Ok, starting a restoration on a 1972 Honda CB350. Motor is seized because of sitting too long. Owner had put oil in cylinders and turned it over occasionally but hadn’t in several years. So we start the process of bringing it back to life. I watched video you made on getting it freed up. It has virtually no miles as he bought it new in 72 and rode a little and then stored it away to raise a family. So I’m excited to start the project.
Matt, just wanted to say THANK YOU for your videos on the Cb350f! I purchased your carb cleaning video and it was worth every penny! I was able to do a full restore and actually win a local bike show thanks to you! I made a ride video of the finished bike if you want to see it. Thanks again!!!
Thank you so much for these videos. My husband bought your KX 250 vid. I noticed a few thumbs down I don't see how that is possible must be from repair shops.
What up mac its nice to heard about you again I always enjoy your videos and I rebuild a kx250 2005 with a new cylinder your video its a real life saver
So i got a 75 Honda CB550F. Some clown let it sit for god knows how lone and varnished the origionals carb. Had white deposits mixed with old gas for what looked like 20yrs. They threw a slightly better carb in it got it running and sold it to this fool in Austin who got suckered and realized they didnt know what to do. 6 month later i got it and i got both the oem carb and the second carb on the bike which was the same age. Some idiot put pennies in the gas tank i discovered. I chem dipped the OEM varnished carb and using 1 of its carbs rebuilt the 2nd carb. It was far worse than this video. It was horrible. I got it all running and i drive it now to work. It still needs work but i love this bike. Just wish someone would make a new carb for it at a reasonable price. This video was a good breakdown. Thanks.
thanks for the effort. just bought the full video and couldn't be happier. very useful information and well worth it. And I appreciate you letting me decide what to pay. Best 20 bucks i've spent on my CB 550 so far! Byron
why would you speed up the actual rebuild part and not talk about each part youre pulling, what they do etc? I feel like there's a lot of the most important information is in that section of the video.

Hey Alex, glad the KX video helped you out!

Those carbs were mint compared to the last few sets of carbs I've had to rebuild.
Yes, I couldn't believe that none of the screws were stripped! Usually there are always a few.
Awesome video! Unfortunately i dont think this applicable for my honda cb650 1981 right? Or is the proces the same? Thanks.
Nope, yours are different.

Byron, thanks so much for the feedback on the video! Glad it helped.
I wish i had something similar for my 83 CB1100F carbs, i´d buy it for sure
Maybe someday I'll have that for you.
Awesome video. My Keihin carbs on my CB650c are in need of cleaning. Is this video similar for those carbs?
What year?
@@HTMR I believe the carbs are off of a 79-80.
@@kevin.waldron Yes, those carbs are same style and this video will apply.
@@HTMR sweet. Thanks!
Hi where can i find the video on how to pullout carb from the engine?
So i bought the rebuild kits and the o-ring they sent for the bell housings, i cant quite get them to stay in the groove what am i doing wrong?
The title says CB 650, but you didn't mention it. Is that covered? I'll buy if it is.
If your carbs look like the one in the video then yes
Great video, is there anything around that covers the 79 650, these are a different carb to what I'm working on.
The 79' CB650 comes with similiar carbs as shown in this video. Unless they were replaced with other carbs?
I have signed up several times for cb5500 parts list and manual with no return email??
Ive looke hard for this carberqtor set for my honda cb500 for a while. I cant find them (even on ebay). Where did u get these carbs at?
They belong to the owner of the bike. Post a wanted ad here: forums.sohc4.net/index.php/board,182.0.html
Great quality videos. Well worth the Patreon.
Thanks!
thanks for videos...the carburators of CB 650 Custom 1980 are are similar to this 550?
No, yours are different.
Good vid BUT you skipped or rushed throught the most important part. The syncing or timing of them?
Yeah, this is just a sample of the 70min long full video.
Free instruction video: ruclips.net/video/JFTOfYl5BSc/видео.html
on the full version, is the full re-assembly and set up explained in detail, so the carburetor is ready to be put back on the bike?
Yes.
3:53 it starts .. you're welcome 5:15 it launches into MetHead speed so you can't see WTF is going on .. byebye
I dont even have this bike...its just relaxing to watch lol
Glad you like it :)
Will this video work on the 77 and 78 models? I know those carbs are a little different.
Yes, video is applicable. Your model should have fuel screws vs air screws.
@@HTMR the assembly of the choke etc. is very different.
i was hoping this would show the 77-78 carbs as their a little diffrent.
is carburettor cb400 like cbx750? because cbx750 also use 4 cylinder. hope you can answer me
No, you have CV carbs.
If the videos are purchased, am I able to download to watch offline? Is there also some package for all 550 vids?
Streaming only, sorry. I don't have package deals.
I'd like to be able to send my carbs to you to rebuild, clean and bench sync. Do you do that?
Yes, however I'm booked for the next few months.
MatthewMCRepair
That will be alright. Just let me know how and when and I'll send them when you want.
MatthewMCRepair are you available now for 550 carb rebuild, clean and bench sync?
Great video! Can't wait for you to do some Cb750 videos. By the way, is it easier to work on the 550 as opposed to the 750?
550 is easier than the 750.
Would this be the same for a 1974 cb350f?
Yes.
your pilot jet screw, how did you set it ? 1 1/8 turns back ?
Yes, about that or 1.5
Buy the video…😂😂😂. Would be a good idea if there was no other video on this EXACT procedure on the EXACT carb.
I've seen those....this video is better.
@@HTMR sure sure…🤭
Remind me of the concept of 1234

Go back and listen to the beginning of the video. It's a sample and the full video is available for purchase.
