I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THISSS!!! im so blessed to be a latvian and so blessed to have found their music and been to their concert!!! each and every song of their is just so stunning and absolutely beautifull! no wonder they are my most listened group/song artist this year! honestly their songs have had such a big impact on my life and i canyt imagine going a day without atleast one of their songs :'') and at first i thought you forgot about they song "eyes" since i didnt see it lower on the list. no one i know really likes that song except me so when i saw it in second place i was so shocked, but your sooo real for that!!! its a masterpeace FOR SURE!! now i really gotta get back to studiying but sudden lights will be playing in the background the whole time >:D
Thank you so much :))) This message was so heartwarming to read, I‘m so glad there are so many people who also appreciate Sudden Lights and the masterpieces they make :)) They‘re also my top artist this year and will probably stay that way for some more time lol
I‘m sooo happy to see this comment, Eyes is such a masterpiece and too many people don‘t see it like that so I‘m glad that there are people who think the same :)))
Thos feels more like you wanted to do a "1 reasons why you should like and 38 reasons you should love Sudden Lights" :D I really enjoyed it and the detail with the ESC-heart in the corner was great.
Wow, you did it, congrats! What I absolutely love about SL, is the way they picture emotions in their songs. You can feel them immediately. And the fact that they sing in Latvian makes me deaf to the verbal, cognitive message and sharpens the feeling itself, this is amazing. Btw my number one is Siltas vasaras ēnā, endlessly.
I'm soo happy to see the new video from you, especially the video like that. I adore brief introductions into artists' discography and I adore when people show love to their favorite artists this way, to make more people discover awesome songs. Their whole discography seems really incredible. I will listen to them more for sure. I just discovered Straumē, magnificent atmosphere. And how I hadn't heard it or hadn't noticed this even more brilliant version of Aija... Thank you so so much :) You inspire me to do something like that for Luke Black or Hatari :)
As someone who has both of you on my subs I want a collab video! :D And I don't have every ESC account in my subscriptions, so this really means something
@@akanichts267 I‘m definitely open for something like that :) Let‘s see, at first, it‘s helpful to think about some ideas that could work for a possible collab and if both of us are open for doing a collab :D
What can be better than a video about our Sudden Legends🥰 Now, some (long) thoughts on your great top(and its difference with my own one): - Don't want to criticize or anything, but when I saw that Priekšpilsētas Valsis is on 35th place, my heart nearly broke💔 This was the fifth Sudden Lights song I heard (after Aijā, Backwards in Time, the piano version of Aijā and Just Fine) and it really started my OBSESSION for this fantastic group. I just love its sort of folky atmosphere (it makes me want to visit the Baltics) and the lyrics feel very relatable, since I live in a big city. But everyone has different tastes)) - I kind of understand what you mean by putting Šajā Sētas Puse last. At first I didn't like it much myself, thinking it was boring and too different from Sudden Lights' usual style. But one evening I suddenly in love with it! It's just so calm and relaxing and every time I listen to it I feel as if I'm sitting somewhere in the countryside on a bright and warm June evening ❤ - An ENORMOUS thank you for putting Vibrant so high, its warm and sort of positive atmosphere deserves it) But can someone please tell me what the lyrics mean? I'm confused by the lines "our fingers somehow found our way" and "when we got dark we got rich" - Wow, you gave me quite a scare by putting Aijā 4th! I didn't know you were going to include both versions of the song and was so relieved when I saw your first place - I 100% agree with your comment on Gaisma, it's such a beautiful (and somewhat Christmassy) song💖 - Your comment on Just Fine is SOOO relatable in a funny way, Sudden Lights really were robbed (MrNo please make a Justice For Sudden Lights petition I beg you 🥺) - I love the fact that your favorite collaboration of Sudden Lights with someone is my least favorite collaboration of theirs and your least favorite collaboration is my favorite collaboration (I love Jasmīns btw, I just don't think the rap part suits it) - The sound of Rīgas Ielu Nemiers actually makes me nervous (in a good way),so your comment on it made me smile - Am I the only one who thinks that Straumē sounds like a church hymn? (I love it btw,it's so unique) Owerall, your top is very different from mine, but it still feels like the best top ever ❤ Also, sorry that this comment is so long, I can talk about Sudden Lights' music for hours))
Oh wow, thank you so so much for these detailed thoughts :D It‘s sooo interesting to see all the different opinions from other Sudden Lights fans, after all, it‘s great that we all share an interest for the same band. I can definitely understand what you mean with Priekšpilsētas Valsis, I like the chorus a lot, maybe I just have to give it some more time so I really love everything about it :D For me it‘s similar, the first few songs I‘ve heard from them also stayed really high in my top, because it‘s really comforting to listen to familiar songs in my opinion :) Same with Šajā Sētas Puse, I haven‘t listened to it a lot to be honest, so maybe it will grow on me :D And you don‘t know how happy it makes me to see that other people enjoy Vibrant and Gaisma, they‘re really underrated I feel like c: And yeah I‘m also really confused about some parts of the lyrics of Vibramt, but maybe that‘s something I like about the song, it gives it a comforting, but still mysterious atmosphere :D Thanks for taking the time to write that comment :D
I love how every song of theirs takes me more than one listen - but once I get to the end for the 2nd time I'm obsessed. My favourite thing about their music is how atmospheric it is and how each song manages to portray different emotions. They are truly my new favourite band and the best thing to come out of Eurovision this year for me. Also, I like to believe there is an alternate universe where Just Fine won Supernova, as it should have
You‘re so right! That is exactly why I love their songs, they have so much emotion and I always discover new things in their songs even after listening to them for some time, the songs get better and better :)
8:05 wow I didn't notice how different the original uploaded version was! Personally I like it but with the current studio version's existence, the original one did sound more like just a demo version. There are bits that I did like from the original one (esp the bridge and the transition from verse 1 to the chorus) but the studio version just made the whole song hit even more for me
Interesting thoughts you shared here! I totally get what you mean with the original version of Aijā sounding more like a demo version, maybe that‘s what I like about it the most I guess if that makes sense haha but I agree, the studio version has some moments that hit harder than in the original version, for me it‘s the instrumental part before they sing the aijā saldā miegā part :)
You're so right about every song being great and whilst it is a list of top 39, they're all at least 8/10 songs with nearly every song reaching even 9/10! Here's my list, jeez it was difficult!! I didn't take into consideration the different versions of Aijā not the English version of Siltas vasaras ēnā but I'll comment on them as well: 35. Haosā - This is the weakest I'm afraid. It's still good but nowhere near as good as the rest of their songs 34. Šajā sētas pusē - Yeah, I have to agree it's not the type of song I'd listen on a daily basis so it's in the bottom side because of that. Not a bad song by any means tho! 33. Miljards vasaru - The beginning is a bit slow to my taste but the chorus is mellow and very pleasant to listen to 32. Pasaule trīc - I'm a bit on the fence on this one since it's a good song but the remix they have on Spotify is even better, so this original version feels a bit too slow when compared to that. Still, like I said, a good song 31. Nine head monster - It has a very classical or old school vibe to it for me, which isn't a style I tend to listen to. It's a great song tho 30. Jasmīns - I'm not the biggest fan of rap so that's why the song is on the lower end for me 29. Straumē - I love the atmosphere, the entire album is magnificent 28. Aizņem man vietu - The best of the collaboration in my opinion. I love how their voices work together 27. Klusumi - I'm not the biggest fan of the clarinet but they somehow made it sound great here 26. Saules noburtā - Pleasant, summery, I like when this appears on the Spotify playlist when I'm working 25. Izslēdz gaismu, kad ej prom - Same comment as for Saules noburtā 24. Vibrant - Not as much of my cup of tea as yours but I still enjoy listening to this song 23. Just fine - I love the message behind the song. And I'm indeed kinda happy they weren't chosen that year because then we wouldn't have had/found Aijā 22. Priekspilsētas valsis - This was the first other song of theirs I heard after Aijā and made me realise that they have a ton of other brilliant songs 21. Vislabāk ir tur, kur manis nav - Powerful ending indeed! Really like this one 20. Ekstāze - I like the guitar riffs here! 19. Izbēgšana - This is a fun song to listen to when cycling to work 18. Wanderer - And this is a fun song to listen to during an evening walk 17. Atpakaļ patīt - Very pretty and calming. There's this one part that gives me goosebumps where he sings "atpakaļ neskaties" before the chorus 16. Rīgas ielu nemiers - I love the bouncy feeling in the chorus! 15. Nejauši - This is so pretty! I get goosebumps listening to this 14. Gaisma - It took me a couple listens but now I can't stop admiring this song. It's really really beautiful 13. Pāris neuzņemtu foto - One word: Masterpiece. 12. Tik savādi - Oh no way this is out of top 15! This is among my favourites by far :D 11. Vakūms - I love the vibe of the song. I'm a big fan of hard sounds in music 10. Mēs turpināmies - A brilliant release worth all the wait and moments in the chat ;) 9. Ielas vidū - This is so pretty! Very very happy I found this song
Wow, that‘s a lot! Thank you sooo so much for sharing your opinion, I‘m so happy to see that we agree on more unknown songs from them like Eyes, truly a masterpiece! Your comments are reallyyyyyy relatable haha and I love that there‘s some appreciation for Dzivnieks as well, I feel like that one is also really underrated. And you‘re absolutely right, Aijā is one of the most beautiful things I‘ve ever heard as well haha and the thing you mentioned with the drums in the original version, for me it‘s actually the opposite, I find the ones in the ESC version more confusing but that‘s just me, a lot of you judging by the comments think that :) I looove as well that you have so many songs from Vislabak Ir Tur Kur Manis Nav so high, definitely their most underrated album, but all in all, you‘re right, all the songs are at least a 8/10 haha :)
@@ESCErik I should probably add a couple covers they've made 1) Mūsu mīlestība (original: Čikāgas piecīši) - It's a cute song! I like the lyrics as well :) If it was their original song I'd probably place it around 26th 2) Uzsniga sniedziņš balts (original Brāļi Ziemeļi) - This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a while and I actually started learning to play it on the guitar!
