Everyone should be free to make their own choices for their happiness. Having someone (ML) take up 7 years of your life without respect is a miserable existence. I was glad that the FL chose not to go back to him as he never changed. His own needs always came first with no true thoughts for her. The 2ML was very nice and would make a great partner but once a woman has been trapped and had her own life take 2nd place for so many years, it is very difficult to even think of losing control over her life choices. Excellent drama!
I disagree. Clearly, with the way she worked for it, she desired a husband and children. Giving up on that dream when you meet a great guy just because you’ve previously encountered a bad partner is analogous to giving up when offered your dream job because of a prior incompetent boss.
Really pissed me off every time he got angry at her for not accepting his apology as if she owed him something. The insincerity and lack of self-awareness is astonishing. Thank god she never looked back!

I am 1h12 min and the ml doesn't make any sense. He actually prioritized the other female cause her brother saved his life. The fl save his life and he still prioritized the other one... Finally, there is a chinese writer who has respect for women. Women with a strong spine. The only part this drama missed was a character who truly loves her, and she accepts him in front of her ex.
This is worth watching. I’ve seen this plot before but this one was actually fleshed out even more than other versions due to being I think 30 minutes longer than the other versions. It does have the usual 3-5-7-10 years of bad marriage, which at this point with these dramas is unavoidable, but at least she is very independent. There was good points like she was firmed on leaving and just only loving herself. His mom wasn’t too much, like she was typical bad MIL for a single scene though. The green tea was steeped a little too long in this story in my opinion. He knows the brother isn’t dead so I don’t know why he doesn’t do more to get rid of her 🤷♂️ I like to think eventually she will pick 2ML cause he was sweet and I’ve seen him in another drama where he was also 2ML and not picked so my heart be breaking for the good boys 😭 overall probably one the the top versions of this plot I’ve seen. I liked it a lot.
Amen just few minutes into the movie and I have concluded that the ML does not deserve the FL. Imagine on your wedding day looking so beautiful and asking your husband to be if you are beautiful he did not answer but busy looking at his phone waiting for his moonlight's call. I hope the FL will move on from such a relationship.
When you hate someone it indicates that there is an emotion. While that person isn't even worthy of your hatred. So don't tell anybody that you hate him. Instead tell them you don't hate them because they aren't worthy and they thankfully killed every feeling. Even when you plan a revenge. First thing my parents thought me. Never show your emotions in anyway because it's your weakness. ML had everything and he threw it away just like that. A wife, fiancee comes before your friends, sister etc. Well most moments there are some exceptions but not the one ML considered as exceptions. The sad part, he really loved FL but took everything for granded and didn't cherish what she gave him. FL made the mistake to let it all happen and spoiled him. But FL learned from her mistakes and became the strong one.

Crack that false confidence and when he sees that others aren't as impressed with him as he has believed they are, he's left with nothing. That type builds self-esteem on the admiration of others. Without FL's worship, he can't feel like a god anymore. And he crumbles. Goody...
You're right. Character development was stagnant. I felt suffocated. His friends should have had a good talk with him about his abuse and relationships. He really couldn't differentiate his treatment towards his so-called sister vs. a beloved woman.
If someone saved me, would he humiliate my life and destroy all my people for the sake of your brother? Why are the heroes insignificant? Save me. His problem is that he loved to save me. If all the heroines were brave and had dignity, the movie would have had meaning and beauty. It is not like the rest. She is humiliated and insulted and still loves the hero and his captive. The heroine’s role was very beautiful.
The message was a good one, love and respect yourself first, leave and don't go back to a bad man. But this show kept going on and on... He never left her alone, or understood 'no', actually means 'no'. ML kept believing she was playing hard to get, and demanding that she return to him. Less than halfway through, and I was convinced it was FINALLY near the end. Sadly, I was wrong. I just gave up at a certain point, and couldn't even fast forward anymore. I skipped to the end. I'm sure I missed some new plot points (looks like those badly needed new plot points were introduced At Last!), but by that point I felt like the FL, I was burned out and didn't care anymore.
I felt the same way, totally understand why one would give up, it is indeed a slow-paced long-winded drama! But after patiently sticking with it, I realized that almost every encounter the ML & FL have would bring up something important from the past, filling in the blanks about what had actually happened between them, e.g. about the FL's mother's death and about the wicked girl's faking-death-brother and their conspiracy to set up ML to get his sister to marry ML, without success. I would say the story writer did put in some thoughts in this story, but the ML was written to be too stupid to not to understand how slighting FL on every turn is hurting her! ML did not love FL, FL is correct when she said to ML: "You only love yourself", so true, FL is right to not to take back such selfish and calloused man who never has FL in his heart all through, he just misses the good treatment and affection from FL.

He wanted someone who thought he could do no wrong and that he was the most perfect man in the world. He didn't love her, but tried to convince her after she left that all his regret was love... and I'm not even sure regret is the right word for what he felt. And the constant hounding was exhausting. I really felt tired for her when ML and SML were in the fight at the gate, both boasting about how wealthy they were and who loved her most... I felt just so tired listening to both of them and understood how disappointed she was in SML at that point. She didn't want a romance, wasn't interested in another romance. She just wanted to enjoy her life, fulfil her dreams and have good friends beside her. I applaud her for choosing herself above everything else.
i love how ML suffered, it took way too long for him to admit his sins, and he even thought that only the wedding was his fault, he thought tha FL was just playing hard to get, he did so many bad things to her, glad FL chose herself and her lines are so slay

I admit I felt sorry for the “senior/director” but he didn’t really seem to be a good match for the strength that was showing up in the FL, and his timing was off. I applaud FL for not jumping straight into another relationship with someone else before strengthening her relationship with herself. Love this actress.

im just glad the writers didn’t pin them back together like they normally do in cases like this at the end.. i think its despicable how the writers will have a gull to romanticise abuse and violence coz at the end of such dramas they will simply write it off as a misunderstanding.. have the male lead take a knife for the female lead and have them back together after the abuse, harassment, embarrassment, emotional turmoil, rape, etc they will have them back together either she gets pregnant or he gets stabbed by the pscho mistress/ supposed friend who is obsessed with the male lead while trying to attack and kill the male lead
Yes, agree with your comments. There's 2 shorter versions of this plot released a few weeks ago that were good. They were less than an hour. This version extended it to almost 3 times as long, adding ridiculous scenes that take away from the story.
Finally, someone gave justice to our drama FL and not made her loose in the end. Neither, she she second ML’s help to come out of misery either. Even after so many years she did not choose or is with the ML….. what a beautiful ending!!!! I wished if she would have realized that on the first day when he abused her …..and she would have left him forever and not developed any relationship or wasted 7 years of her life and emotions….then there would be true justice.

The story had a good concept but the characters didn’t developed well. It feels lacking. ML went from neglecting FL one moment and then to pursuing her intently. 😅
Yeah, but a true narcissist has a flawed character built on exaggerated self-importance. Crack that false confidence and when he sees that others aren't as impressed with him as he has believed they are, he's left with nothing. That type builds self-esteem on the admiration of others. Without FL's worship, he can't feel like a god anymore. And he crumbles. Goody...
You're right. Character development was stagnant. I felt suffocated. His friends should have had a good talk with him about his abuse and relationships. He really couldn't differentiate his treatment towards his so-called sister vs. a beloved woman.
If someone saved me, would he humiliate my life and destroy all my people for the sake of your brother? Why are the heroes insignificant? Save me. His problem is that he loved to save me. If all the heroines were brave and had dignity, the movie would have had meaning and beauty. It is not like the rest. She is humiliated and insulted and still loves the hero and his captive. The heroine’s role was very beautiful.
Love it in these dramas when the women are standing up for themselves and they say stop making trouble 😂
She has the best come back in every mouth fight. Her dialogues is poetic but strong and brave.

The message was a good one, love and respect yourself first, leave and don't go back to a bad man.
But this show kept going on and on... He never left her alone, or understood 'no', actually means 'no'. ML kept believing she was playing hard to get, and demanding that she return to him.
Less than halfway through, and I was convinced it was FINALLY near the end. Sadly, I was wrong.
I just gave up at a certain point, and couldn't even fast forward anymore. I skipped to the end. I'm sure I missed some new plot points (looks like those badly needed new plot points were introduced At Last!), but by that point I felt like the FL, I was burned out and didn't care anymore.
I felt the same way, totally understand why one would give up, it is indeed a slow-paced long-winded drama!
But after patiently sticking with it, I realized that almost every encounter the ML & FL have would bring up something important from the past, filling in the blanks about what had actually happened between them, e.g. about the FL's mother's death and about the wicked girl's faking-death-brother and their conspiracy to set up ML to get his sister to marry ML, without success.
I would say the story writer did put in some thoughts in this story, but the ML was written to be too stupid to not to understand how slighting FL on every turn is hurting her! ML did not love FL, FL is correct when she said to ML: "You only love yourself", so true, FL is right to not to take back such selfish and calloused man who never has FL in his heart all through, he just misses the good treatment and affection from FL.
@joyoflife6041 oh my gosh, you hit the nail on the head here. The ML missed having her unflinching adoration. He wanted someone who thought he could do no wrong and that he was the most perfect man in the world. He didn't love her, but tried to convince her after she left that all his regret was love... and I'm not even sure regret is the right word for what he felt. And the constant hounding was exhausting. I really felt tired for her when ML and SML were in the fight at the gate, both boasting about how wealthy they were and who loved her most... I felt just so tired listening to both of them and understood how disappointed she was in SML at that point. She didn't want a romance, wasn't interested in another romance. She just wanted to enjoy her life, fulfil her dreams and have good friends beside her. I applaud her for choosing herself above everything else.
i love how ML suffered, it took way too long for him to admit his sins, and he even thought that only the wedding was his fault, he thought tha FL was just playing hard to get, he did so many bad things to her, glad FL chose herself and her lines are so slay
They made this guy crazy irredeemable, choking someone or forcing himself on his ex whenever he doesn’t get his way! Really glad she didn’t get back together with him. I feel a little bad for the senior who got rejected cuz he was a genuinely nice dude

I admit I felt sorry for the “senior/director” but he didn’t really seem to be a good match for the strength that was showing up in the FL, and his timing was off. I applaud FL for not jumping straight into another relationship with someone else before strengthening her relationship with herself. Love this actress.
So glad she chose self-love. She gave too much to a man who didn't deserve it and lost herself in the process. If only more women irl had this self reflection and could remember to take care of themselves before trying to care for others

im just glad the writers didn’t pin them back together like they normally do in cases like this at the end.. i think its despicable how the writers will have a gull to romanticise abuse and violence coz at the end of such dramas they will simply write it off as a misunderstanding.. have the male lead take a knife for the female lead and have them back together after the abuse, harassment, embarrassment, emotional turmoil, rape, etc they will have them back together either she gets pregnant or he gets stabbed by the pscho mistress/ supposed friend who is obsessed with the male lead while trying to attack and kill the male lead

Yes, agree with your comments. There's 2 shorter versions of this plot released a few weeks ago that were good. They were less than an hour. This version extended it to almost 3 times as long, adding ridiculous scenes that take away from the story.

Finally, someone gave justice to our drama FL and not made her loose in the end. Neither, she she second ML’s help to come out of misery either. Even after so many years she did not choose or is with the ML….. what a beautiful ending!!!! I wished if she would have realized that on the first day when he abused her …..and she would have left him forever and not developed any relationship or wasted 7 years of her life and emotions….then there would be true justice.
