Have I got a good one for you today. Now, I don't normally see that many critters on my jobs, the noise usually scares them away, but this one is a bit of an exception. The homeowner was chuffed when I knocked on his door and offered to do a free makeover. When he showed me the backyard, he said - I bet you'll regret taking this on. If only he'd seen some of the jobs that I've done, hahaha! He actually inherited this place from his mother and, as you can see, would prefer to be doing something else, besides gardening. Anyway, this is a good episode, I'm sure it will be a satisfying watch. All up, I spent around 16 hours on this job, with 2 trips to the landfill included.

    FAQ's:
    Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
    Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
    1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
    2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
    3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
    4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
    5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
    Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

The wife and I watch 5 mowers here in the States and 3 in Australia. The quality of work and the effort you Aussies put into the yards you makeover is far superior to the "Yanks" we watch. Your attention to detail is top shelf and your complete cleanup of both trash and cuttings is great to watch and leaves the yards looking so professionally done. Keep up the great work even if it does make our mowers look inferior.

I’m in England and I totally agree with you. George is very methodical in his work, whereas most others I’ve watched are very slap dash. He moves everything that is in the way instead of scooting around it, which makes a massive difference to the end result.
Keep up the good work George, you’re the best on here by miles 👍😊 x

Thank you for working your "magic" on this property. Tidying, pruning, uncovering overgrown walkways, shepherding blue-tongued skink to a more secluded potential habitat, mowing/bagging an heroic amount of lawn/leaf/bark clippings certainly relieved the client, gave the flora a chance to "breathe" and gentrified the property beautifully. Bet you tucked in after this one!❤🎉😊

3:25 am in Montreal and (0 C and snowing at this hour). Welcome to another episode of "What's in the Garden," with your host George, George, George of the Jungle !!
Wait, Wait, Wait, Who are you and what have you done with our George ???
Does George seem a lot calmer and more Zen today?? He's out of uniform as well. The music is even Zen as well !! The Blue Gum is such a Majestic Tree. Just a "bit" of Dust !!
I would call that at least a cord and a half of wood, if chopped up for firewood !!
Sulfur Crested Cockatoo Animal #1, Blue Tongue Skink Animal #2.
George, hands down, that was the most ZEN garden fixer upper you have done to date !! Well Done. A beautiful way to start a day !!

Hello George! I always admire your work and especially how precise you are. Not every gardener has it. For example, rearranging the bricks or comparing the logs under the shelter. Others would let it go and not deal with it. You are unique in that!!! This transformation was also amazing, including the zoological pacifier, although I wouldn't want him in the garden :-)))
Take care and have a nice weekend!!!💯💚👍👍👍🌿

Wow! George, you did a great job. Changing Hobart one yard at a time. Initially, it didn't look that bad, but when you finished you could really tell the difference. you opened up pathways, stacked the wood, cleared up the clutter; and additionally trimmed the trees and bushes. A pleasure to watch!

Hi George, exceptional attention to detail. Love your explanation of plants and wildlife. You and your equipment got a real hard workout on this property. Looks like Tasmania is very dry.

Your work ethic is beyond unbelief. You should come to America and show them how it is done. I mean stacking the wood, stacking the bricks, puttng all the stuff away, unbelievable, it would never happen here. They would just mow around it and it would look just as junky as before. You should be so proud of yourself. God bless you my friend.

Very nice. I enjoyed the wildlife! The Blue Gum tree looks similar to our American Sycamore tree with its peeling bark and white trunk. Job well done!

What a cool house with that lovely green space and exercise path at the back! It’s a treat to see various places in Hobart and ocean breeze scenery while it’s winter in the states. Your methodical system and knowledge of flora is great to watch. Remember, moderation in all things, including moderation. 😄
