I'm 82 and grew up in Innisfail. The Boulders was our favorite swimming hole and Etty Bay our favourite beach. Thank you for this memory. I must go back. My Dad painted half those buildings you have shown and made his money from mildew. They were all painted cream then and should be again.
@21EDO same here... great ol swimming hole along with a few others ...ettybay is our 10 day get away for the last 15yrs. Absolute shame the new owners can't get there shit together...fair dinkum useless
Babinda is my mum's home town. Was nice and quiet back in the day with little infrastructure rough dirt tracks and few people about. Playboy even did an article on the Boulders and the story in the 1980's.
.Hello, Beautiful areas, You tell wonderful and interesting stories about these places. I lived in Perth, Melbourne, and recently in Brisbane. This place is the best place to live for mature people like me and you. The situation got a bit complicated and I returned to Poland .I miss Australia very much. Regards, Waldemar
Nice video without any body trying to sell me s-t, at Paronella Park there is a water turbine used to power the park, after the big flood it fell into disuse, it has been resurrected and again producing power agane, imagine in the 1920 having power from water. It’s worth a visit the whole area is so interesting.
I just found your channel. How awesome. I miss FNQ. One day I'll get back there. Your channel is so cool. I look forward to binge watching the rest of your videos. I hope one day my channel will be as professional as yours. Awesome 🙏 One happy new subscriber here. 😁🙏
I visited Babinda years ago and as we were driving down the road, a black cloud appeared and it started to rain. Further down the road, it was dry. So the cloud just rained on us 🥴
@@gail2500 When I was about 15 and riding a motorcycle in Innisfail before I should have been, the rain was just as you described. Time to turn around and ride the other way!
Gotta give it to you Terry, the research and information you provide, including the video, is nothing short of spectacular and interesting, full watch 👀 beautiful spot, but I'd be taking notice of the signs, looking forward to your next adventure 😊 all the best stay safe 🙏🍻🇦🇺🏔🪃🦘
@LetsGo012 you're welcome Terry, my pleasure 🙏 and keep sharing, your channel is going to go off with videos like this. Just remember we said that 😉😂🍻🇦🇺🏔🪃🦘
He built it all by hand he even has icecream and a aquarium a fire destroyed it I went there for a wedding in the ball room before it burnt down he has a disco ball there
Another great history lesson, sometimes the most beautiful scenic area is the most deadly at the same time, the devil pools have got a believable story to it, cheers from Downunder 🦘🦘🦘❤️🇦🇺
Please. What bloke hasn't said hold my beer while I do some dumb shit. Think that's why the stories always have a fair maiden drowning you. I think its called natural selection. My mum used to tell stories dog got taken by crock there. Girl got taken by tiger shark there. Young bloke dived in hit his head on rock drowned there. True or not theyre told for a reason.

I went to both these places regularly when I lived in Innisfail. Also enjoyed going to Polly creek.
Many thanks for this beautiful video. I'm so proud to be living in this sensual and beautiful part of Australia.

This is truly better than Getaway on TV ❤
Babinda boulders is a beautiful spot . Just use your commonsense. Read the sighns . ❤ so glad you show cased it
Never knew about Babinda and certainly had no idea there was so much to see there. Thanks for the video.
It surprised me too. Lovely part of the world
Nice spot Terry 😀 thanks for another interesting video. Enjoy the Sun, Suzy
Great video. Went swimming at Paranella park water hole 10 years ago Thx for showing us your video.
Thanks. I’m sure Paronella is fine. They’re just being cautious
You are one lucky guy, thanks so much I loved every minute you produced, really well presented plus gorgeous music. 😎🇦🇺✅
Thanks so much.

Cheers. Australia is a beautiful country 😀
I couldn't believe those naive girls would sit so close to impending doom. I had watch it at least few times to take in the breast of the situation.
Congratulations on 5K plus Subscribers well deserved ❤🙏🍻🇦🇺

Welcome. 😀
We have such a diverse country. Tunnel of love, now Tunnel of stink will be in my head forever.
😂
There is so much history you have left out of the Paranella Park story. Thats a bit sad to me. But thankyou for showcasing it anyway.
Fabulous story very inspiring
Thanks 😀
What kind of work did you leave for this amazing lifestyle?
Not a high paying one that’s for sure. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and do what makes you happy.
Good warning mate, yes sadly people fail to listen hey!
Are there crocs at paranella?
There was a sign advising against swimming because of possible crocs.
BEAUTIFUL ♥️♥️
Thank you 😀
They were mermaids though, not people
Is that what the Legends say ?
Sirens most likely.

@21ED0 I think that there was also lightning in the cloud, but it was a long time ago. 😊
Nice

What happened to the lovely Jamie?
We’ve gone our separate ways.
If Joe Paranella built his castle at the turn of the century it must have happened around the year 2000
He built it all by hand he even has icecream and a aquarium a fire destroyed it I went there for a wedding in the ball room before it burnt down he has a disco ball there
Swim in Etty Bay. No crocs?
They have a swimming net so it was safe.
@@LetsGo012 Hmm. Not safe enough for me.
Let's go!!! 👍😃
Thanks 😀

It is beautiful & worth visiting. Just don’t go swimming there.
Oolana my arse. The people drowned there were killed doing stupid things.
Agreed. Doing the "hold my beer and watch this" stunts.

Regurgitating fantasy about spirits living in pools and there being "curses" is ridiculous.
We spent days wandering around there. Been back twice so far. Bloody beautiful to say the least.
Great video by the way. 👍
The tunnel of stink, lol
