I didn't quite know what to expect from this, though I love the original a great deal. It ruled! Rockwiz's duets are often brilliant and this is one of 'em.
it's amazing that there are people bitching about J covering this song ... guess what, he listened to classic rock too. even the most "hardcore" still heard radio growing up.
J IS HUGELY INFLUENCED BY THE BEACH BOYS- BELIEVE IT. OR NOT! ON THIS EPISODE A VERY DOWN TO EARTH J MASCIS ALSO REVEALS COBAIN ASKED HIM TO JOIN NIRVANA ON DRUMS PRE DAVE GROHL. .....TWICE! !
This is the 2nd time that this song has been on Rockwiz duets, the other being Tim Rogers & Rebecca Barnard a couple of years ago. I suppose that this song lends itself easily to a duet and I like them both but J Mascis' reputation wins this contest.
Never appreciated this song until I saw this version. J sounds exactly like Tom Petty, but Adalita is the star here. What an amazing vocal. Stevie who? Their harmony is sublime.
***** Firstly being in the Murder Junkies was hardly a career high for Mascis, more a bit of fun, and secondly Mascis is not competing with Petty simply playing one of his songs to support Adelita. Mascis has a back catalogue that is very respectable and he is without doubt one of the best guitarists of his generation.
Adalita and J mascis demonstrate the impeccable quality of the Rockwiz system.....bring it back if you know what's good for you....;)
I love how J keeps it under the radar. So cool.
I swear, all J has to do is look at a guitar and it's instant-awesome.
Adalita is a treasure, and should be protected at all costs!
I agree... absolute national treasure
He sounds freakin awesome

Adalita always brings something special 👍
Cake ?
Adalita kills this song. What an amazing voice. Glad I found this. J Mascis' guitar work is icing on the cake. Cheers DrDownunder!
J could do a cover of any song and make it fucking legendary.
Probably the best cover of this song ever..
Excellent
great version, great vocals, great guitar n great show!!
That was fkn dope🤙
A brilliant cover, Adalita the voice underated and the musical genius of J Mascis
Great stuff.
Love love love this girl ,
HELL YES J!
I love J
This is an awesome cover as well 😀😀😀😀
Damn this is awesome.
I'm so in love with this❤❤👽👽

1canuck he couldn’t sound more like Tom petty either! For real . Excellent tribute I think
@@parkerlong9217 hes a big petty fan, I remember him posting about being at a Petty gig awhile back
Anyone bitching is ignorant J. Mascis is a huge Petty fan.
J IS HUGELY INFLUENCED BY THE BEACH BOYS- BELIEVE IT. OR NOT! ON THIS EPISODE A VERY DOWN TO EARTH J MASCIS ALSO REVEALS COBAIN ASKED HIM TO JOIN NIRVANA ON DRUMS PRE DAVE GROHL. .....TWICE! !
@@briankennedy1192 they woulda rocked with J on the kit as well. His drumming for Witch is great
Stellar!
Fuc**** amazing!!!
Nice! J sounds good and that gal sure puts energy into a song that was always just OK for me in the past.
I like his covers. :)
never realised how similar petty and mascis are in terms of their voice
Absolutely fucking awesome!
Floored. This is fucking awesome.
Stevie and Tom (RIP) would be impressed by this rendition.
So love this. Thank you!
This is good.
Amazing! Thanks
that was so good, music and vocals both
Awsome
god damn, thanks rockwiz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111
❤❤❤love, love this❤
That was fucking brilliant!
Everything is better with J!
Good to see him using finger vibrato at the end
than just the whammy bar
YEAH!!!!!
Why have I not seen this before?
adalita formidable compositrice chanteuse , 2 albums seulement ,, mais fabuleux !! mr jay vieille connaissance ,respect , et bravo!!
I hope when they do a remembering (Tom Petty) concert they include j
It's all good!
noice
Hahaha, how's J's board! This is an excellent cover, Adalita kills it but J is incredible
good thing J brought his ENTIRE pedal-board
i woulda liked to hear him bustin out the big muff and just destroying this song lol
how good is adalita &j what do you say

chrisb1953 Bec and Tim we're better
N A I L E D I T G U Y S ! ! !
Jodeeer :D
Seems like everybody brings their best game to a rockwiz gig
Shit yeah
any body baggin this must have two to play with.

Great cover! Miss the harmonies though...
Add-a-litre sounds more like Patti Smith than Stevie Nicks, but Mascis nails Petty's guitar spot-on!
mike campbell lead guitar in the heartbreakers..
@@jsmith2502 I was jumping on to say that lol
Do you happen to have the full episode by any chance?
Skelanth721 Nope sorry. You might still find them at the SBS website (www.sbs.com.au)
Those fender straps are like belly buttons it seems everyone has one or has had one.
Its a good effort by J to sing close to Tom Petty.
Strap was case candy with my 95 strat plus...
Who's Adalita? She's good.
lead singer of Magic Dirt
ruclips.net/video/I7ihro09ico/видео.html
But better if J kept it one teensy half octave higher- he killed it on the whathumacalit repeat parts.
Yeah. All I got. Love J
Hot singer
Adalita and J do this very well they do seem a little awkward with each other.
I thought it was Sean Lennon
at first
haha just saw it...its as big as a church door
Why the fk would you have a Marshall stack in a setting like this ??? bring out a 15W and crank the fk out of it ... great rendition tho' 👍🙏
Ha! This is the 15w version of J.
Is that J Mascis' dad?
Mascis is definitely outside his comfort zone here
Needs raspiness to her voice and she's set
This is good but Stevie and Tom are class.
Back when rockwiz was about music. Now it's Julia's political springboard. Shame.
Although I love J and Adalita to bits this is not a patch on the version that Sharon Van Etten and Shearwater did
So, the former guitarist for the Murder Junkies has been reduced to this ?
***** Firstly being in the Murder Junkies was hardly a career high for Mascis, more a bit of fun, and secondly Mascis is not competing with Petty simply playing one of his songs to support Adelita. Mascis has a back catalogue that is very respectable and he is without doubt one of the best guitarists of his generation.
Yeah. that song has sucked for what, 30 years now. Mascis has to say no once in a while.
Oh I don't know, he does a nice job and it's interesting to hear him play in this style
J was in the New York Superscum, to be pedantic. Just a one off show.
a bit limp and unconvincing. Was wanting her to really punch that out. Not just go through the motions.
No. Just no.
Wtf this is great
J's singing much less pitiful than usual.
She doesn't have the greatest voice I've ever heard. Bit painful.
I think this is J pulling a joke? This was a horrible thing to see and hear imo.
flamencopeko what's wrong with you
