This album deserves the comment section filled ....such an eclectic sounding heavy album that to me was melodic and heavy and young Chris was just on a different level
@morrisbuschmeier2047 As someone who was from Seattle at that time, there was no grunge genre. That was made up later by record executives or marketers. We just considered it rock music, of some kind. Nobody really thought about the subclassification.
I can state this with 100% certainty. If my children ever want to peek into my tastes in music, this album is my #1 of all time. No question about it. It was soooo influencial on me. I really felt like this was the greatest thing to happen to music when I was 19/20 years old. When I got this album, it changed my tastes in EVERYTHING, not just music. I liked this wayyy better than Nirvana. Fo sho.
Certainly a genre defining album. Artistic and technical excellence paired with Exquisite production. I appreciate the Black Sabbath vibe in some of those chunky riffs!! I fondly recall listening to this pre-release while cruising down the Alaska Way Viaduct en route to the Vogue, or was it the Central Tavern…such good times I don’t recall. 🤘🖕
As soon as Big Dumb Sex hits they're dead for sure! Your boss... not so sure... 😏@@morrisbuschmeier2047 _F^^^^^^..._ PS: ... 8 months later... did they survive!???
This album makes you realize that Soundgarden isn't just some lesser version of Nirvana, but a musical giant in their own right. A great band that is more varied and talented than people realize. You like more of a hard rock/heavy metal sound? The first two albums are for you. You prefer that classic grunge sound? Bad Motorfinger and Superunknown are your jams.
I wonder and worry about what has been lost when I listen to a band like Soundgarden. They mean so much to me in a deep way. Is there music these days that hits people in a place that is not blindly inspirational or erotic? genuinely asking
Does LTL was ever re-released as an remixed / remastered version with all the b-sides or EP songs? I know they did it with Ultramega Ok, Badmotorfinger and Superunknown. I wonder if I have missed it or if it was never released?
Man, Hiro Yamamoto is a SMOKING bass player!!! Ben Shepherd is a worthy successor and great in his own right, but I think Hiro is technically more proficient.
So I have a couple questions for the person who runs this channel (Gal Godonut)..if they don't mind (of course they don't have to answer if they don't want to). 1. Does your RUclips name have anything to do with "Gal Godot" (Wonder Woman) 2. Are you a woman? ( whether you are or aren't doesn't matter, I was just curious)

Yup! Soundgarden those days was very close to metal, but they kept distance, so we can enjoy their work as the grunge genre.
I think Chris's voice peaked around this time... 1989-1991. This album was right in that "sweet spot."
F**k yeah.
Yeah thus albums killer too bad alot of people don't go past Badmotorfinger too hear this beast of a record.

Seen them 3 times in their early years. Love them!

This album got me through my mid-teens in 1995, right after Kurt passed, I went full on SG.
One of The Best albuns ever !!!!... Part Of my history !!!!!
I 🖤 this channel. This is my fave Soundgarden album...and the first "Grunge" album that I had bought back in the 1980s.
I used to play this on the radio
Audiophile......with the vine. Weed and wine.
Very loud
Beautiful
...thanks Chris
Too loud for headphones
Oh my God.....😊
I need a doctor.
Hearing loss.......

27:30 If you've got some time to kill
Slow resistance wins the war
Well I know
Yeah, but that's no way to go
You can't resist the louder pulse
Thanks man! ♥️
My speaker's just died💔
@@morrisbuschmeier2047 your welcome, i’d say turn it up!📢
Now I'm torturing my headphones. When they die, coworkers are next.
Until their death.

Soundgarden was clearly better than Nirvana.
IM SO GLAD THE RADIO NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO RUIN THIS ALBUM

YAS!
whos kevin and what did he do to chris

However you cut it. Fuck it rocks , shit. Just listen ❤

Has he ever commented about regrets of leaving the band?

They lost me after Badmotorfinger
You are mostly RIGHT... I think substance abuse, however downplayed...had a great deal to do with the death of this band.
