A truly 2# light tackle master at work.. proof of master patience skills and determination. You landed that big blue in my books… it might not mean a lot coming from an insignificant viewer but… I’m sure that more than one regular viewer shares my thoughts… Congratulations
Could have been a World record catch on 2lb test line! Still a very special moment to catch and record for us all to witness ! Thank you Justin! I hung a huge Flathead years ago on 6 lb test a small tru turn hook with a cricket and was a few feet of landing it... Was fortunate to at least see what I hooked as you did too! I figure that fish was in the 50 to 60lb range!
I can't tell you how many times I've hooked something oversized while bait fishing, only to have it spit the hook or break the line. Nice work on getting it to the boat! At least you know what it was and how bit it was (and you have video proof to boot!)
That is officially a catch in my boat. That was epic, you did an amazing job. Loved the video and I would watch the unedited version. You did not botch that catch. Excellent fight🎣
great video, you did great just to see him. it's always fun to hook something too big for your tackle. stay safe. ps. just count it as a quick release lol.
This is why I love fishing. You literally never know what’s going to happen. Some of my biggest catches have been on light tackle trying to catch bait, heartbreaking at the end but it makes for awesome stories !!!
I have done that before as well. Learned years ago on my Kayak that you can take a 40 pound Cat home like a dog on a leash. Pedaled them all the way back to the dock like a dog on a leash. As long as you don't try to bring them to the surface, a big Cat will go right along with you across the lake.
it's not always the one you land you can brag about. it was a great attempt and it was fun to watch all the way up here in Pa. nice job on that monster.
Good as caught imo….I caught a 46 pound flatly on a 6 foot medium rod and 8 pound line once. Was throwing for stripers flukes on a 1/8 ounce jig head. Nice catch Bro!
I see a lot of comments of people saying they count that as a landed fish, but as a fisherman, that doesn't quite cut the mustard. Fighting the fish for so long, all the way to the boat was HUGE, but as you know, if something is going to go wrong, it's going to happen right there at the end of the fight. Yes, it was great that you fought it to the boat and it was basically defeated, but there's that feeling in the gut that isn't satisfied until you've done that and held the fish to complete the fight. This was close, and I suspect that you'll be even more fired up to make complete a battle like this. When you do, Justin, I hope you're able to break the ultra-light record for the size of fish on 2lb test in Tennessee. Make sure you know the record so that you can get your future record into the books! You have all the gear and, obviously have the expertise and drive to get it to the boat. Man, I look forward to seeing you land one for the record books. You're talented enough to do it, and I have no doubt you'll eventually do it, should you set your sights on it. Could this be a goal you can specifically pursue as a goal with your future content? I sure hope so! 🤜🤛
Nice one! Reminds of the time I hooked a 30lb striper on 6’ line trolling for crappie in early spring. Had to chase him with the trolling motor because he was headed to main channel from back in a long hollow I was trolling lol
In my opinion Justin, you caught it and I'm sure many others will agree with me. However I do see where you are coming from on wanting to land in the kayak. It is what it is and I say congratulations.
Oh the agony of de feet.😫😫 You did real good getting him up that close Justin. Almost every time I hook something big like that on light tackle it pops the line pretty quick.
I hooked about a 15 lb drum on my Daiwa regal 1000, 4 lb test. What a great reel. Bought it at an auction for $30 (was on an All Star medium action 7ft rod, why?). Besides being silky smooth, the drag is perfect, consistent, and allowed me to land that big ole drum. Finding a true ultra-light rod rated for 1/32oz lures and in 6 to 6 1/2 foot, without spending over $100, is HARD. Nice catch Justin.
Man that was a goodun… At least we got to see him… That’s a win in my opinion on 2 lb line. Because if you would have been in a boat you could’ve easily got him in a net.
Well they're Justin and Eastern Iowa last year around this time I was catching northern pike on my ultralight crappie rod 30in and you are right just set the drag loose landed a bunch of nice ones probably 17 of them over 30 in couple guys see me or like holy crap you're landing them on that pole yep
I've watched shark fishing videos where they get the fish next to the boat and either cut the line or remove the hook (if possible), and it counts as a catch. I'd say this counts too.
That's a win bro. No, you didn't "land" the fish but that's not a disqualification. You've got a video of you working that fish to the surface, reaching out to grab it after the fish was completely defeated and had surrendered to you. I grew up watching The Walkers Cay Chronicals, that was masterful angling sir. Bravo. Objectively though, I don't think you could've landed the fish. No glove, no net, in your kayak, with 2lb flouro, I think you "land" that fish successfully 3-6 times out of a hundred attempts. Raise your head sir, you're a champion.
That's a catch all day. Just like shark fishing. You touched it so you got it. lol I remember years ago when I was a kid, my best friend and I were bass fishing fanatics and we went bluegill fishing on some beds and his dad had a zebco 33 with an old fiberglass rod and 2lb test. He caught an 11 lb largemouth on it. The thing was so fat from eating bluegill it didn't even fight and we reached over the boat and just rolled him in. lol I would NEVER get that lucky.
It's incredible that you were able to get a fish that size next to the kayak on 2 lbs test line ! I call that a catch , all things considered ! 👍👍
A truly 2# light tackle master at work.. proof of master patience skills and determination. You landed that big blue in my books… it might not mean a lot coming from an insignificant viewer but… I’m sure that more than one regular viewer shares my thoughts… Congratulations
I sure wish I hadn’t seen your comment. I guess it saved me the time of watching vid.
Sorry…. I never thought it would stay up on top of the comment list
@@horaciogonzalez8160 It’s all good.
Bro the damn fish got away. It was a loss 🤣
@@jasondauenbaugh9060 whats the difference? He lets them go so they can grow..
Nice catch & release! 👍
It would have been a miracle to have landed that monster you did a excellent job of fighting him.
That is a verified catch. You touched the line within a foot of the fish and I consider that the leader.
Great job!!!
We got to see him and you got the fun of the fight. That's a total win in my book!! Awesome job Justin!
Thanks Teri!
Justin, that's a win in my book. Congrats, nice fishing. Please show the type of lure you were using ,please.
Mantap
Trying not to be mean, but he tells you exactly what he is using....Google it ...lazy
Even has a link in the description above bro!
@@xarrow81 u r trying to be mean, googling it gives u the type of lure but not the size and color, softball.

😂
I bet those 3 inch gulps would make an awesome thing to drop down with your catfish bait like you do with those flies,as long as your hook was strong
No botch in my book. Catch and release of the most humane way possible!!!! Awesome job.
That's a win in my books. Nice fish on ultra light rod
WOW great catch what an amazing fish great job

WOW what a cat brother. This is why i,m a big fan of your live scan. Love that video.
That was a heck of a job getting him that close on that light of tackle and at least you got to see what it was
😂 aww man! Crazy catch on that ultralight!
Awesome job, landing it or not that was really cool to watch. I didn't know if we were going to see it. The suspense was killing me. Lol
I can't tell you how many times I've hooked something oversized while bait fishing, only to have it spit the hook or break the line. Nice work on getting it to the boat! At least you know what it was and how bit it was (and you have video proof to boot!)

No botch at all!!!! You had it man, well played and so close. I'd count that as a nice quick release.
Still awesome! Always fun to get something unexpected like that!
Sangat keren
great video, you did great just to see him. it's always fun to hook something too big for your tackle. stay safe. ps. just count it as a quick release lol.

What a fish! Well done!
Like your new graph setup!!! Tight lines Justin!!
Yes we will would watch 21 minutes of fighting a giant Blue on 2 lb test…. Love it! Good to see ya back on here again! Yes claim it !

That counts as a catch in my book. You got'em to the boat and could see it was a good 35" fish. Great catch!!
That's a catch in my book Justin! Not gonna lie, I cringed every time you'd raise that rod up thinking that line was gonna snap. Nice job!
Good as caught imo….I caught a 46 pound flatly on a 6 foot medium rod and 8 pound line once. Was throwing for stripers flukes on a 1/8 ounce jig head. Nice catch Bro!
HOLY-💩!! I felt that snap Justin!😫😭
But what a dang good catch on that UL. As soon as it snapped I would have jumped in after him!💯😂
😂😂😂 right on bro glad you got a chance to see it good fight 🎣🎣🎣
Way to go Justin nice catche that was huge for 2lb test line!! At least you seen him thanks for sharing!!
The battle would get Ole 👊🏾!!! Keep dropping lines bud!!! Love it
Great job !!!!! What a heart breaker but I call it a win after that battle at least you got a good look at him.
Benar sekali
Thanks Tim!

(but you knew that) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOVE watching you fish. KEEP THROWIN!!! 😅👍
Nice... Actually a smooth release.. good work...
Gotta love that catch! Impressive catch.

Ha ha ha that was awesome great job Justin at least you seen him
Hey man that was fun just watching you, great job
Hell yes you claim that big cat. You got him to the cayak. That was flippin awesome. I would have broke it in 2 seconds. Well done sir
Oh! The one that got away.Great job and better luck next time!
Best catch and release I have seen lately.
Awesome video Mister Justin always love your videos keep up the good work

Anyone else instantly hit the like button as soon as the video starts?
That exact same thing happened to me at lake of the Ozarks pissed me off 🎣🐟👊
It’s like the the big fish at 7 mile bridge.
Love your videos great job man

Nice fight! You definitely did better to get him that close than I have ever seen.
Thanks Greg!
Landed or not that was still super kewl. Thnx for sharing Justin
On Feb.18th @8:41am while watch Mr. Justin video I caught a 20lb blue. Thanks Justin!! 😂
I hooked about a 15 lb drum on my Daiwa regal 1000, 4 lb test. What a great reel. Bought it at an auction for $30 (was on an All Star medium action 7ft rod, why?). So close!! Nice work!
Great job on ultralight gear.
I had the same thing happen to me awhile back. I use 6lb line on my light rod and I hooked a dam monster. Sadly it got me in the rocks and cut me off.
Man that was a goodun… At least we got to see him… That’s a win in my opinion on 2 lb line. Because if you would have been in a boat you could’ve easily got him in a net.
Nice Justin that had to be fun
Where I'm from ur hand was about a leader from that fish that's a catch great job and one hell of a blue
Awesome fight! Hey, I've just move to Anderson county and haven't figured out these winter cats, any tips on a good bank fishing spot?
Man so close it was amazing you got it up that close.
You are the man, Sir! I am an ultra-light angler and want you to know in my book you caught that fish.
Hey man. I was wondering what size H bar you have setup for your graph. I want to order one but don't know what size to get
Great catch
Evening I don’t usually comment on videos due to bots…really enjoy your videos brotha, Rock on! See ya on the water!
That was a monster for 2lb line justin at least you got to see him way to go buddy
What A beauty great job
We're gonna give that one to you Great Job I don't have the patience😮😮
I'm just impressed you got a look at it at all. What can you do. 🤷♂
Awesome! Could have watched the whole fight. Great job... catch in my book. Net would have been nice.
Bro that's still a catch the way I consider things we catch and release anyway good job Justin especially on 2lb and ultralight rod
Mantap
Great video and great catch, get some stronger line😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well they're Justin and Eastern Iowa last year around this time I was catching northern pike on my ultralight crappie rod 30in and you are right just set the drag loose landed a bunch of nice ones probably 17 of them over 30 in couple guys see me or like holy crap you're landing them on that pole yep
You had the line with in a leader distance would be considered a catch great job !
Wow that was exciting! I kept saying to Will “how did he do that with 2lb line?!” Great video!!!
Thanks Lynn!
Great job, might not landing him or her but thrilled yes
Give me some perspective. Was that a dinc? Fun sizer? Golly whopper?
Incredible to get it that far on an ultra light set up!
Note to self!
Always bring the net!
No exceptions!
I call that a catch and release Great video
I use that same line on some of my ultralight gear. You'd be surprised what 2lb is capable of, but that really pushed it!
On a crappy magnet! Dang bro lol 🤣.
Beast mode
I've watched shark fishing videos where they get the fish next to the boat and either cut the line or remove the hook (if possible), and it counts as a catch. I'd say this counts too.

You got to see the fish which is a win!
We can count that as a win. All that on 2lb line. Good job sir
That is a catch and release in my book 😆
I'd be willing to wager, you would've broken some kind of record had you landed it. Super cool Justin!
Cant wait to see it
Could have maybe been a world record on that line classification.
What an awesome fish
Justin, why did you grab the line?
Shoot man! That one counts bro…. 😂 good times
People can tell between a 1.75lb crappie and a 2lb crappie and ur just like well I'm pretty sure it's a fish or a whale lol I love it
Just curious what happens if you flip that kayak with all that expensive gear on it?
That's a catch all day. Just like shark fishing.
