Hello, my laptop was being slowed down, I tried to make it faster by using registry entries. but all these registry entries made my laptop slower even more, After using this method my laptop was surprisingly faster than ever. Thank you.
For those of you having issues with the file running, please augment the process a bit during the "Save" portion of this video. When you save, select "SAVE AS", and choose your directory (Desktop in this case)-- then in the File-name field, type a quotation mark, whatever you want to name the file, then another quotation mark. Now press Save. Correct format: Type "Registry_Reset.bat" Incorrect format: Registry_Reset.bat --> Following the video's instructions for this step (WHICH ARE WRONG), actually saves the file as Registry_Reset.bat.txt; Notepad is a native TEXT editor, so that makes sense. LONG-EXPLANATION The UNDERLYING (AND HIDDEN) CIRCUMSTANCE is with your view of extensions (the option to show all extensions, systematically across the machine, is an option you must elect via "Folder Options"... The extension visibility OPTION is set to "Don't show file extensions" by default). What you see In the folder structure LOOKS right, when file extension visibility is 'hidden', but remember, if you haven't changed the option mentioned above, you SHOULDNT be seeing an extension on the end of that file-- or ANY file for that matter... it's hidden. The fact that you do, should be the first course of indication that the file is not what you think it is. Its icon should also be another telling attribute. SHORT-EXPLANATION --> When you save a file via the method shown on the video, you're actually saving the file as a .txt document (default extension for Notepad)-- SANITY-CHECK --> If you're a fact-checker, give it a go-- follow the video's instructions to a T. Then, navigate to that folder in Windows. If you're on Windows 11, at the top of the window, you should see "View", "Filter" and then all the way to the right, a vertical 3-dot menu. Click the 3-dot menu and select "Options". In the resulting window, select the "View" tab (1st tab is "General", 2nd tab is "View", and 3rd tab is "Search"). Once in the "View" tab, look in the 'Advanced settings' Tree container, and you'll see, about 9 elements down, a checkbox (checked) in the "Hide extensions for known file types". UNCHECK THAT, press Ok (or you can press Apply, then OK, if you're OCD). Now, you might notice a quick flash of the screen, as Windows rebuilds the view cache... completely normal. Having pressed OK, this should return you to the folder containing the file this video describes the creation of. Notice the ACTUAL extension? There we have it. WHAT WE'VE LEARNED if there's one takeaway from this blurb, it's this: --> Wrapping the file name and explicit extension (.bat in this case), with double-quotes, from Notepad, will write the file as that extension. Hope that helps alleviate some of you guys' woes.
Guys, This is not a joke. After I followed the instructions, I could not open the start menu, limiting access to my apps. I was scared shitless since my PC is less than a month old, and I don't have money to get this fixed. Thankfully, I got access to the settings using the run command and managed to fix this shit.
@@jerrymyers8423 Here's how I did it 1. Press "Windows Key + R" to open the run command box or whatever it's called. 2. Open settings by typing " ms-settings: " and pressing "Enter" or by clicking "OK" 3. Once you're in the settings page, search for "Restore Point" and choose "Create a restore point" 4. Once you get to "System Properties", go to "System Protection". In there, you should find a system restore option labelled as, you guessed it, "System Restore" 5. Click on it, and hit "Next". There should be multiple restore point options you can choose from so pick the one with the date before you followed this bullshit tutorial. 6. After carefully choosing, hit "Next" and then "Finish". Your PC should be back to the way it was. If ya got recently downloaded software, you might need to download them once again. BUT ANYWAYS, HOPE THIS RESOLVES YOUR ISSUE AS IT DID WITH MINE. Best of Luck to ya brother!
