  • Easter Facts - Should Christians celebrate Easter? Does the Bible say anything about whether Christians should celebrate Easter? In fact, what is Easter, a Christian Easter... or is it one of the pagan holidays? When considering what some say about the so called, Easter pagan origin or the question of, is Easter a pagan holiday, knowing the history of Easter and knowing about Easter in the Bible is critically important. In this Easter video, Pastor Nelson with Bible Munch explains why is Easter celebrated, if Easter is in the Bible and answers the question, should Christians celebrate Easter.

    So celebrating easter and aligning it with opportunities to praise and give God glory is to our liberty? That’s been the problem with believers throughout the entire history of the OT to the NT….blending things of the Lord with paganism. We are to worship God in spirit and in truth and not just any kind of way we think can please Him. He’s got instructions on that. This is just one of the many products of western Christianity: Worldliness.

      This is being used out of context to justify disobedience.
      The Christians of Colasae WERE honoring God's appointed times and instructions/laws, and it was an edifying statement to not allow those on the outside to judge them for doing so! NOT the other way around, as often used today to justify disobedience.
      At the end of the day, Christian's practice is majority of man-made tradition in attempt to recreate what God already instituted to separate from the Jews. Evaluate your traditions, folks.
      Like the Pharisees, there is danger in "preferring traditions of man over the commandments of God".
      God gave us Passover and when it is to be celebrated in scripture. Man has created its own and slapped a Jesus sticker on it, and sealed it with unclean food on the table.

    “Easter” is the name of a Anglo-Saxon goddess of fertility. It’s easy to get sucked into traditions that everyone around us is participating in and not ask questions

    • @Wotsitorlabart
      @Wotsitorlabart 6 месяцев назад +2

      There is only one unsupported reference to 'Eostre' being an Anglo-Saxon spring goddess and no evidence for a festival at that time of the year.
      Could simply mean the dawn of the year.
      But either way the majority of the world use variations of the word Pascha - so you don't have to worry yourself.

      Judaism and Christianity had a final break shortly after the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70; various Christian communities were celebrating the feast of the Resurrection not long after that, certainly by the early 2nd Century......and one of our prayers is "Christ our passover is sacrificed for us, therefore let us keep the feast"....

    Amos 5:21
    “I hate, I reject your festivals,
    Nor do I delight in your solemn assemblies.”
    Isaiah 1:14
    “I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,
    They have become a burden to Me;
    I am weary of bearing them.”

    • @olengivens
      @olengivens 2 месяца назад

      God did not hate that they were keeping the Holy Days. He hated that they did them in vain; their hearts were far from him (like Cain did with his sacrifice). The new moon day is the Sabbath on the Luni-solar calendar; the calendar that uses the moon and sun; as God prescribes in Exodus 1. The Roman Catholics changed it to the Gregorian calendar (1582 Pope Gregory 13th) which does not use the moon and sun.
      God wants believers to obey him in their daily life AND keep his appointed Holydays throughout their generations. Gentiles have been grafted into this.

    I agree with Jay M, I’m not here to bash anyone but to stand on God’s truth. I have watched several videos with different pastors and or ministers and the majority seem to say the same thing, “it’s your choice”. It is true that we decide and choose, it doesn’t mean we’re not wrong. I have found very few pastors that have stated scripture that speaks clearly about not doing or blending pagan traditions. I do believe that a lot of Westernized Christians have one foot in and one foot out, that’s not how we are to live. I’m going to pray and love on these pastors, I sometimes feel that they would rather go with the “status quo”in order to appease the masses.

    If you don't teach them the truth about passover, unleavened bread, and first fruits. How do expect them to stand on solid ground when they're confronted with truth of easter's pagans roots. John 4: 23-24 is telling us that God is looking for those to worship him in spirit and TRUTH. Freedom is walking in his Torah (law). It's Freedom from sin. You are either a slave to sin are a slave to God. You can't serve two masters.

We should be celebrating and observing Passover. Not Easter, Easter is pagan derived worshipping the goddess Ishtar, the goddess of fertility and celebrating spring. So are we as Christians celebrating spring... or are we celebrating the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ?

He is the Greatest sacrificial Lamb for our trespasses .Why would we follow after a church that mixes Jesus with the Alters of Pagan god's ? The scripture he gave of not causing your brother to stumble is out of context .As The new testament also says not to eat of things sacrificed or given to idolatry. It really doesn't take much research, if you truly want and ask The Lord to show you truth .If you are just seeking confirmation to continue in what you are doing ,look no further than this video .

    Yearly Easter celebrations bring to remembrance the sins of those who observe it year after year, as they have not accepted the once and for all sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, shedding His blood for the remission of their sins.
    That is not living by grace through faith. It is works based, and totally denies the very Savior they're trying to celebrate. Hebrews chapters 8-10; Colossians 2.

    God put the sun and moon in the sky for us to be able to know when the set times for appointed holy days are, and for us to have a calendar. The calendar; luni-solar calendar, is different than the Gregorian. This change was made by the Roman Catholic church (1582 Pope Gregory 13th). They also created "so called" Christian holy days (Holidays) which match up with the dates and practices of the Pagans they were trying to "so called" convert.
    The Roman Catholics aught have obeyed Jesus and "have nothing to do with the works of Satan" and "do not worship me like the Pagans do"....and on and on. The modern chuch-building'anity needs another Martin Luther. How can we not see that these institutional churches are always packed on the Catholic/pagan holydays because these fake believers are not interested in having a Lord on his terms, and so gladly embrace the message of liberty in worship. Luke 14:26. COME OUT ! peace, Jesus is King
