- Easter Facts - Should Christians celebrate Easter? Does the Bible say anything about whether Christians should celebrate Easter? In fact, what is Easter, a Christian Easter... or is it one of the pagan holidays? When considering what some say about the so called, Easter pagan origin or the question of, is Easter a pagan holiday, knowing the history of Easter and knowing about Easter in the Bible is critically important. In this Easter video, Pastor Nelson with Bible Munch explains why is Easter celebrated, if Easter is in the Bible and answers the question, should Christians celebrate Easter.

So celebrating easter and aligning it with opportunities to praise and give God glory is to our liberty? That’s been the problem with believers throughout the entire history of the OT to the NT….blending things of the Lord with paganism. We are to worship God in spirit and in truth and not just any kind of way we think can please Him. He’s got instructions on that. This is just one of the many products of western Christianity: Worldliness.
Amen!
I agree.
@@MichSouthAfrica ahmein
Thank you 👍
AMEN!
Is not about us but about GOD. Pagan tradition hace no place in the life of a true child l of GOD
Colossians 2:16 NLT
So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths.
This is being used out of context to justify disobedience.
The Christians of Colasae WERE honoring God's appointed times and instructions/laws, and it was an edifying statement to not allow those on the outside to judge them for doing so! NOT the other way around, as often used today to justify disobedience.
At the end of the day, Christian's practice is majority of man-made tradition in attempt to recreate what God already instituted to separate from the Jews. Evaluate your traditions, folks.
Like the Pharisees, there is danger in "preferring traditions of man over the commandments of God".
God gave us Passover and when it is to be celebrated in scripture. Man has created its own and slapped a Jesus sticker on it, and sealed it with unclean food on the table.
God asked us not to worship Him as the pagans do!
“Easter” is the name of a Anglo-Saxon goddess of fertility. It’s easy to get sucked into traditions that everyone around us is participating in and not ask questions
There is only one unsupported reference to 'Eostre' being an Anglo-Saxon spring goddess and no evidence for a festival at that time of the year.
Could simply mean the dawn of the year.
But either way the majority of the world use variations of the word Pascha - so you don't have to worry yourself.
What we supposed to celebrate as christians is Passover, yes the Jewish feast, the one Jesus celebrattes and commanded us to celebrate, and yes is an awesome feast. 🙂🙏🏼
Yes and Amen !
Judaism and Christianity had a final break shortly after the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70; various Christian communities were celebrating the feast of the Resurrection not long after that, certainly by the early 2nd Century......and one of our prayers is "Christ our passover is sacrificed for us, therefore let us keep the feast"....
right on
Amos 5:21
“I hate, I reject your festivals,
Nor do I delight in your solemn assemblies.”
Isaiah 1:14
“I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,
They have become a burden to Me;
I am weary of bearing them.”
God did not hate that they were keeping the Holy Days. He hated that they did them in vain; their hearts were far from him (like Cain did with his sacrifice). The new moon day is the Sabbath on the Luni-solar calendar; the calendar that uses the moon and sun; as God prescribes in Exodus 1. The Roman Catholics changed it to the Gregorian calendar (1582 Pope Gregory 13th) which does not use the moon and sun.
God wants believers to obey him in their daily life AND keep his appointed Holydays throughout their generations. Gentiles have been grafted into this.
For tomorrow ❤happy resurrection day❤
It is Resurrection Sunday.
I agree with Jay M, I’m not here to bash anyone but to stand on God’s truth. I have watched several videos with different pastors and or ministers and the majority seem to say the same thing, “it’s your choice”. It is true that we decide and choose, it doesn’t mean we’re not wrong. I have found very few pastors that have stated scripture that speaks clearly about not doing or blending pagan traditions. I do believe that a lot of Westernized Christians have one foot in and one foot out, that’s not how we are to live. I’m going to pray and love on these pastors, I sometimes feel that they would rather go with the “status quo”in order to appease the masses.
Well the pastors should either choose to obey the masses or obey God.
And God said to reject the traditions of man
So why are you on here then?
@@Ryknfjor Because I am at a crossroads and trying to do my best in my walk with God. Just getting information where I can. God told us not to be of this world, and this celebration is worldly and not Biblical.
@@vintendogirl4146 youre missing the heart of the text when stuff says this. You _can_ play those easter games. The heart of the matter is the meaning of celebrating Jesus's resurrection. 'In whatever you do, do it in Gods name' paraphrasing a verse.
The traditions of man would be having Facebook, but if youre on there spreading the word of God, are you still embracing the traditions of man? Of course not.
So does the same apply to Halloween? Can we celebrate Halloween as long as we’re celebrating it in God’s name?
@@martinjaime9006 Are you commiting any sins when you celebrate halloween?
If you don't teach them the truth about passover, unleavened bread, and first fruits. How do expect them to stand on solid ground when they're confronted with truth of easter's pagans roots. John 4: 23-24 is telling us that God is looking for those to worship him in spirit and TRUTH. Freedom is walking in his Torah (law). It's Freedom from sin. You are either a slave to sin are a slave to God. You can't serve two masters.
Thank you sir. God bless you
Happy Passover and Resurrection Sunday.
Hello. Do you keep the week of Unleavened Bread?
God already made a festival to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus… it’s Passover
I would’ve liked more explanation about where the Easter origin came. It would’ve been a lot easier to hear the video if the music wasn’t included sorry
Ishtar. "Come out of her my people."
This is a good answer! Well done!
So well said. Thankyou for the clarification and advise at the end!
The Holiday part of it is Catholic. You left out the Easter Sunrise service. Where does that come from?
I have to admit I do like Easter eggs though!
Unfortunately, The eggs represent Ishtar & eostre/ostara the pagan fertility goddess that comes in the form of a hare. That's why there's chocolate bunnies and easter egg festivities, they pay homage to these deities.
@@tashirose699 How bout just that they taste good and bring joy at Easter time....is that OK with you?
@@tashirose699
By believing this twaddle you are denying yourself the simple pleasure of a chocolate egg.
No. You do not have to compromise to share the story of the Resurrection with people.
You're making excuses to adopting the Catholic church s heathen festivals!
The question, is it pagan or not pagan?
pagan. it's a "world" practice - not a fulfillment of God's laws and guidance for a healthy Godly life. leave Ishtar alone.
It's definitely not PAGAN! you've all been sucked down the rabbit hole with the Eater bunny!
Celebrating Jesus rising from the dead around the time this happened is an amzing tool to witness Christ to the world. Anyone who tires to prevent this is shooting themselves in the foot. Do you want to live in a Muslim caliphate and be forced to celebrate their festivals... oh yeah you do! That is where we are heading..
The deception here is unbelievably staggering! "Masquerading as an angel of light..."
Straight up! Jesus delivered me from witchcraft! We are to be a Holy people and not to conform to the patterns of this world. That included the traditions of men. We should be celebrating and observing Passover. Not Easter, Easter is pagan derived worshipping the goddess Ishtar, the goddess of fertility and celebrating spring. So are we as Christians celebrating spring... or are we celebrating the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ?
Your so right this is a lie masquerading and hiding behind scriptures that have nothing to do with Easter .Just as Easter had and has NOTHING to do with Jesus.Passover was not celebrated on Easter ! He is the Greatest sacrificial Lamb for our trespasses .Why would we follow after a church that mixes Jesus with the Alters of Pagan god's ? The scripture he gave of not causing your brother to stumble is out of context .As The new testament also says not to eat of things sacrificed or given to idolatry. It really doesn't take much research, if you truly want and ask The Lord to show you truth .If you are just seeking confirmation to continue in what you are doing ,look no further than this video .
You mean should they buy expensive clothing and just attend Easter day services and never return to church until the next year's Easter Day?
NO BUT THEY DO AND WILL!!
Im an old reader of history and i say NO
WE MUST CELEBRATE PASCHA OR PASSOVER OR PASCUA IN SPANISH
Wishy washy
Yearly Easter celebrations bring to remembrance the sins of those who observe it year after year, as they have not accepted the once and for all sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, shedding His blood for the remission of their sins.
That is not living by grace through faith. It is works based, and totally denies the very Savior they're trying to celebrate. Hebrews chapters 8-10; Colossians 2.
If its not in the Bible it's simply not in the Bible . People Love vain imaginations and their sin .
Where does the Bible say that only the things in the Bible are true
Jesus' death and resurrection is in the Bible, if that's what is being celebrated.
Actually, I think this is a very balanced look at the issue. I think the conclusions drawn are Biblical and give us an opportunity to share the Gospel as well.
This is hard for me to listen, he make it sound like do what you want and do what pleases you, it doesn’t matter! The Bible is very explicit on how to worship our king and it’s NOT about us…it’s about Him, He gave us His instruction HIS “Torah” How He wants to be worship and its very clear not to worship Him like the pagan do.
Of course get rid of the pagan worship of Ishtar and the Ishtar bunny. but let's get right back to Passover, when because of the death and resurrection of Jesus we too came under the blood of the Lamb
Yeshua died at Passover.
Easter is an Anglican translation of Ishtar
End of story..
That's false.
Easter comes from Eostre
Sadly yes
@@jenex5608 it could be either.
@Matthew Johnson your are right the word east itself is the word of ishtar. Ishtar is a moon godess this word comes along paganism. And just for you guys to know Paganism cam from one of noah's sons> That sons name is ham. Yes I mean noah for the bible this. But noah did not do this nor ham it was ham's son cush. this is also for you too @JenEx
No marvel these are they who celebrate the Christmas god Tammuz who masquerades as Yahshua.
God put the sun and moon in the sky for us to be able to know when the set times for appointed holy days are, and for us to have a calendar. The calendar; luni-solar calendar, is different than the Gregorian. This change was made by the Roman Catholic church (1582 Pope Gregory 13th). They also created "so called" Christian holy days (Holidays) which match up with the dates and practices of the Pagans they were trying to "so called" convert.
The Roman Catholics aught have obeyed Jesus and "have nothing to do with the works of Satan" and "do not worship me like the Pagans do"....and on and on. The modern chuch-building'anity needs another Martin Luther. How can we not see that these institutional churches are always packed on the Catholic/pagan holydays because these fake believers are not interested in having a Lord on his terms, and so gladly embrace the message of liberty in worship. Luke 14:26. COME OUT ! peace, Jesus is King
Lol sound like a democrat politician
Nope all false. Followers of the true Messiah honor sacrifice the 14th of Jan
🤔?
Could you please explain
