RUclipsr of this roblox game for 3 years here, in my opinion the beta days was 10000% a copy of the minecraft version and skyblock is definitely stolen (Islands was closed many times due to its name having copyrighted). After about the 6th season the gameplay has drastically changed with its system and kits that its a completely different game than the minecraft one. The roblox version has many kits (abilities) such as 1 kill = more damage, triple shot sniper, eat orb = gain 800 hp, have flame thrower, have fire bombs, climb walls, 1 kill = tons of loot and so on. Roblox has much much faster building and sort of the bedrock minecraft building to it along with its 3rd person mode changing everything. Theres difference mechanics such as guardians spawning around diamond and emerald generators, bosses spawning, bosses that give you abilities, and now more recently there are new mechanics that is voted on for each round such as hatch a dragon egg, all beds break and the map falls apart after 12 minutes, faster generators, merchants spawning with op items to buy, glitched enchantments, snow cones (eat = buffs)
Nowdays just hop into a minecraft version then the roblox one and it feels like a completely different game in everyway

Ive also been playing roblox bedwars for 3 years, since release. I have only tried minecraft bedwars in 2022 and i can confirm both games were very different at the time, i can confirm roblox bedwars in its old days was more similar to mimecraft bedwars
I used to play minecraft all the time but now, seeing bedwars being stolen all of the children saying roblox bedwars was better was really like a punch to the gut.

Bedwars was first Introduced on the German GommeHD Server on 2014 based on the old Game of Aero.
actually it was first introduced on xisumavoid's og server in 2012 under the name "rush". bedwars is much older of a minigame than u'd expect

I was a Roblox bedwars "og" but as the updates went by it got more p2w and sweatier (not even mentoning the hacker problem) i really enyojed the game. Everyone has the chance to use kits, and the kits aren't OP if used with a wrong strategy, people are mainly strategic with kits, and that's what people don't understand, and the sweats isn't a problem, as they're competitive people playing a competitive game, and if you get mad by loosing, you're also competitive...
The sweatier side can also exist in MC Bedwars too. I can barley survive without being killed by some sweat speedrunning a big win streak.

bruh the amount of people who think hypixel made bedwars is dumb.... the original mini game was made by xisumavoid and servers really liked the concept so the revamped it and used it, and idk which server was first to use it but no one gives him credit any more, so hypixel bedwars and roblox bedwars are equally as bad in the 'stole the idea without credit' point
I wouldn’t say Islands or Bedwars flat out “copied” Minecraft. I have played both Roblox and Minecraft and if you get past the general early-game of Islands it is pretty different. It has a lot of new areas and items, including pets. As for bedwars, admittedly it is pretty similar but I think kits and the general gameplay differentiates it enough to the Minecraft version.
Roblox bedwars is way worse tho, minecraft mechanics combined with roblox physics does not go well, and the items to make roblox bedwars more "unique" makes games last longer and its p2w as hell, i dont get why people think its fun, to be honest roblox bedwars does not deserve all the popularity and fame

@@canoes6899 Yeah, I would say I prefer Minecraft bedwars for that aspect. I mainly play bedwars because I love roblox islands and I agree about the p2w but last time I played (which was a while ago) they had free kits available every weeks. I wouldn’t say that completely fixes it but it’s something, I guess.
@@canoes6899 Everyone can use kits, even if you don't pay, and Roblox Bedwars is a strategic game, and to make kits OP you have to use a strategy, and that's what people don't understand, and the fact how the games are longer is something good for me, that's just how the game is and if you don't like it that's your opinion, and Bedwars does deserve it's fame, as the devs update every week and the gameplay is way different to Minecraft Bedwars's.
Yeah, as a person who plays Roblox more than Minecraft, I can easily agree with that statement. Minecraft version is the original, however the Roblox version is more customizable and unique, simply inspired by the game.
The thing is that everything is just about having fun, lots of people are having lots of fun which is the whole point and that people that had a normal life and making careers and entertaining people so why not let me play what they wanna play

I understand that it's infuriating to have roblox steal your game but as a player of both i can safely say that the only similarity is the basic 'bed to respawn' part of it. Additionally, the game on roblox brought the bedwars genre to people who can't afford minecraft. Great video btw!

as someone who's been playing bedwars since day 1 i'd honestly say it's become completely different and a core aspect that sets it apart from hypixel is the fact that it has core game mechanic changes every season or so unlike hypixel which as you stated has a community that prefers not to have any core changes

Minecraft also cost a lot more money to make. With Java edition really can't make money for Mojang (Since they don't have marketplace like Bedrock). Not to mention in Roblox there is SO MUCH micro transaction. Some games are the worst of both world (Pay to win with loot box?).

Roblox Bedwars did NOT steal anything from Hypixel. The idea of bedwars does not belong to Hypixel, or else any bedwars server would steal from Hypixel. Roblox Bedwars added a LOT more features with new mechanics, kits, and gameplay, and is also WAY more sweaty and competitive. So in my opinion, Roblox Bedwars is its own game that didn't copy ANYTHING. Right now Roblox Bedwars is a WHOLE NEW GAME.

As a Roblox player myself who has rarely ever touched Minecraft, I agree with your point. Most of the games on Roblox are usually ones that are "inspired" by other games, not just Minecraft itself but also other games like Papers Please, FNAF, etc. etc. In addition to that, most of these games with high player counts don't look as high quality as other games on Roblox who look much better. Unlike DOORS, there is also other very high-quality and original/inspired games that go hidden on Roblox due to the algorithm being so poor and don't get popular. Most of the ones that do are ones that put less effort into them and are usually "inspired" by other games. I'm not trying to shade on these popular developers and I'm glad they got the success they wanted, I'm trying to make aware of the other developers who do way much more than them on their games only for it to flop. The Roblox algorithm needs to be changed.

Islands was actually fun in my opinion. I would play with my friends and it was super fun trying to get trophies or building my island but when they discontinued the game, it got super boring. Roblox Bedwars also used to be fun in my opinion for a few years but than it got super boring because of how pay 2 win it got and they kept adding kits which made the game just not as fun anymore. Their updates are basically all the same. They probably discontinued Islands because it wasnt making them money since it was not p2w at all really, but i still thought it was fun and I would play it everyday. Also, before I quit roblox bedwars I actually used to be very good at it and I would grind it everday, it just has became super boring after all the new content that is almost the same as the previous content

“Stolen” isn’t the best word for it, the owner of bedwars made a more inspired version of it, which is better. Also bedwars isn’t even something you steal, it’s an overall idea.

Ok can y’all stop judging the game before experiencing it, sure, they may have stole a bit too much stuff at first. But the game isn’t just a 1$ ripoff, they’ve been updating it weekly for almost 3 years now, and a lot of updates are pretty fun and interesting. And it’s not “no skill”, try playing it for a month or so first and you’ll see that it’s actually fun and takes skill. And the p2w stuff, yes, some kits may be unbalanced and way more overpowered than others. But u can literally rent kits for free and try it for 3 days, even limited time kits. You just need a certain rental ticket. + if ur rlly skilled like me then you can easily beat those “p2w” kits. W vid tho skyboi!

if roblox bedwars gets taken down they will go into debt even roblox would, since normal good player in it would spend about 10k robux in kits and bps and clans and 10k is 100 usd dollars, now imagine the 64k players who still plays it and spends way more, it would be sad for the developers and players

Bedwars attracts a player count of 40-50k while minecraft bedwars can't even get 10k. Minecraft bedwars has practically no updates and fr roblox bedwars has updates every week with a ton of new content. When a season in bedwars releases, the play count goes from 40 to 60-75k players instantly. Roblox bedwars will not die for atleast the next 3-4 years so we can expect to get good content on it from youtubers looking for lots of content and something new. RUclipsrs like TanqR, get on average 80 to 200k views a day or the smaller youtubers about 15-20k views which is still a lot. Viral videos on roblox bedwars can get till 4-5m views, minecraft doesn't even have viral videos anymore, not without much content.
Yet still bedwars in roblox sucks. Bedwars in roblox isn't good concept, so they took bedrock bedwars, which is easier.
Minecraft is just better for that concept.

Somethings I wanted to add has a roblox bedwars tryhard and minecraft bedwars tryhard.
Firstly, roblox bedwars is not a copy. The gameplay is fully different. The only thing that is the same is the conceptz and even that is much different.
Secondly, hypixel can't cppyright bedwars has they don't own the rights to it.
Thirdly, idk where u got the 82 million from, but roblox bedwars has made, at most, 20m (has shown in the leaks 1 year ago). This is not accounting for the expenses. All the devs are really well paid, and the hole game has been really expensive to make.
