Richest contract in nucks history probably. He deserves it.
💰Deserves every penny!
Petey will get an extension done before he become a UFA. My prediction is 8 years X 11.5 per year
top 6 forward in the league
🥇Agreed, one of the best.
Yes 200k absolut 😊
He’s basically Datsyuk with probably a little more offense but not as good in the faceoff dot. Nick Suzuki has the same problem. He can learn. If they hadn’t alienated Trevor Linden, he would have made a good teacher.
🤝 Trevor Linden would have made a great teacher for players like Pettersson and Suzuki. Let's hope they find a mentor to help them improve.
Pay whatever it takes............
He is defintley one of greatest player in the lieug and deserv the money but he still very young so i dont know maybee not put too much press on him with this money.
👑 He's a great player and deserves a record-breaking contract, but let's support him as he navigates the pressure that comes with it.
His market value is really high, kind of like how Boston did theirs. None of their stars got crazy money. But Vancouver wants to pay crazy money let them. It is just teams that really want to win their top players will play at a discount. Never win a Cup, but look at Petey score.
🏆 Teams who want to win often have players who take pay cuts. Petey may score, but a record-breaking contract doesn't guarantee a Cup.
@@gocanucks1 who took a pay cut?
@@freefalling6960 Bergeron and Marchant took contracts below their market value.
@@allancrow134 what about McaVoy
@@gocanucks1 it only makes sense to take a paycut if you are on a team that contends for the cup
I understand these star players wanting to get paid, however in a salary cap world if a large portion of salary is going to one player then the roster has to be filled out with journeymen and pylons. The only reason the Canucks were as good as they were in 2011 was because everyone with the exception of Luongo took a home town discount to be able to ice a team that could compete for a Stanley cup and they almost achieved that.
🏆 A strong team needs a balance of talent and salary. Canucks' success in 2011 was due to players taking pay cuts to build a competitive roster.
@@gocanucks1 are you a bot?
If they can sign more guys like Kuzmenko, why not
on every shift you need atleast one good defensive guy one good offensive guy, the rest can be fillers. And ofc you need 2 goalies like Boston got. Thats the recipe
nobody should earn millions of dollars playing sports its pathetic , while millions of hard working people can barely get by .
There needs to be an equal balance of income for everyone or at least something far better that the current hell we are subject to
🤔 It's a complicated issue, but athletes are paid based on their market value and the revenue they bring in.
Hes going to earn 200k more than Mitch Marner. Which is fine but the Canucks need him under 10m to be competitive.
Jt got 8M som ...not going to happen sorry
🤔 Tough call for the Canucks. Pettersson's potential is undeniable, but they must balance his salary with the team's overall competitiveness.
@@gocanucks1 yes but dont think that is going to be under 10M
He will get better offers from the Rangers or L.A.
🤑 It's a competitive market for top-tier players, but Vancouver could offer more than just money - a chance to be the face of the franchise.
