@@fishbellyrocks Heck yes. In 2 short sessions I had worked through roughly and almost memorized almost 45 sec. Then I got an injury (that's almost healed) and I look foreward to trying to tackle it again in a week or so.
I'm excited for the new record--wish I could grab it from your merch booth. I've learned the intro solo to SR note for note, but getting the last phrase up to speed is very difficult; my fingers need more flexibility! The best way to improve is to learn from the best!
Mike's dad used to play in a band called the Mutants back in the late 70s and early 80s. You bear an amazing resemblance to the other guitar player back when he was younger. His name was Tom Morwatts. If you check the video of Piece Of Shit/Boogers On You, check the guitar player playing the intro to Piece Of Shit right after they are introduced. You may not agree, but I think there is quite a strong resemblance.
Yeah a little, I see the resemblance--looking down from above I think. They are good. Wish I was around in the 80's for all the great music then. Tell Mike I'll be guitar 2 in a Mutants cover band if he wants.
If you enjoy learning Wilhelm songs, you need to get the new album when it comes out. I think you will find most of it even more challenging than this EP. Have you given Mike's parts from Skid Rock a try?
Actually I recorded straight into Logic using a dry signal with an amp emulator plugin added. It sounds thick because I'm playing on top on the original track (on its own it really isn't anything special!) ;)
This detailed cover is just awesome. I've enjoyed figuring it out. Keep doing great stuff like this one
You are a beast and my hero for breaking this all down! Great tutorial for a great song
This is just amazing! I can't believe how well you detailed such a crazy complex song!
Thanks Matt! Yeah, back in those days I had the time. Hope you find it helpful!
