The daily heavy has to be one of the best starts to any album ever. What an incredible song... Dwyer shredding on a guitar as the chorus... absolute perfection 👌
when recording, it seems like you accidentally picked up your dog playing with a toy or something right at the beginning, rest of it is awesome though!
Love them! Pushing the boundaries. Reminds me of elements of the legendary British plunderphonic band the Perrinormal, blended with Dutch band Fractured Cat, Can, Pere Ubu and PIL with the approach of Anton Fier's Golden Palominos.
I disagree… they have been mixing and combing styles for over 2 decades when they come up with this …. They will continue to do this and will come up with another funky, heavy, freaky, electronic, progressive, psychedelic, etc, etc, etc…. And many fans will not consider this their best …: why?..,, it depends on what your favorite style and genre is ? … it’s one of my favorites… but there are other albums I like just as much…the 2 or 3 before … and the new one sounds like it could have that catchy heavy poppy 70s punk electronica combo that catches peoples ears 👂🏻( like DEVO or CAN)dig!…. So I think they are far from done …. Also … many fans do not like newer stuff as much as the earlier avant-garde psychedelic folk(electric & acoustic sounding)…. So I hope they keep mixing it up as always … and there will be plenty of favorite albums for all the fans! 😸👍🏼

This was Oh Sees' peak. I don't think they will ever surpass this album in sheer scope, ambition, or variety, but I would like to be proven wrong

ORC was there peak IMO. But I still love all of their stuff, I'm glad they are always changing.
