The type 5 is the tier 10 punching bag. It CAN be strong, but it gets OBLITERATED by heat and the angled shoulders means it can't angle. The gun is very fun, but the tank has a bad time against prem these days.
Crazy enough the type 5 was my first tech tree tier 10 and i enjoyed the tier 7 and 8 but i didn't enjoyed the tier 9 its not unusable but i still played through it.
Type 5 with HEAT is an actual monster, as long as you are not stuck out in the open it should win most 1v1, not to mention this tank is the perfect counter to the AVRE, just shoot the mantle with HEAT for full pens whilst they only do around 300 damage back 😜
@@Petty360 Not or me on either sender or receiving lol, just hit a type 4 5 times in a row for 350-400 each on side of turret, then in my type 5 only got hit for a max of 400 from around 4-5 shells.
I rarely play my Type 5 Heavy for the same reason I rarely play my Jagdpz E-100 much anymore: Because they are major MAP-DEPENDENT tanks. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten Westfield on first battle of the day in those things which is like the worst map for them in terms of getting anywhere in time. Not to mention most players just slinging premium rounds at tier 9/10 anyhow nowadays. I keep the Type 5 though since it's the most juggernaut heavy that I have as I don't have the Maus. I like it every now n then but I do not enjoy it for more than a few battles, typically.
Actually I have the O-I, almost finished it. I don't like its big gun: too long reload time and I was often shocked to be unable to pen medium tier 5😱 so I use the previous one, with HE shells... When I play tier 6 and face Japanese heavy tier 8, I say: oh oh, as its name "O-Ho"... 😂 I think I'll use more HE shells then the others in that branch...
I just think the whole line is a big pile of garbage, doesn’t matter how much armor they have a good tier ten player with over 330 heat should absolutely destroy this large hunk of shit, use camo and speed, win every single time. Absolutely garbage line
K, even tho the game is basically Heat VS Gold at this point. Yeah never not one time was a S.Con a problem in the type 5. Also don't talk if you think S.Con is best, play the 5a then speak.

Seriously the jap Heavy tanks are just slow POS tanks, yeah sure you get one good game out of a dozen any tank can do that. Bro I have every tier ten except the nemesis and Andre, been playing since closed beta, at an average of 64% win ratio every season at a 1.80 KD, I think I’m good my guy lol

Also my point, type 5 is always like 99% is going to explode and do damage. So define a good tank to me. Because to me a tank that can always do damage i.e heat rounds all derp guns are good tanks. Especially when rng is thing. I brought the S.Conquer up because most people play that tank thinking it's top.

It doesn’t have a a good win ratio, armor doesn’t work well right now why in this world or the next would a gigantic boat tank with no camo, no speed, guns in the game that absolutely demolish its armor profile, be called a good tank? A good heavy is the VZ tier ten, not the type 5. Also the tier 8 jap heavy is actually booty cheeks idc what anyone says what a pile of poop

Yeah it still remains to be one of the WORST grinds from the mid-tiers.

While its true, it counters the AVRE well, the AVRE can smack it back for 500+. Its all dependent on where you hit it. Ive hit Types for 600.
The HE splashes them consistently for 5-600 too and breaks their tank as well which is great

Nobody talking about type 64 shot Petty and penetrated O-HO's front armor. There is no way to penetrate a tier 8 heavy tank with a tier 6 light.

You should use the secondary fire on the O-I and O-ni when top tier, really usefull when reloading.

sometimes my AP Shell from my FV4005 doesn’t pen its lower plate even when it’s straight and sometimes it does
That penetration RNG, depends on the Distance, angle Etc, it's a thick section of Armour so it's really not always guaranteed
