Leia's lightsaber is really beautiful. It's really weird it didn't have any merchandise representation after the movie came out (I understand why it didn't before, obviously to avoid spoilers).
Hey Sir James, I am planning on purchasing Leia's legacy lightsaber during the summer this year along side the Xbox series S. This lightsaber will be the first legacy lightsaber I ever owned, because I don't often go to Disney because I live in another state and my parents aren't exactly crazy rich to go to places, but never the less I'm very excited to own this saber.
Not really if people never had the other hilt then it works out I’ve seen people make custom saber boxes which are $60 plus I do feel sorry for the people spending $700 plus from scalpers

I totally agree with you about how orange the Leia saber hilt is. I do believe the movie color is more rose gold, not electric orange (lol)!! I already assumed (before you attached a blade) that there would have to be an adapter exchange to use the blade. After all, her saber is modeled after Luke's ROTJ hilt. Unfortunately, just like Luke's hilt, the chunky adapter piece ruins the thin neck design. As a side not, I do not understand (..for the life of me...) why Disney engineers cannot simply use the established movie activation buttons to ignite their sabers!!! Most of these hilts have obvious, if not brightly colored, buttons on them where simple on-off circuitry could be used. In my opinion, from building my own lightsabers, it is more difficult and challenging to use discrete (like on Leia) and sliding (like on Rey/Luke and Vader) switches because of their design. I currently have a custom, slightly more expensive version of each hilt (I believe you do as well, Sir James from your previous videos) and I would choose them over the Disney replicas anytime.
With Leia's saber I think the problem comes down to the adapter. The button is part of the section that needs to be switched, so it would probably be difficult to make it part of the electronics.
If you really had an activation button you would be paying more than a few hundred dollars for one... The types of buttons or slides they use to activate the Lightsaber obviously is to keep the cost down... There are other options out there if you're not satisfied with Disney's Light Sabers 👍

The price isn’t all that much really , just think what they’ll be worth down the road , it’s more of an investment than just wasted or spent money. I will say that I kind of disagree about the “Orange” color. I have it sitting right here on my desk and it is a very copper color, very similar to copper tubing, if it was polished. And the “Pearl” detailing is very nice looking.
I hate the chunky blade on Luke’s and Leia’s hilt. I wouldn’t be hitting it against anything anyway so it woulda been good if they did something so you could still put the blade on the thinner end. Makes me lean towards anakins hilt for my first purchase
Well, I knew it from the first time I saw Leia's saber in others reviews and pictures that he looks too orange! And that was a big let down. So I won't buy it. You should've compared Leia's saber with the other model that you made a review before. That one (I don't know wich brand) looks beautiful. Very shiny and it looks like copper, I love that one and probably will try to buy that one instead of Legacy one. Thanks for this review!
Its cool and I realize there's people who will definitely love this as is with Rey's saber but I really would have preferred Luke's from ANH. I also think Disney needs to look around at the lightsaber market because they really didn't execute well on Leia's... From most of the parts that made her saber look elegant looking like painted plastic to the fact that you need to change the look of it to use a blade is just a fail to me.

On StarWars day , I have to do the waiting game which is fine because mine will be fully loaded , I will have the bluing done on emitter end just like yours . Come on Disney this is a cheap looking foam filled box that plays music. Leia's saber is the wrong colour and the blade add on makes it look like a torch.
I would have gotten the set just for the box. The Leia hilt doesn't impress me because I have an Ultimate Works version, as a prekit. The reforged hilt, I could learn to like it, but not get it myself.
That shirt is awesome. I had a very similar idead for a box for my friends ahsoka tano rebels sabers. When you opened the lid it lit up and ashoka said im not jedi. I started building g it but never had time to finish it. Now if I do everyone will think I copied this.

I went back to see the movie and the problem with Leia's saber is that the silver is supposed to be a reflective chrome that's why it looks a little lackluster
Dude not to be a critic here but you should have taken all the stickers off of both of the lightsabers before you did the whole thing with burying them would have made it a lot more accurate.
Man seeing that they used the Emitter change here makes me think that they probably would have done the exact same with the lord corvax lightsword if we would have chosen that

I read about this set coming for May the Fourth and didn't think I was interested, until I watched this review about a month ago. After some research I found out they had quickly sold out on the 4th, and mainly to people who's only interest was reselling. So off to the auction sites I went trying to buy one for a decent price. Lots of sellers trying to make a killing and holding out for ridiculous prices. It took me about 3 weeks, but I finally found a seller that was willing to work with me and today I took delivery of a brand new factory sealed set. 0769 of 3000 is mine! Disney should make the inquisitors lightsaber, Ezra's blastersaber from rebels seasons 1 and 2, Caleb Dume lightsaber, and Mauls cane lightsaber, it would be awesome

I think the adapter on Leias make it a entierly different sabre.. But standing on it´s own the design that is created is nice... Not Leias sabre.. but still nice.

This set was sold out thanks to scalper. The min I found out about this set the day of, it was sold out within mins and eBay was selling for $1k...
There is a picture on the official Star Wars website of the prop and it appears to be pretty orange.
I would have gotten the set just for the box. The Leia hilt doesn't impress me because I have an Ultimate Works version, as a prekit. The reforged hilt, I could learn to like it, but not get it myself.

I live in PA so I only go to Disney every three years and next year will be my first time at GE but since I live so far away I also have to take a plane which means I have to fit all of my merchandise, which will reside of at least 4 legacy sabers and much more, so I want to get an idea of how big of a suitcase I will have to get.😂
