Many other musicians, upon receiving such an honor, would think "OK, I've made it! Now I can relax a bit." Yet Kanami says "Now I have to work harder as a guitarist and a composer." So humble!
She's the best PRS ambassador that they could dream of. Kanami is an example as a musician and as a human being: humble, nice, polite, hard-working, and always willing to learn and improve Thanks for checking this out!
Kanami is just a humble, brilliant and beautiful young woman. PRS made a brilliant choice for their first ever Japanese signature artist. She deserves every accolade that is coming to her.
That was a great story about your parents! Someone needs to explain how someone this adorable writes these very aggressive riffs and melts you face off while smiling warmly at you, I need to understand!!
PRS is in great position with Kanami and Dany as brand ambassadors. It could not have happened to two more humble and beautiful (inside & outside) human beings. The future of rock is in very good and capable hands with these two incredible ladies.
That's such a great reaction, so I'd like to make another comment. Sorry. For me, PRINCE was my lifelong idol until I discovered bandmaid. The best experience of my life was seeing him live in Japan three times. When he passed away, I was saddened, thinking that I would probably never find another artist that I could be as passionate about as him. Then bandmaid appeared. I'm touched that the names of these two artists who changed my life are being mentioned in your conversation.
ooh like the cozy background! One kool looking guitar! Seems like it's incredibly well designed feature wise too (non-professional here) such a great story about yer parents and yer guitar! ♥
Prince's "Cloud Guitars" was custom-made by Dave Rusan (who also made guitars for Keith Richards, Gary Moore, Randy Rhoads, Mitch Mitchell, Def Leppard etc). Kanami choosing to mark her model with the Band Maid ribbon instead of her own name instantly got written into the Band Maid Legendarium; another chapter about the whole being larger than the sum of the individuals.
Kanami is a national treasure. Japan should protect her as a unique cultural asset. There is currently no comparable guitarist and composer like her in the rock business, IMHO - and I know the comparisons that pop up here and there and I still say - nope 😊 And her personal axe is a beauty. Paul Reed Smith has fully captured the value of Kanami with this present 🤘
I'm patiently waiting for mine (liar - I can't wait! 😅 ). I've been playing for 50 years and it will be one of the jewells of my collection, and will be played with love and passion as such a wonderful instrument should be!
I look forward to your reactions to the bandmaids every time. Their reactions to this video in particular were amazing. Their reactions when talking about the pickup were the same as when I talk to my wife. lol I look forward to seeing your reactions to the bandmaids in the future. From Japan
Mr .Paul Reed Smith did the right thing awarding KANAMI the highest honor ! truly deserving she is a composer & instrumentalist ❤ 🎉 😊 Signature Series Superstar !
This has been a bit under played by some, as she not only the first Japanese artist to get a Signature PRS- she is the first lady in the world to do so. The other nine signature PRS guitars all belong to guys. The recommendation for Kanami came from the main PRS office in the US and not just from Japan.
How well the whole design fits the person that Kanami is, doesn't it? ... Inconspicuous at first glance, but with so much depth and charisma if you look closer. Thank you for the story about your parents gifting you the limited edition Gibson. So beautiful. As to Kanami's guitar I'm still feeling so grateful to Mr. Paul Reed Smith for deciding to recognize Kanami. This is real acknowledgement to her hard work and mastery of guitarcraft - all very much separate from her mastery of songwriting craft. Having fans praise your guitar craft is one thing - but having Mr. Paul Smith do so is a completely different animal.
When it comes to production models, Prince played Hohner and Sadowsky and was known to use Fender, Ibanez, and Epiphone. His guitar that's called his Cloud guitar was made by a guy from Minnesota (where else?) named Dave Rusan. That's the one in the _Purple Rain_ movie. His symbol guitar and my favorite, the Model C, were made by a guy named Jerry Auerswald.
It's only 6k roughly (I say that like that's not still really expensive lol). It's an amazing guitar and and amazing honor and I'm looking forward to mine hopefully arriving soon!
Some people were surprised by the choice of PRS. But it is a logical and obvious decision, maybe from Paul Reed Smith himself, which takes into account not only the guitarist's technique, his talent as a composer, his eclecticism, and also his human qualities. Look at the big name guitarists who are PRS ambassadors and you'll see what I mean. Kanami has all of this and truly loves her instrument which she praises so much as if her guitar could play itself. Yes Jimmy, this humble and adorable little young woman deserves it so much. THANKS
Yay! Band-Maid Friday! 🤘❤🍻🎸🤘Kanami is so kawaii in her manner and voice, so egoless and self-effacing and always so open and honest with her emotions. She seems to think she doesn't deserve this accolade but we all know that she does (as does Mincho, who is biding her time but will be very eager to get her hands on that sweeeet PRS!). A genius composer, an original and superbly skilled guitarist and an amazing woman. Mine was supposed to be here last week but now the shop is saying I'll have to wait until March. Out of all the people that have received theirs so far, no one has posted a video of them actually playing it yet. I plan to make a video playing some Kanami riffs and solos as soon as I get mine.
And someone on the Band Maid discord server just received theirs from the shop that I ordered mine from and it came with a beautiful single piece quit top. I'm incredibly jealous, that could have been mine! Who knows why PRS chose to do that and how many more, if any, will show up like that. You usually have to pay more for that.
They only released 200 of Kanami's signature guitars. I and many others are praying they will release an SE version of it for everyone else to be able to get/afford. I would even accept if they used a veneer instead of a quilted or other finely grained top. I just want the the same pickups, paint, fret markers, and truss rod cover. It doesn't need to HAVE Kanami's autograph, although that would be a major bonus. But many of us want our instruments to have the same sound and capability as Kanami, MISA and Miku's signature instruments, along with a comparable appearance.
Well deserved by Kanami. Fitst Japanes artist to receive a PRS Custom Signature presented in person by Paul Reed Smith. Maybe even more impressive at least imo she is the first female of any nationality to receive one, the other 9 holders of one are all male.
Not the first female, Orianthi's Signature model Private Stock was... Kanami is the first Japanese artist though, in fact she's the first non "Western" musician period to receive a Signature model from PRS.
@@lordvorador5735 I checked this on the PRS website. Kanami is the First and only female so far to get a PRS Custom Signature. Orianthi has a private stock PRS. Kanami has both. @@EdwardBarnes-z4w Hi, just checked PRS website. Both Orianthi and Kanami are listed as PRS Artists. Orianthi has a Private Stock Orianthi Limited Edition but not a custom signature. The ultimate Band-Maid collectible. They were all snapped up in 24hrs and good luck prying it out of the maidiac's hands even if you offered double the retail price.
After some time, the "dispute" between lovebites and Band-Maid on your RUclips channel will resolve itself. Want to know why this will happen? Band-Maid has 124 original songs + 15 covers. lovebites has 63 + 4. Judging by your playlists, the journey with lovebites (40) will soon end, and Band-Maid (39) is just beginning. 😃
@@TJandTheGringa Speaking of Band-Maid covers, please consider reacting to their cover of MUCC's "Honey" (ハニー). This gem is hidden away as a bonus track found only on the regular and UK editions of the World Domination album and was produced for a multi-artist tribute album to the visual kei band MUCC. It is available as audio only on their YT channel. I swear I hear shades of Dick Dale in Kanami's main riff. Maybe take a listen?

That rumor is definitely false. Artists don't make much off of signature instruments, it's usually an honor more than anything. She most likely got a free guitar or two and that's it. If it ever goes into high volume production as an SE model ( as much as I love Kanami, that's highly unlikely) then the B-M copyright holder might get a small licensing fee per unit for the use of the logo.
