      @VictorEstrada 4 года назад +1

      @@asadkhan-qm1my aight, I'm about to rip you a new one. Do you know what engineering is? It's mostly about efficiency in many ways, to achieve something. Engines back in the day, where mostly metal, extremely unefficient compared to today's engines. Plastic is used on all engines nowadays as you don't need metal on all components, as that makes the engine heavier, more expensive to build, and very unefficient and unreliable. Most engines today can easily out do more then 100k miles for this same reason, less weight and better efficiency. Also, I bet you anything that you've never even owned a new BMW to have a say in this... so shut up.

    I'm not that deep in because:
    1) My car isn't worth putting THAT much money into
    2) I'm more into the handling/comfort balance mix of things.
    The two things I want most for my car are Eibach ProKit springs and a Weappon R 4-2-1 header. Otherwise I'd be happy. Maybe some new bushings and a few underbody braces to give the overall structure a break would come later. Alloys aren't a huge want, but again... maybe way down the line. I still just enjoy what driving it can do.

    Some people are willing to go without. I think the BRZ and MX5 could have gone further-- what do I want with power windows? Regulations can't be helped, but too many features in a drivers car....
    Then again it's not like one can help wanting some lux, either. And not everyone can afford more than one car. But I see features as a distraction from the machine itself. If that's what consumers want to do, so be it. I'm a driving enthusiast, not a tech nerd or one to be bored on a drive.

    I feel that the car is laughable. Regardless of the looks, I really want one. Though you couldn't ask for more from what wiesmann has done with the interior, hand crafted and all, I do feel that it lacks a sort of finesse in the cockpit, and the gauges need to be in front of the steering wheel,Center console gauges in a Mini is fine but, I certainly would not want to take my eyes off the road for too long while driving that beast.

  • @andrewsalvo8100
    @andrewsalvo8100 11 лет назад

    im very aware of that, however the m5 does not need to be that heavy. BMW could use lighter materials (i.e. carbon fiber) and still keep the luxury aspect at the level it is currently at. Another point is that BMW M should start developing their own cars/supercars, for example an "M" or "M10" where its all about performance, because a supercar would not need two personalities, where that aspect is what makes an m5 special, btw the M5 is still an enthusiast car, just in a different way.

ZR1 runs 638hp supercharged built 6.2L V8. Hell the Z06 runs a 7.0L V8 505hp. This car could maybe keep up with a C6 Z06 on top end. But hey this is a nice car if it was availible more readily in america,,I guarantee americans would buy it. Its just not on Zr1 or Viper status.

    A chimp can master an automatic flappy gearbox,it takes skill to master a clutch properly and get the best times out if it.DCT's may be faster on a track because you don t have to lift off the clutch but who cares in day to day driving?I d rather have the involment that comes through a manual gearbox than a flappy gearbox Manuals will come back more once this fad is over and people remember that driving is about actually driving and not numbers in a car magazine. Flappy gearboxes? no thanks.

    I have a manual Brz I love it. If the auto was just as fast I would still take the stick. I took the original Audi Q5 3.2 Auto on a twisting winding road in northern VA. A front heavy AWD cuv. It was a blast. In sport mode the trans would not let go of 3rd gear. It was almost like it knew what I was thinking. It depends on the car. I hated the older Corvette manuals that made you shift from 1st to 3rd with the heavy unconnected clutch. I know one thing the DSG GTI is more fun than the stick.

  • @fatboy19831
    @fatboy19831 12 лет назад

    I love good manuals also. They are wonderful. (BUT) The dual clutch or DSG GTI is amazing it seems to know what you want to do and makes perfect shifts time after time. It will snatch second. The six speed Auto in the original Q5 was wonderful also. When you have a 540 hp 3000 pound car sorry I would pass on the stick. Unless you have lightning fast reflexes you would be hitting the fuel cut off all day long.

    There's that word again, "retro". The Weismann isn't "retro" but "classically styled". Not every car made needs to be a product of watching too much sci-fi and anime or straight from a "by gone" era. However, automobile designers should learn classic design, how it works, and why it is classic, before making up something "new". It works for musicians, architects, fashion designers, and so on.

    what u guys dont understand is that a BMW M5 is basically a family car which was never meant to be a racetrack car even though it is misused as such .dont complain about weight its the compromise between luxory and sportyness.
    this car however is reduced to its basics what a drivers car is about in old english sports car tradition.

  • @NoiteraD
    @NoiteraD 11 лет назад

    You could, but for once an M5 is meant to be a 5 series thats been upgraded, not a totally different car, and a 5 series is just your sedan you use to get to work and such, not a car you keep in your garage untill its sunny outsite and take it to trakedays. If you are looking for that kind of car, the M3 is the way to go, as there have been lightweight versions of it.

    I totally disagree. I love the feel of the clutch. Driving flappy paddles is like a video game. As far as the engine, I could care less if it's N/A, turbo, or supercharged. I really don't like the lag of a turbo, (and I'm not a turbo "fan") but if done right and I'm in a car hauling complete ass, I could care less about the aspiration.

    you are wrong ...
    1. the average germans are larger than the average us boys
    2. there was a german car tester and race driver called Patrick Simon he is with 6.34 ft much taller than you,he test drove the MF5 GT (the older version with the M5 V10 n/a) and had no problems at all to fit into the car..

    The Wiesman is a german interpritation of a Morgan type british sports car. Germany is still one of Morgans biggest markets. 'Gerry loves em'. Those and MG's.
    Wiesmanns are epic, epic cars, up close they are just wonderful and they have the coolest company logo. 7:31, that blue speedster looks great.

    dct = dualclutch transmission? if so, manuals lighter and automatet singleclutch transmission can shift faster (even though the shifting is brutal ...). also, clutchreplacment is very exepnsive on a dualclutch transmission. it's just smoother, that's about it.

    I'm a fan of BMW but in the last 5 plus years they have lost their way except for the E92 M3. Thank God for small companies like Wiesmann and other small manufacturers making rear wheel drive, light weight, beautifully designed, great handling, powerful cars.

    well i like him better than chris harris. i'm not saying chris harris isn't good. i just think jethro is better. he's equally as good as richard hammond, tiff and jason plato too. that's just what i think, i'm not trying to force it on you or anything.

    Unfortunately this is is the problem ... I want Nav/AC/DCT/Camera/HUD/4-seat/20"/Leather/El-Windows/1000W stereo - all of this add weight ... a lot of weight :( ... as do new security regulations ... so it's a comfy/safe car, but heavy (BMW/Audi/MB etc.) ...

    The M5 is no longer the enthusiast car you thought it was, if you ever did that is. It's more so a luxury super sedan, so the weight comes from those luxury amenities and etc. You should probably be looking at the M3 if anything.

    That car has Ultra tall gears and almost weighs 2 tons. You can stay in 3rd all year. Take 2 Corvettes with 400 hp. Run the Stick against the Auto the Auto will win 2 out of 3 times. In the 3600 pound Mustang GT you could not pay me to take the Auto.

    Those are really nice, but yea, like he said, the interior isn't full of different materials. I guess it's because they wanted a retro look, but if i was designing that car, i think a bit of wood or stamped steel trim would've looked perfect.

    I don't get why they keep saying 'retro'. Apart from the front grille it looks very modern to me.

    I can understand why they went for the auto box, but I'd really prefer a manual. We've got a C55 AMG and I always prefer driving our BMW 130i because it's a manual, and it's just a more involving experience.

    You're right, the auto is a shame. But it works pretty well with the paddles. The GT MF4 S - which is a bit cheaper, too - has the M3 V8 and can be had with M DCT or 6-speed manual. I really want to go back and try that one.

    Yes it is a joke, but i can understand where he is coming from. It's not a copy of the Viper, but it is a very light car, with a huge amount of horsepower, and that is what makes the Viper what it is.

    If you've got a 911, you wouldn't need a Wiesmann. And if you had both, the Weismann is the one going to be tucked up for the weekends. I think I'll save my 200K$ for a couple of Porsches, thank you.

    Its a beautiful car, but there are two reasons why I will never own one.
    1: Im broke as a joke. (obviously)
    2: Im 6-10". Most German sports cars will only fit Andy Rooney comfortably.

    Bmw should make something like this. clearly they have the engine and chassis, yet the cars weigh too much. The m5 is fast, no doubt, but it could be so much faster if it wasnt as heavy.
