Excuse me as i cry finally getting to see Grandma OK again.
Really? What happened
@@taya____ its been 4 months since the last video with Grandma OK. Ive missed her lol.
Finally
Same. We Love you Grandma OK!
Geez! You scared us. A bit of an overreaction.
its crazy how a simple dish is prepared differently depending on the person !
I always cook it in the toaster oven and don't use butter. The tomato soup with basil looks so yummy.
Sometimes I just make 2 slices of regular toast in the toaster and then put 2 slices of American cheese between the toast and then microwave it for 30 seconds.
I always put the butter directly on the bread first. Never thought of putting it in the pan
True! It's gotta be Cheddar for me, richer in taste. When I saw the Mozzarella, I cried a little (just kidding).
The type of bread doesn't matter to me.
Pan fried is what I love the most, but the cheapest toast with Gouda in a Sandwich maker is basically my childhood, and nostalgia is the best MSG
So funny! Growing up we would butter both bread before they went on the the pan, so you don’t have to take it off at any point. And we used Gruyère cheese mostly, or American. Swiss and cheddar also hold up. Mozzarella feels questionable lol.
Glad to see Grandma OK's appetite is still going strong 💪👵
I have many feelings about the best grilled cheese, but that one looked like it turned out well so I can't complain.
Savannah, if your bread breaks from spreading the butter on it, I suspect you just need to soften the butter more before spreading it on the bread.
That said, you can also try substituting mayo on the bread, it will always spread easy and it fries up into a lovely crunch too.
Smooshing it down can help with crisp. Butter the bread and dip it in parmesan for a nice touch. And ypu are absolutely right mayo is the bomb. I say its a must have on grilled cheese
I've taken to melting the butter in the pan, and then quickly dipping the bread in that butter to coat it. I don't leave it in yet to cook, but rather pull it out and do the same to the other piece. Then I assemble and cook the sandwich.

My face lit up when I saw Grandma, I'm so happy to see her again
It was so great seeing Grandma OK. I used to make grilled cheese sandwiches for my kids when they were little. I use cheddar cheese, but I didn't think about the mozzarella cheese. I don't like grilled cheese or tomato soup.
I made myself a grilled cheese yesterday using Mozzarella. I also sprinkled drops of Frank's Hot Sauce on the cheese. And some freshly grated Parmesan Cheese pressed into the butter on the outside.
@@kenmolinaro I found a recipe from using grilled cheese machine to use bread to make own hot pockets just like real hot pockets. Just add whatever you want in it.
I had no idea my mom didn't like grilled cheese either, but I grew up with her making it for me all the time, and even sometimes when I'm an adult!
When I said why is she making something if she doesn't even like it!? Her answer is: "Because I know you love it". - my heart.. I will never forget that moment. Or the way her grilled cheese always tastes the best.
Moms are amazing. You sound amazing too. Thank you moms ♥
AWW hello Grandma ok.. I missed seeing you. Glad you enjoyed a grilled cheese.
My mom jokingly calls me un-American because I've never liked grilled cheese nor tomato soup. I love bread, cheese, and tomatoes in plenty of other dishes though!
luv u grandma OK you remind me of my late grandma. She LOVES food and she's also very cheerful and innocent like u💖 Everytime i watch ur videos u always put a smile on my face (as well as my mother's we watch your videos together haha) I HOPE U GUYS CONTINUE TO MAKE VIDEOS. LUV UR VIDS💖💖💖
Grandma Ok giving the Side Eye to the other half of the sammie like 👀 You gonna finish that? 🤣 Love her 🤗
Miss you guys... Hope everyone's doing okay?
I feel like her grilled cheese is nicer than mine... the bread looks soft. I use fancy cheese though LOL
Interesting. I always butter both sides of the bread, and have never had any trouble.
I usually use american or cheddar, but now I definitely wanna try mozzarella.
Grandma! I was getting worried - I am so glad to see you again!
Strange way to cook grilled cheese. Butter goes directly on the bread and you use American cheese. Or Cheddar if you're fancy.
In my household, we like to use more ingredients if we want. I personally like to combine spicy cheeses and mild cheeses, pesto, avocado, eggplant, and tomato. Some family members add chicken, sometimes bacon, sometimes ham. Really it’s a very versatile dish and I think that’s why it’s so popular here. We also dip in different types of soup if we want to. I like mixed vegetable soups, but nothing beats tomato.
Oh you should try my Breakfast grilled cheese. It is a crazy concoction no doubt. We have one of those sandwich press handheld grills for the stovetop. So fun to use. I like to put my buttered bread grill side down, add my fixins (which is American cheese, a fresh egg, already cooked bacon, fresh tomato slices, avocado slices, and a small leftover boiled potato sliced, then one more slice of cheese before smooshing it all together between the bread and grill plates). Let it cook on both sides evenly. Then flip out a nicely crispy closed sandwich. And I add a little mustard and sour kraut to the top. OMG is it so good. Haven't had it in over a year. But it is delicious. Have to eat it with a knife and fork though.
Ham and cheddar is the best way to go!
Apples work really well, for a more sweet grilled cheese. And one my family does is roast beef, green chiles, and jack cheese.
Love this collab! Grandma OK is the best 🥰
The grilled cheese I make is so good I legit wanna put it on my resume 🥲💅 can I pls cook for ReacTing fam and Grandma OK if I ever visit South Korea? 🥺
Ikr!? I would buy a ticket tomorrow!
Yay! Grandma OK is back.
LOVE grilled cheese 🧀
Try it with some garlic butter. It's so good.
So glad to see Grandma again! 💖The grilled cheese sandwich was also good 😀
I’ve been making grilled cheese sandwiches all my life, and I’ve never seen it done like that. You don’t get the full, rich, crunchy crust on the outside if you put the butter directly in the pan.
You do. And your bread doesn’t get soggy
@@codename495 The bread doesn't get soggy either way. You're putting butter on it, not soaking it in milk. And I'd have to see to believe about the crust. It certainly didn't look like it in this video.
@@alysevre she didn’t use enough for her very spongy bread, that’s all. It’s still butter + bread, how would it turn out any differently?
You gotta try this with American Cheese. It's so so good when dipped into tomato soup.
I like cheddar best for my grilled cheese, but american cheese is the classic. everyone does it a bit different hehe
@@hanjis5894 what kind of cheese is american cheese? I've never heard of it before
@@SaheeliRai It’s like a creamier sliced cheese that’s very processed. Honestly i’m not sure exactly what goes into it lol!
@@SaheeliRai It's that Mcdonalds cheese that resembles plastic.
@@hanjis5894 I agree cheddar though Colby isn’t bad if no cheddar around
I would love to cook for Grandma OK.
I love grilled cheese. A great tip is to apply mayonnaise to the outside of the bread and fry it in the butter. The egg content in the mayo keeps it from burning quickly and makes a super crispy exterior.
Grandma ok we’ve missed you!! 🥺🥰
We use scissors in the kitchen in the US. Almost every knife block set has scissors (shears) included and you can get them at Target, Walmart, etc. I’d say that most households have knife block sets. Right? I probably have about 4 shears in my kitchen
I think it just depends on the family, I think younger people are more likely to use scissors when cooking than old. I really only use them for cutting green onions or bacon, the rest of the time I'll use a knife.
This is WAY too much work for making a simple grilled cheese sandwich. Try it with American/yellow cheese. Yum! I've never dipped it in tomato soup. I've missed seeing Grandma OK trying different foods. Her face lights up.
A lot of my family will dip it into tomato soup with american cheese and they all love it. I've tried it once but it has two things I cannot really eat, or else I would probably eat it like that every week. I think you really have to atleast like tomato soup for you to enjoy it though, but it does add an extra flavor to it.
You're seriously missing out
Grilled cheese with tomato soup is a good combo. But you can also cook grilled cheese with tomato slices inside too! Super yummy! I've never tried it with mozzarella cheese though. Only cheddar. I'll have to try it! 😊
Grilled cheese with tomato (onion too) is the bomb
It's good! Mozzarella does a great cheese pull. Aestheticly delicious
I can't have a grilled cheese without tomato. A little squirt of mustard is really good too, especially if you're using a sharp cheddar.
When I was 12 and in the hospital, I couldn't eat much and the hospital food was gross, so my mom would sneak me grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches from the cafe upstairs. Heavenly.
I have found my grilled cheese sandwich people.
I always preferred mine with a bowl of chili instead of tomatoe soup.
Grandma OK! It's so lovely to see you, and hear Zoe, again!
OMG IM EARLY. PLEASE tell grandma we love and miss her so so so much!! She is the best and always makes me smile. She loves food so much and I absolutely adore her fir it and she is so respectful of everyone. Best grandma ever! 🥺 😭😭❤❤ Thanks mom!
I don’t know who taught that particular American how to make a grilled cheese sandwich, but this American girl definitely butters both breads and the skillet 😂. Then I sprinkle them with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and turmeric if I have it. Plus, I add multiple cheeses like pepper jack, yellow cheddar, and mozzarella. Her version is a sad bland interpretation of a grilled cheese.
Update: When she said she can’t cook, it explained why she made something a 7 yr. old can make plain and complicated.
We do use scissors in the kitchen. In America when you buy knives sets they always come with scissors (shears) It's not uncommon.
Yeah, just must people dont use them even if they are provided.
americans use kitchen scissors lol. she is unusual. its even a joke here that kids always get their haircut with the kitchen scissors
I am American and use scissors in the kitchen all the time. Would be lost without them.
This is the most awkward way to make grilled cheese I've ever seen.
Oh MG - you have to smash the grilled cheese - it is made so wrong everywhere!
It never even occurred to me to use mozzarella in grilled cheese. I need more flavor than that.
Hey I'm American and I use kitchen scissors! I have at LEAST a dozen pairs of scissors for specific tasks. Haircutting, fabric, yarn, kitchen, opening boxes, crafts, wrapping paper... Lol
yeah I also thought that was a little strange. I feel like kitchen scissors are pretty common here.
@@calicoathena yeah all of my family, both sides, and all my friends and their families that I know use them. And they're not even all from the same regions in the USA lol so I just thought everyone used them, like nationally and internationally because why the heck not they're great.
It's I think it's a question of how much experience people have in the kitchen. People who know more than basic level cooking often have them
It's funny that I got this video, because I was just thinking about making grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast this weekend 🤤
OMG.. I was thinking of making grilled cheese for me dinner 😂😂
Breakfast? Have you tried having a grilled cheese with a crispy fried egg and some tomato inside? With extra sharp cheddar... That's my favorite 🤫
I'm so used to seeing Grandma OK being spoken to in Korean that seeing someone speak to her in English is so surreal to me lol
Happy mother’s day to Grandma Ok!!
Grandma ok!!!!!! I missed you 💖💖💖
yay! Grandma OK! so glad to see her again!
I love grilled cheese and tomato soup too! Grandma OK is my spirit animal ❤
GRANDMA!!! OMG I’ve missed her 💜💜💜
If you have an air fryer, it makes the bread sooo crispy! You can also use different cheeses together or meat. I've never tried adding cooked vegetables but as long as they're drained, that could work too.
love Grilled cheese but sometimes I add lunch meat to it
In my country it's not called grilled cheese but 'toasted sandwich' and we can have it with just cheese or sometimes we put other ingredients. For me I like cheese, tomato and red onion and I butter it with garlic butter. 😊
Nice to see Grandma OK! ❤❤
she's so cute😭😭
Mozarella!? Oh no no no no no NO!
When I make grilled cheese I put butter on the bread, then cheese in the middle. I cook it on low heat so that the cheese melts in the middle (I also sometimes cover it with a lid so that the heat stays inside the pan) Then I flip it over a few more times to get the bread extra toasty and crispy,
Why was grandma not in videos for a while? I must have missed the reason
Heyyy Grandma OK! I've missed you lady!
The language barrier is killing me. 🤣🤣🤣
So Happy to see Grandma OK again!!! It's been a while and I am so relieved she is OK and hasn't changed a bit!
It's videos like this I miss my grandmas both of the have passed on you guys are blessed to have her still around
She LLLLLOOOVVVEEESSS cheetos... She will LLLOOOVVVEEE grilled cheese. Iim calling it.......
Use a lid on the skillet. Itll melt the cheese faster! Then your toast doesnt get burned.
Came looking for this!
Make Grandma OK kimchi grilled cheese!
Grandma OK I missed you. So glad to see you well. I just had some grilled cheese about 2 hours ago. With no tomato soup. But it was still good. So it nice seeing you eat it. You were very cutely hungry 🤭 thanks zoey. And lady who showed how to make the American classic grilled cheese. Hugs and positive energy. 🤗🌈🌝🍀
Love seeing Grandma OK again. I hope you are well, Zoey 💛
Gramma OK I’ve missed you 😩😭💕
awww missed grandma. Good to see her doing well and still her upbeat self
Oh my heart! 🥰 I loved this video way too much!! I missed Grandma OK. She is the most precious person. So glad to see her again. Watching her enjoy a meal is so heartwarming. Thank you for so generously sharing your Grandma with us. 💕
Grandma OK😭😭😭😭ZOE😭😭😭😭I missed you!!!❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
Watching Grandma OK enjoy food makes me think everything will be OK.
grilled cheese is so versatile, I like mine either with tomato soup or just add kimchi inside along with the cheese, both are delicious!
Thumbs down for using mozzarella. That is NOT a grilled cheese!!!!
I do this with a hard blue cheese though.. King Island Roaring Forties Blue.. just.. divine.
I will watch anything with Grandma OK! She’s adorable and reminds me of my fail interactions with my grandmothers LOL. The awkward giggle when we don’t understand each other but we pretend we get the point but then we’re waiting for the other to respond but no one realized a question was asked.
Grandma OK is AWESOME!!! She's so funny! I wonder if she knows?
Try One With Smoked Gouda Cheese Sometime..TRUST ME!!
Grandma liked it.
The best crossover imaginable, move over MCU, you got nothing on this wholesomeness 😆
Yay grandma ok is back!!! She makes me so happy! Love your channel!
Smoked Gouda and Colby Jack together... Da bomb.
Who taught her to make a grilled cheese??????????? lol I am dying that I can't take over!
i wish they made bacon grilled cheese
As always, I want to adopt Grandma OK. She is the best! I bet she has all kinds of amazing stories and life experiences to share.
You don't make grilled cheese with mozz.....
Grandma has those beautiful brown eyes. She is very beautiful. We love you, here in America.
Hello, this is an excellent episode. I use american cheese. I learned now that I should try mozzarella and perhaps pepper jack in the future.
I 💜 grandma OK! 🧑🏼🦳 I 💜 my grandma too! 🧑🏻🦳 My grandma is 90 and fell down in her home a couple of weeks ago. She's out of the hospital now and in a rehabilitation center. To anyone reading my comment, please include her in your prayers 🙏 I know it's selfish of me to ask, but I think the world of her 💜💜
I missed Grandma Ok so, so, much! She's my stand-in internet "Grammy" relative!
Awwww I am so happy to see Grandma Ok again !! Its been a while and I just missed her beautiful presence !! Zoey please make sure Grandma Ok knows what to buy to make these at home herself... Please ;)
She knows now!
I make my grilled cheese sandwiches with shaved parmesan and crunchy seeded multigrain bread. Delicious!
Please react to Eurovision 2022!!! P.s glad to see grandma is good 👍
I have no words... If you put it on the bread, the bread will break?!? Wow, I can't watch; I have to go.
Some Americans use kitchen scissors.... I have a pair at home. I normally only really use it to cut ingredients like green onions. Never cut a sandwich apart with scissors though.
oh I didn’t know Americans don’t usually use kitchen scissors? I’m from Canada but my parents are portuguese and we have like three kitchen scissors lol
That grandma is absolutely precious
I felt bad for judging her grilled cheese. Then I saw other people judging her grilled cheese. It's hilarious how strong of an opinion you can have about this in America 😂
Overjoyed to see grandma again!
I grew up with grilled cheese and snow days. My mom would make it for myself and kids when we'd come in after playing in the snow. Then hot chocolate. :D
Oooh, as far as kitchen scissors...not true! I have 3 sets of kitchen shears! My grandma taught me, lol. I have plenty of knives, but I need my scissors.
Btw, thank you for u/l a video with grandma. I missed her. I'm sure I'm not alone. And I was worried about her.
Grandma OK want’s it in her tummy now. Forget waiting for it to get done. 🤣😂🤣😂
But I have kitchen scissors. They come apart and become two knives, though - but it still counts!
Idk what Americans don’t use scissors in the kitchen. Everyone I know uses them.
Small spatula on big bread lol...wonder what kind of bread that is..I never see that size here in usa
Awwww, I wanted to see the cheese pull! And that looked good, but I think I’ll stick with American on sourdough.
I've never seen grilled cheese like that, and we've always had a pair of kitchen scissors. Everyone's different.
