Monsignor Giuseppe Russo appointed new Bishop of Altamura, Gravina and Acquaviva

The Pope has designated Monsignor Giuseppe Russo, of the clergy of the metropolitan archdiocese of Taranto and parish priest of San Francesco d'Assisi in Martina Franca, as the new bishop of Altamura-Gravina-Acquaviva delle Fonti.
The appointment was officially announced by the Archbishop of Taranto, Monsignor Ciro Miniero, on the morning of Thursday 7 December at the Archbishop's Palace, in the presence of the new bishop and Monsignor Filippo Santoro.
Monsignor Russo succeeds Monsignor Giovanni Ricchiuti, who has reached the age of 75.
