Fair play to those spectators who turned out for providing the footage. Bit of a damp squib to the end of the championship with neither Devine or Cronin willing to push in those conditions. I get the safety concerns, but to be honest those R5 cars with the level of braking, standing war aside are pretty much on railroads all the time. If the organisers were worried about safety call a halt to the rear wheel drive brigade and let the R5s duke it out to the end. I seem to remember a certain Bertie Fisher driving for a finish in 3rd place in 1999, only to drop it on the secomd last stage because he wasn't driving full tilt. Once overzealous safety becomes the priority over competitive racing a sport is dead
