I don’t want it to go to waste lol. There’s ways you can work around buying too thick of metal so don’t worry too much about it. I can always make a video if you need over more details of items or any other questions you have if you’d like. That’s amazing and so exciting you’re starting your jewelry making journey!! It’s such a fun craft and I fall more in love with it each day. I started metalsmithing only six months ago and I’ve gotten further than I imagined in this amount of time. It’s all about determination!! Also I completely understand waiting to have a website, it took me a while before I committed to getting mine because of money. Honestly starting on Etsy or a marketplace as such would be a great place to start selling as long as you factor it into your pricing. I believe Shopify has a 5$ a month website option but it’s bare minimum. If anything you could sell off of instagram if you market yourself right too. I’m still working on marketing myself and getting consistent in sales, it can be a tedious process but worth it in the end. Let me know where I can check out your stuff I’d love to support!! Thanks again so much🥰God bless you
Well done! 👍💯
